Whitewash turns to Hydraxion. She doesn't moderate her voice, so anybody who's listening can hear her, "Now I know this is going to be the first time you remember shooting Decepticons," she tells him, "I expect you feel like since you're fighting Decepticon slavery, you can help them, but you can't. Vehicons are completely brainwashed. They'll think of you as a traitor for trying. They will try to kill you and they will not stop trying. They believe only in their cause, so don't let yourself believe them."

For billions of years, the vault had been enshrouded in darkness. Surrounded on all sides by the firm steel hull and the ever pressing earth the structure had hid from the light until it had been untouched for eons. Now though the darkness was challenged, a small hole in the ceiling allowing a trickle of synthetic light from a makeshift array of lighting rigs. The shaft of light turning the once blinding dark into a spark as night vision helped illuminate the area for more than a dozen vehicons and the Decepticon in their midst.
The room once unseen was revealed to be massive, as the light above only succeed in illuminating the upper reaches of the chamber. It's narrow shaft of light highlighting a figure coated in a mixture of soft greens and smooth silver that stood at over 100ft, with their ancient armour a visible masterpiece both in design and quality that looked almost wasteful for a statue. It was an accomplishment of its image sake however that rather than reach the point of looking wasteful it appeared regal and necessary, as though to have created a statue of any lower quality would have been an insult rather than the gift it had been. After all it was the statue of one of the primes, their horned helmet and satisfied smirk cemented the visage of the infamous Liege Maximo.
Where as many of the vehicons, their processors newly forged and dedicated purely to a war that had wiped much of their culture and existence from the galaxy, where unable to recognise the figure, their commander visibly did as his optics trailed across the prime's form. As Shadow-Strike had been around long enough to have seen the prime in person though they like many had rarely personally interacted with the prime he had to concede the statue's image was faithful. The image only furthered questions of the existence of the vault however as his optics left the figure and instead trailed into the further dark outlines of the lower sectors.
In many ways the Decepticons who had dropped into the vault had been lucky, as they had found themselves landing on a small plateau that was situated aside the centrepiece of the vault, in the form of the statue of it's creator. Situated as they where it was easy to see that the vault had been built around the statue as well as the tower it seemed to be placed upon, as around it a city of levels seemed to form with small skyscrapers around the structure before gradually declining into highrises and even a few single story buildings on the outskirts.
It was even to the most unobservant a settlement built for hundreds if not thousands of Cybertronians. Now though with it's streets empty and the light sucked from its spark their only one conclusion to reach.
It was a dead city.

Vating didn't care about the sand at all. It stuck to his plating a small amount as he moved around the right side to get ready to take them down. Once in position, he awaits for Wheelspin, the second Wheelspin is ready, he'd give a signal to fire, and fire a burst into the closer of the two Vehicon's head.

WheelSpin reached his destination in near record time, considering the conditions he was dealing with and the fact he did manage not to get stuck in the sand. The latter was something of a success for his type of frame, and he already debated on what upgrades to give himself if conditions would ever be similar to the current.
Transforming at his location he waited for the signal and as soon as it was given, he too had gone forward to take out the other vehicon in sight. Scatter blaster replaced the nullray. It was shoot to kill this time, and to take out the enemy before it could do anything close to sounding the alarm. His aim was precise and struck his target in the head at near the same time as Vating's own had.

Above ground just under six vehicons had been set up in the bunker. Out of the six, only two of them had been assigned a guard position at the lip of the cavern, allowing them to scan their surroundings for nearby hostiles. Unknown to them at the time however Shadow-Strike the leading commander had set up a number of failsafes in the case of their failure. The most important of them was the sparkbeat sensors that where linked with each member of the expedition allowing the assassin as well anyone linked up to asses any member of the groups condition. As a result when the Autobot's struck in a surprise attack that swiftly eliminated the two drones before they could sound the alarm the other vehicons where still alerted.
Only knowing of their teammates demise however would have been of little help against a team of trained operatives. Like the sparkbeat sensor however another failsafe in the form of miniature cameras watched on a rig of monitors by one of the vehicons had succeeded in catching the sudden assassinations. As two weapons ripped through the vehicons mass produced armour in a calculating use of firepower that in normal circumstances would have left those inside none the wiser. To add insult to the Autobot's attempt however not only was the Vehicons deaths caught live giving the four remaining vehicons ample time to prepare but also caught the shooters on camera.
It was due to this that moments after the firing, the group of vehicons had sent off a distress signal alerting high command of the enemy contingency composing of at least Vating and Wheelspin. Alongside setting up barricades as the few crates that had been used to help hold the mining equipment as well as the monitors and elevator where quickly put to good use. In moments the vehicons had ample cover overlooking the lip of the cave which was completely unguarded with little cover except for the cooling corpses of their brethren. Even then though setup in positions to defend the vehicons held their discipline as they waited for the approaching enemy.
Below ground and within the vault city, Shadow-Strike quickly found that some form of ancient technology was attempting to block off all the communication signals from above. The quick message from Backbeat that came in stuttering ripples being the first sign before he received footage of his teammates deaths, timestamped more than thirty seconds late. It was a discrepancy that even poor signal couldn't explain against the war tested communications of the Decepticon army. In response to the jammer however Shadow-Strike simply began boosting his signal, allowing auxiliary systems to focus on the task even as his eyes began shifting across the horizon of the silent city.
The city long cut off from civilisation was visibly aged with technology that though arguably still advanced to the humans had became largely outdated to the cybertronians. That wasn't to say however that their wasn't positives to the city, infact it could be compared in appearance much to the famous crystal city with a breathtaking view that spoke of a more elegant era. As well as the ample supply of rare materials that had once been plentiful and used in the creations of the buildings but where now greatly wanted due to their superiority to other metals. In fact more than one of the buildings had been created in an almost wasteful use of metal alloys that would be used on the highest quality of warship nowadays.
If it wasn't for the statue of Liege Maximo infact Shadow-Strike would have quickly assumed that the city had been created during the golden age, but even that didn't seem to match up as his optics trailed across the frame of the nearest skyscraper. The unusual twists that appeared to create spires admittedly spoke more of the later stages of the age of expansion though even that was a guess. As a result when Shadow-Strike replied to Backbeat's question their was more than a little uncertainty, though he blanketed it masterfully displaying only a perfect calmness. "It would appear we have found a city Backbeat, a gem of our races golden days..." The mech stated as his optics trailed over one such subtly armoured building. "...and a diamond for our war machine."

Whitewash is watching the Vehicons taking up guard positions further into the bunker. She moves quietly from cowering behind Vating to take cover elsewhere. Since the other three Autobots are the ones who look dangerous and heavily armed, and she hasn't even drawn the shotgun, the Vehicons don't even pay attention to her.
One of them is lining up a sniper shot at Sparkflare when she sidles up behind him and puts her Energon Harpoon through the back of his neck without another word.
She picks up his sniper rifle, and smiles as she remembers what Sparkflare mentioned about needing a sniper.
Nobody has actually seen the con go down yet. In fact if the other Autobots were to bother looking around for Whitewash, she's practically disappeared.

Hydraxion would look at the situation. His instincts telling him to attack head on. So he just does so. He charges in firing fire blast from all three heads and taking small flight. This causes relation from the opposition as they get cover and return fire. Hydraxion was trying to get there attention and draw them away slightly. Enough time for his allies to gain entrance.

Sparkflare stayed in his position while Vating and Wheelspin had moved off to deal with the guards. The mech smiled as he saw the two Vehicons were taken down. They had the upper hand when it came to a surprise attack. So far they still had the element of stealth. Sparkflare stood up and made his way towards the entrance of the cave. That was until reinforcements came along. The mech frowned. The Decepticons had cover. The Autobots didn't. A smile soon appeared on Sparkflare's face. The mech whirred his T-Cog into action as the spoiler on his back slid down, his back opening up and two double barrled back mounted plasma cannons were extened out. Both cannons shifted into position, taking aim at the crstes the Vehicons were using as cover and opened fire in a rythm of four shots every five seconds. Each round was explosive, so it should not take too long for the cover to be destroyed. This was wishful thinking however, for all Sparkflare knew, each blast would not do frag all to the crates. There should be at least some form of damage should've been done.
:: I'm maintaining fire on the crates that the vehicons are using as cover, but it's not going to last forever. I'll have to recharge the weapons at some point before they overheat. So once I stop, provide me with some covering fire! ::
Sparkflare had made the comm as soon as he started firing. 30 seconds Sparkflare stopped his back cannons needed to recharge. Sparkflare then raised both his arms up towards the entrance of the cave and began to fire upon the Vehicons if they decided to pop out of their cover. The blasters on his arms were standard, nothing really special about them, just standard weapons. Nothing more. So they wouldn't provide much use in destroying the crates. At least Sparkflare can have his own covering fire if everyone else decided to ignore him.

Vating had brought up his shield the second the firefight began, using it to cover himself and Wheelspin. He wish he had anticipated that, but decided to just go with the flow of the operation. He nodded to Sparkflare's comms and drew his photon burst rifle. The second Sparkflare was done, he would fire a burst at the face of the first vehicon to pop out, then fire repeat bursts in the general area to pin them down.
:: I've got you covered, try to get something over the remaining two's cover if you can! ::
He was pray Sparkflare might be able to, it would make it a lot easier for them to enter.

WheelSpin observed as the new Autobots went forward to attempt to dispatch some of the vehicons and were successful. It was clear that the enemy no longer remained entirely ignorant - if ignorant at all - to their presence. He did not know how well known their arrival had been but it was clear the next of the vehicons were firing back and trying to find shelter within the confines of the cave.
He ducked down and into the cave when Sparkflare and then Vating provided cover. His currently much darker coat of paint provided him with some additional concealment which was topped off with his electromagnetic cloak. The latter kept him pretty 'under the radar' so to speak. He didn't like the feeling that the entrance that they were using now, to get into this cave could possibly be their only way out. If it was, they would have to leave someone guarding it to be able to warn them in advance if anybody else came. Right?
He ran, bent forward so that he would have been providing the enemy with an even smaller target to see and to shoot. He could almost feel a few shots fly a bit too close for comfort. One or two might even have been lucky as they grazed at his armour and plating. While others responded to the main danger - the bots firing at them. He reached the crates, using one of the holes that Sparkflare blasted into them to slip past. The moment he managed to get onto the other side he opened fire. His first target was the closest of the vehicons, at whom he opened fire- another shot to the head.
"Hey, over here!" He called to the others on the side of the enemy, still hoping that neither Sparkflare or Vating would accidently shoot him. The memory of Sky doing so intentionally, still fresh in his mind. After the shout, attempting to draw attention to himself, his headlights flashed at the other vehicons, and what appeared to be harmless at first, would have rendered any optic turned his way temporarily blind. He ducked down again as a few more shots flew whichever way and responded with his own fire, aim much, much more precise.
::We're all going in? Cons might be expecting us.:: Which really could mean those down below or in general Cons expecting autobots to drop by or even cons planning to have them do so by making it easy enough for them to proceed. All those scenarios were possible.

When the Autobot forces charged forward into the vehicon's line of sight, the Decepticon drones weren't idle as their forces unleashed a stream of blaster fire at their targets. The most obvious of which was Hydraxion who quickly found himself the target of three of the four soldiers as they applied a constant assault on his frame's upper torso. Their blaster cannons though not the most powerful of weapons due to their use of easily accessible components and materials where still capable of dealing damage through successive hits as the semi-automatic weapons continued firing towards the brute.
Elsewhere the only other vehicon in the room had designated other targets as he aimed his blaster in the direction of Vating and Sparkflare. Though ultimately the shots where more of a distraction than anything else as he tried to buy his teammates time in taking down the brute, unknown to him more than a few of his shots had narrowly missed the enemy Wheelspin before shooting towards the centre mass of the other two. Before he could realise his mistake however the vehicon quickly found himself falling into cover as the Autobot Sparkflare released an overwhelming barrage of firepower that forced both him and his kin into cover.
In moments the Decepticons advantage had crumbled as a hole was punched through the cover of one of the crates, and continued onwards whether through luck or skill as the attack found itself propelling shrapnel straight through the vulnerable frame of one of the defenders. Before any of the Decepticons could react however Wheelspin rushed through the opening, a gunshot following shortly after as the soft helm of one of the mech's imploded sending circuitry and damaged metal in a path behind the exit wound. Neither of the other two where much luckier as the furthest back one found himself impaled from behind by Whitewash as energon seeped from the wound in his neck while impulses from his processor failed to reach the rest of his frame causing him to fall like a puppet with his strings cut. Alone though unaware of their squad snipers demise the last vehicon popped up out of cover, his final strike a shot made more out of desperation as it hurtled towards sparkflare's helm even as a round from vating punched through his chest and crumpled his sparkchamber in brutal fashion.
---
"Before." Shadow-Strike sharply pointed out to Backbeat as his head ups display showed the sparkbeat sensors heralding the quick demise of the forces above ground. Whatever had occurred had taken little more than a minute and led to the death of six vehicons, not a particularly terrifying feat but one that had became more unusual outside of the large scale battles from the civil war. Alongside the footage provided from the cameras footage that showed soon after it wasn't difficult to figure out hostiles had arrived. Now though Shadow-Strike had little more than a dozen Vehicon footsoldiers excluding the one above the vault currently posted outside the elevator that led to the Autobot's current location. It was a less than favourable position considering the vehicons reputation for dying. "It would appear though we have a problem, the Autobot's have arrived."

Hydraxion would land not too far from the vehicons and while wincing a bit at being fired upon. There aim was good but, he did have size and his heavy armor on his side. He would unleash a torrent of fire at maximum heat. Slowly but, surely melting the vehicons. Making there blasters useless. They die a slow and painful death. Once done Hydraxion would transform to bot mode. Looking around it seems more of the drones would try and challenge him.

((All the immediate vehicons are dead dude. Only one more on this floor, and not in this area, though probably oiling himself.))
Vating looks at Hydraxion burning the remains and sighs. That was just overkill.
"Alright Bots, let's move. Art of surprise is gone now, it's time to go loud. I'll take point, big predacon, you'll be rear guard."
It was a common tactic used back on Cybertron with a few Heavily armored Bots taking to roles with the most firepower coming at them. He just hoped that Hydraxion was up to the task of beaing a shield for his team as well.

Whitewash slips back up to the Autobots from where she had killed the Decepticon Sniper, and steps up to Sparkflare, "You said something about Sniper Rifles, I think," she told him, "I found this."
She holds the Decepticon sniper rifle up to him.

After having sent his message to Backbeat and what hopefully included the rest of the Decepticon chain of command, Shadow-Strike began setting up for the enemies that he knew would be coming at some point. With certainty in his movements the Decepticon assassin proceeded moving to the edge of the landing they had been lucky enough to find themselves on during their jump allowing him a clear view of the ground below. With the city having been designed in a circle spreading from the centrepoint of the massive statue with buildings becoming lower and lower the further they where from the centre, it meant that what he saw was actually rather substantial as sniper trained optics rolled over the streets and overpasses, many of which where hundreds of feet below him.
All of this though was unimportant to the mech as he searched for the beginnings of a plan. What stood out to him however as his optics trailed back towards where he stood was one of the nearer skyscrapers located only forty feet away, a number that though large wasn't substantial as he began to turn around to look over the plateau he stood on. The roof like most others where largely bare since such systems as air condition that regularly clogged up the rooftops of human structures where integrated deeper inside the buildings. In short it was a difficult to defend point from the sides or above. Naturally it wasn't a place where Shadow-Strike had any intention to be when the Autobot's came storming in from the hole above.
So in a calculated manoeuvre the Decepticon assassin turned to face the vehicons who surrounded him, his optics scanning the stoic face of each and every one of them before he spoke slowly but with a confidence that ensured he was heard. "The Autobot's are coming. Already your brothers have fought and failed to prevent their passage. A regrettable event but one that only assures us the Autobot's while come, as it is no matter a question of if rather than when. If we fight them here though we fight them on even ground and close quarters. It is not a battle I intend to fight. So we are moving." With a flick of his arm he pointed towards the nearest skyscraper before firing off a single shot when his servo transformed into a pathblaster that blew out a window just below the rooftop. "I do not care how you move only that you do so."
Before any of the vehicons could move however Shadow-Strike raised his servo, already in the process of transforming back into the form of his clawed digits, signalling them to stop. "First though we leave the Autobot's a present. Any mining charges you have left place them at the four corners of the building. I do not care how you hide them only that the Autobot's do not see them on arrival. Then cross the gap." With that command given Shadow-Strike moved, sprinting towards the edge of the building before he leaped forward, his momentum continuing even as gravity tried to grip hold with the use of thrusters in his back and pede's. Upon landing he found himself falling into a roll that preserved his momentum when he popped back up onto his feet only centimetres away from a large bronze plated wall. Behind him the rest of the vehicons began arriving as one by one large thumps announced their landing before they began moving again around the newly acquired vantage point.
It would only take a small glance over the room to see why Shadow-Strike had considered it easily more viable as despite the fragile glass exterior designed almost purely for aesthetics, the interior which from a glance seemed to be set up like an open planned office, provided plenty of visual cover along with a few pieces which could provide even physical cover. The most noticeable of which being the closed off room in the centre, most likely designed for whoever would have owned the building. Since however the Decepticon had landed on the edge however that hardly mattered as the mech found himself clearing an ancient desk with a substantial amount of force as he sliced through the integrated terminal to give himself a staging area from where he could aim at the arriving enemy. While the vehicons did similar elsewhere on the side of the building facing the plateau.
All that remained now was to prepare mentally as the Decepticons waited in a tense silence, unknown to the rest of his squad Shadow-Strike began conversing with his own A.I representation of his creator, a programme similarly called Aura. :Aura, I need all files on the enemies displayed in the footage we have. Prep the information for prediction programmes and battlefield awareness.:
:The Process will take time.: An feminine voice replied in gentle tones as it spoke in an almost uncertain tone. :We haven't even identified all of them yet.:
:I have the time Aura, focus on the frontline fighters first.: The mech said with voice that spoke of restrained impatience.
:Yes, Shadow-Strike.:
:Excellent: Shadow-Strike intoned underneath the sound of his backplate rising and the eerie hum of a charging nucelon charge rifle.
