Ailnoth's vessel though clearly heading towards the command center's landing strip was visibly slower than many of the other ships around it. As where others darted forward swarming across the entirety of Kaon in search of the goals they'd been allocated, in contrast the chosen moved achingly slow. It's thrusters at a barely noticeable hum while the transport glided gracefully towards it's own destination at a speed that even now minutes after leaving the flagship kept it within the bounds of the Nemesis own defense systems.
A moment before it left such defenses though pulses of energy began to echo around the command center, heralding the activation of numerous short range shield generators as dozens upon dozens of drones created a net of shields that began to form around the building. Eventually creating a massive bubble that covered the entire structure from bombardment just as Ailnoth's own ship left the Nemesis range, and entered the dome.
From their the ship suddenly throttled forward, it's once calm glide forgotten as it honed in on it's destination. While the sudden change of movement began to gain the attention of a few of the more attentive mechs and femmes in the crowds outside. Many of who where now backing away from the landing strip, allowing a visible space for the chosen as it began to settle into a landing run. Still moving significantly faster than it had before, to reach the center in a reasonable time, as two minutes after entering the dome it began to slow down halting it's movement until it was hovering just above the landing point. Which allowed the ship to begin descending, as landing gear began to retract. In turn revealing six massive legs that began to sprout from either side with gigantic impact absorbers, which barely shook as the ship landed with a light thump.
With that done, the chosen had landed. Like many ships, it was significantly larger than a human ship of the same function standing in at a length of six hundred and thirty five meters long. To a human such a size may have been comparable to a warship with hundreds of staff, in the case of the chosen and it's cybertronain counterparts however the ship was a heavily armoured space capable transport which often carried Ailnoth and his personal bodyguards.
As the main exit ramp lowered, located on the bottom of the ship and only accessible when the landing gear was active, his guards where first to exit. Each standing in a range between 30 and 50 foot, the mech and femmes strode forward. Their appearance rigid and disciplined, as they moved in pairs with massive halberd's capable of cutting a cybertronian in two where carried by each of them who quickly began to spread across the landing pad. In less than a minute twelve soldiers had exited the vessel, each of them in matching ebony armour which hid their faces behind V shaped battlemasks. As they stood like perfect statues, weapons at their sides and their postures strict.
While around them many of the crowd who'd arrived outside had began to follow suit, settling into attentive stances as they waited for the new commander, and hoped he would not be as displeased as some who had came before. The battle above Cybertron, had not been the Decepticon's finest moment. Their recovery, if it could even be called that, afterwards even less so. Now a new warlord had arrived to pick up the pieces.
As though the guards, had signaled him with their formation Ailnoth began to appear from above the ramp. With measured steps he exited his ship and stepped onto the ramp without faltering, allowing more and more of his form to be seen by the interested crowd. Who even from a distance could see the similarities between the mech and his own guards, each of who possessed armor reminiscent of tablets and ancient tapestries that displayed the legendary knights of cybertron. Whereas they stood with armour formed of ebony and silver that glittered in the moonlight of Cybertron's moons however, his armour was detailed in intricate golden sigils and designs which fought against the harsh background of the utter darkness.
In a way it made him stick out, amongst his fellow soldiers. Though it was hardly the only method, as he strode forward passing his men who fell in behind him on his way to the command center, with long determined strides that echoed his own inner impatience.
He bellowed out a command just moments before he entered the building. "Anyone who can provide information on the Decepticon's current state, follow me. Anyone who played an influential part on the recent battle, follow me. If you have any other reason to follow me then do so, but expect not to receive anything till other matters are dealt with."
Soon though he was in the war room, only two of his guards following him as the rest stationed themselves at the entrance. Which left him alone with Backbeat, NeVor and Kickstart.
"I believe, you told me you had a full report waiting for me, Backbeat. Is that the case?"

Backbeat chuckles as he wrings his hands.
' Right on the money. '
He motions to NeVor, who brings up a holographic display of metroplex.
' Autobots are dug in... We'll need to be prepared for a prolonged siege... Currently Autobot forces seem to be mostly composed of a small group of skilled warriors and a large collection of support types. The problem is that this is optimal for defending a heavily fortified position like Metroplex. Oh and their leader doesn't have the Matrix it seems... Which means he's all yours... '
He adds
' Currently, we'll need to break their defenses... Before we can make any progress on this planet. Recommendations? We target any Autobots that stray too far from their base. Keep them bottled up... Thoughts? '

Tarn had quietly watched the events around him without moving, analyzing the situation. More decepticons were approaching, some familiar, others new. When Backbeat started speaking and handing out energon, he went over and grabbed a bottle for himself, dismissing Backbeat's warning about the strength. It wouldn't bother him anyways. He needed more energon, one way or another. He wasn't worried about knocking himself out, his systems were modified to filter out what could eventually be harmful. Tarn opened a small compartment and just put the bottle towards the opening, pouring the entire thing into it, feeling the energon enter his systems, refueling him to max power again. Purple biolights flashed along his sides, indicating that he was up once more, before reverting to their regular black color. If anyone had had a probelm with it, he hadn't noticed. Nobody could stop him either way.
Ailnoth's entrance was a grand one indeed, but nothing too impressive. The soldiers looked the same, and they were not cybertronian, apart from in origin. No, these came from far out in space, from a place he hadn't been on before. He was interesting though, Tarn couldn't deny that. He placed the empty bottle on the floor beside him and heeded the call to follow. Being patient and waiting usually had the best result, rather than rushing head first. He had actually been in the same place as Backbeat and Kick-start, so in reality he hadn't walked far at all. Everything seemed fine thus far, and the dark mech let Backbeat finish his explanation before he spoke from the shadows.
"The autobots never had the Matrix of Leadership, as far as I know. It is said to have been lost with Optimus Prime, but I do not have any credible sources confirming it. Back to the main point, Metroplex is shielded and has defensive capabilities in form of heavy weaponry. An attack on it would be a waste of time, as already proven by Backbeat and Kick-Start here, along with myself. What we need is to claim what we already own, secure our own defenses before trying to break theirs. We are vulnerable here. The autobots have defenses set up, we do not. Any further questions?"

Taurokhun approached the other decepticons sizing them up and evaluating them. Taurokhun stood 33ft tall. The moved with confidence and owned the space around him. He lit a cigar and took a drag on it letting out a large amount of smoke around him. "I would be inclined to agree. As much as I want to split open all the autobots at the Metroplex we need to set up shop. Tell me what needs to be done and consider it so."
He held out a pack of cigars offering it to those around him "Soon I will be going to Eurikas to take their trials with my Sparkmate and children. Believe I can act as emissary to keep them out of the autobots pockets given ample time. And if not I will establish myself long enough to recruit some to our cause. They are born to hunt and fight qualities lacking in recent times"Taurokhun was aware that if he left to do the trials it may be thought he is trying to run from the war but he couldn't resist the calling of the trials and there was the possibility of future benefits if the seed was sown.

Backbeat chuckles.
' Well I'd say in that case, we'll need a main base... I'd say Darkmount is our best bet. It should only need minor repairs and a few upgrades to be serviceable. After that, were I in command... I'd place listening post on the Iaconian border... '
He the hears Taurokhun mention a familiar name.
' Eurikas... I've not been there in sometime... Lovely culture. Recently acquired a Eurika burial sword for my collection... On the black market of course... The locals are excellent craftsmen, but far too hung up on the whole desecration of the sacred dead thing... I'm getting far more use of it than the previous owners... Right NeVor? '
NeVor speaks, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
" Yes, it's been so useful. Sitting in that glass case you stuck it in. "
Backbeat adds in a friendly tone.
' Does tie the waiting room together though... '

The new Decepticon commander remained silent after requesting the report from Backbeat. It was important after all to learn the current status of both his forces and the enemies, though it was a little disappointing how easily Backbeat skimmed over the Decepticons current situation in his report. Which if it has been his only source of information may have led him to assume they where prepared for a prolonged war already. The others however quickly made it clear how far from reality that was.
The Decepticons where reeling, after the battle above Cybertron had left them leaderless. Since then some of those in the room had stepped in to temporarily fill the void but never for long, and never with the certainty that such a position would be permanent. Which in turn had led to a dramatic assault trying to capitalize on the moment, rather than prepare for the future. He couldn't fault them for that entirely though, he had enough to deal with after all now that the Decepticon's future would be his burden.
To improve their fortunes though it was clear, in the ruins of their once great stronghold, that they first needed to secure the foundations of their campaigns. A point that all those in the room seemed to be in agreement with as Backbeat, Taurokhun and Tarn voiced their opinions. In turn leaving Ailnoth his chance to speak, now that he had the information to do so.
"Our goal is clear then. We require a proper stronghold, and with the activation codes I possess Darkmount shall be the center for our operations..."
With a glance around the room, Ailnoth began to step forward and deeper into the center. Where in the very middle of the room a large hologram emitter was located. Though it was currently off and would be so for sometime, the new warlord realized as his optics picked up on the lack of active lighting fixtures, and the large window to the north which allowed light to stream in.
Their probably hadn't been power in this building for centuries, and though it was only one building he had little doubt it was a scenario that repeated itself across the city-state.
"...Though it cannot be our only focus. One of my men, Shellshock will be able to provide a suitable recovery plan for this city, unless one of you are more appropriately equipped for the task of coordinating the rebuilding of Kaon. Otherwise you will likely find yourself placing your talents in his hands where necessary, and I assure you their will be no rejecting his commands when they hold my authority. Kaon's reconstruction shall be our top priority, to intentionally delay it or act against it will be treason."
He said, with a nod towards Tarn before turning away from the emitter, as he placed both hands behind his back and turned to look out the window across the ruined landscape.
"Even then though, Backbeat made a noteworthy point. We cannot allow the Autobots to rebuild and grow unchecked, to do so would be disastrous with the headstart they currently have. Though neither do we have the forces to expand ourselves, and also stamp them out entirely. So clearly we must delay and target them where they are weak, with minimal resources of our own dedicated to the task. Can I trust you to lead such an exposition, Backbeat in a time where any attempt to play with your enemies would be to cripple our own?"

Backbeat gives a loud laugh. Clearly amused at his new task.
' It'll be a fun diversion... But I will require a strike force. '
He taps his faceplate thinking.
' A small force designed for hit and run... Counter any attempts at Autobot expansion outside of Iacon... Any recommendations? '

"Darkmount?" Kick-Start gave a little smile, "Excellent choice. I have a... storage laboratory there. It's far too prominent a Decepticon stronghold to go unmonitored. I have Nibblets all over the place. The Smelting Pool is still functioning perfectly. I use it to dispose of failed experiments all the time."
She petted Nibbles, and caught their expressions, "What? I have lots of laboratories. I had to do something with my time while you lot were away."
There's also one of Kick-Start's excavation projects going on in Darkmount, hunting for artifacts. She says less about this right now.

NeVor pushes Kickstart to the side "accidentally" as she steps forward.
"Allow me to shed some light on the situation."
She throws her arms up to the air. A blue glow from her hands washing the room. A large holo-map of cybertron appears, know positions of forces are marked. Backbeat chuckles as he leans against the wall.
' Well... We should select our first stop... Where are these labs of yours? '

Darkmount, the legendary fortress Megatron had claimed as his own. A fitting choice for continued operations. Tarn approved of this and indicated it with a small nod. He didn't mind Alinoth being the leader for now, The Cause was what he was loyal to. As long as he followed the Cause, Tarn would not protest against serving him. The small remark about it being treason to not help rebuilding the city caught his interest and he stretched his neck joints. "And we all know what happens to traitors. With all due respect, I will not be useful in rebuilding. It is not what my function is and not what I'm meant to do. I can supervise, but that is the most I can do. The List has priority." Tarn stated clearly. He could help build even if he wanted to, his blade for an arm didn't allow it.
Backbeat, leading the new strike force? That didn't sound like such a great idea, Tarn had fresh memories of how well it had gone last time. He knew he wasn't gonna take part in that. He grunted slightly as he felt the previous rush of energon starting to calm itself, lowering gradually. He would have to refill his own personal injectors too, otherwise he would not last for long. However he did not know where to find more energon, not around these parts. An annoyance, to say the least. Kick-Start's mentions of her labs didn't exactly ease him, he was still unsure if all her experiments actually fit inside the Cause.
He lowered his blade, letting it hand beside him. "Look around. How many of us do you see? There aren't many of us here, yet both of you are planning to go on your own, hunting bots when you are able to stay home and help rebuild. You can rebuild, you are physically able to help rebuild. I am not. I will be departing now, there is not much more here that I can help with. Are there any questions or requests that you have before I leave? State them now or remain quiet." His cold purple optics swept across the room, resting their gaze on each and everyone in it.

Breakdown was one of the new arrivals, following the orders of Alinoth. After the commander had alighted from the ship to debrief those already planetside after the reawakening of the planet, the Decepticon soldier was assisting in the moving of supplies to the Decepticon's current active fortress in Kaon.
Feels good to be home, right? He spoke to the other workers, most of them just shrugged with their shoulders, hands full of supplies.
The brute set down a stock of supplies and overlooked what was left of Kaon, his servos clenching up a little. His yellow optics gazing over Kaon's destruction. This was once home and the war had laid waste to it, now Cybertron awoke once more and he answered the call to battle.

As Ailnoth listened to Backbeat's response he couldn't deny a trickle of disappointment at the levity in his voice. This was a mech who'd been assigned a crucial task and he'd simply stated the mission as a fun diversion rather than the significant responsibility it really was. A shame considering there was so few others who could be assigned such a duty.
Though with their current numbers he somewhat expected such a scenario. They had too few to spare for the important balance of rebuilding Kaon and establishing battlelines, while keeping the Autobot's reeling. With the need for a headquarters that wouldn't have them crumbling only a few months into the upcoming campaigns their efforts to bleed the Autobot's would have to be the minor focus of the two, at least for now.
Eventually it would be his turn to crush the Autobot's and their resistance, like the other planets before.
At this moment though they where clearly not in a position to do so, as the crumbling sight of Darkmount; it's spire twisted and scraped raw with only growing rust to replace the once pristine metal, was replicated across the city. It was sight that might have left Ailnoth wounded, if not for his own detachment having left Cybertron long before Kaon was more than a concept. For those born on the planet during the golden age though he assumed the sight of their cities brought to ruin would probably leave a gaping abyss similar to the one he'd felt abandoning Candor Stix.
Perhaps that was why he'd chosen Darkmount, rather than merely because of his access to the authorization codes. The fortress was a symbol, forged by the Decepticon war machine as something both impenetrable to their enemies and awe worthy to their allies. It's revitalization would be moral boosting to an extent that so few other things than the glory of victory could compare.
If it meant he would have to pay a little more attention to Kick-start and her 'labs' so be it.
With that idea considered and the rattle of conversation in his ear, Ailnoth's vision settled on the focus of their discussion.
Then Tarn spoke. His suggestions of who was useful and not, running through the current commanders mind even as he headed towards the exit.
Ailnoth's voice in response boomed across the room, in a baritone that was surprisingly soft like velvet wrapping around a barely vieled steel blade, reaching everyone within just moments before Tarn left. "It's peculiar, I do not remember giving you a dismissal Tarn. Please stay awhile, I assure you we have matters to discuss."
With that stated, Ailnoth turned. His back facing the window now will his purple optics glanced across the figures in the room, only to settle upon Backbeat.
"Targets of opportunity shall be highlighted as they appear, for now that shall require you and your forces to be located near Iacon for the foreseeable future. As for your own active roster a file shall be supplied with a list of your men, many of them shall be required for repairs later and their deaths shall reflect negatively on you as a consequence. As a result of the repairs, you can expect frequent roster changes till Kaon has been established. If you have other questions see me at a later date, for now you and your assistant are dismissed."
A second later, with his message to the two delivered he found his attention settling on Kick-Start.
"I hope that some form of intelligence has allowed you to realize I will not tolerate your labs undermining our cause. You where given leeway in their creation due to Shockwave, he is no longer here though so do not consider yourself irreplaceable. For now expect to be helping Shellshock with repairs, though I will likely be transferring you to Backbeat's forces from time to time. If you have any questions ask so now, or leave."

Tauro bowed to the boss man.
"Forward that hit list to me too. When I get back I'll behin my assault on them. But for now I have other pressing matters"
Tauro turned and lit a fresh cigar as he exited the area leaving a trail of smoke in his wake.
"If things get incredibly dicey let me know and I'll come save you all"
And with that he was gone.

Breakdown had walked through the fortress, ensuring that it was safe enough, passing by the odd worker. He had a lot of respect for the working force behind the Decepticon's regime, but he was also feeling a little restless. He made his way towards the control center, guarded by Alinoth's soldiers. He decided to stop and lean against the wall, awaiting for his first mission on the homeworld.

"Peculiar indeed. I don't remember you giving me an order to stay either. But as you request my presence, I shall remain until that is deemed no longer necessary or something else requires my attention." Tarn had stopped right at the exit before he turned around to look back at Ailnoth. What could be so important that he had to remain here while the rest were being dismissed and going out on the field? The one who smoked, he had left without any sort of notice even, something was really odd about all of this. Lucklily nobody had touched him, because that would have been a disaster for everyone involved.
The large mech slowly strode back into the room, closer to Ailnoth as it was no use in staying as far away as possible. His energon levels were still high, no need for refueling yet, but he'd have to do so before leaving the base, that much was clear. The List was mostly empty, but there were some targets on it, and he knew where to find them. It would take some time, his alternative mode wasn't the fastest one and Cybertron was rather large. He'd need something else that could help him make his way around the galaxy, not all traitors were here on this planet.
"So these matters, what are they?" Tarn asked without a trace of emotion in his voice. His mask couldn't move so there were no emotions on his face either. He was slightly interested in what Ailnoth had to say, but at the same time this could be seen as a waste of time. Didn't they have better things to do, now that goals had been set? Maybe they didn't, but then again that wasn't his problem. He was a mech of justice, the decepticon version of justice. He could be described as a murderer by many, though not my himself. He knew he was doing the right thing, to bring peace to Cybertron and unite all cybertronians. That was why he was here, in this world. Nothing would stop him.

"My labs... are my own business," Kick-Start replied, "Some of them were left to me by Shockwave when he... vanished."
She chuckled, and pointed to a few spots, "I have major setups here..." she pointed to Shockwave's former tower, now nothing short of a hive for Nibblets, so overrun with them that they actually posted a threat for anybody who wasn't Kick-Start, "Here," her laboratory in the Acid Wastes was using the local pollution as a power source, a site for chemical experimentation, "A scavenging operation here," she pointed at the Crystal Ruins, "A restoration project going on under the Rust Ruins," it was her largest single lab and sprawled under the sands of the Rust Sea, "Some investigations here," she pointed at Trypticon, "And oh, I pretty much own Kalis." Technically it's just a clinic. But now that people are coming back to Cybertron it will be needed more.
She had lots, lots more, although the definition of 'lab' also includes small storage warehouses, hidden vaults and basic maintanance labs for prolonged investigations. Those were just a few of them. In fact she wasn't even pointing out the best ones.
"If you need me, Kalis is where I'll be for a while. Now that the Autobots are back, I have some micro-managing to do."

The only sign of Ailnoth's displeasure at Kick-start's disrespect was a tightening of his fists even as he recorded the slight to memory. She would not be the last Decepticon too foolish to quieten her tongue, but for now they where needed as long as they weren't traitorous to the cause.
Those who where would be dealt with the mech currently standing infront of him, the leader of the Decepticon Justice Division and a mech who he needed in his favor yet not at the cost of Ailnoth own political power. As even surrendering to the wishes and demands of one who was loyal solely to the cause could be considered a weakness. Instead Ailnoth would need to work around him, convincing him in the process that his plots and plans where beneficial to them as a whole rather than only himself.
To begin though he needed to ensure there discussion wouldn't be listened to. With that in mind he glanced around the room searching for any device that was in clear sight before turning his attention to the entryway where his men stood outside.
"Guards, you are required." He said, and within moments they entered their halberds held steady but only a moment away from use as they came to attention infront of Ailnoth.
"Search the room. I want any bugs found destroyed, then return to your posts."
With their order given they proceeded to search the room, finding only a small selection of bugs many of which had been deactive for millennia and where now being quickly disposed off. As they came to the end of their search they gave Ailnoth a respectful nod before they left, closing the door behind them and leaving the new commander alone with Tarn.
Knowing the zealot had waited long enough Ailnoth began to speak again, only solemn certainty carrying in his voice.
"The reasons I have kept you behind and require you in Kaon, are rather obvious once considered. The truth is I fear your list may find itself filling quickly while we attempt to recover, after all Cybertron has been reawakened and many of our men may considered the idea of surrendering to resettle aside the Autobot's as an attainable goal. If even a few are allowed to let such thoughts settle into reckless action it could lead to an exodus of our faction."
Now looking at Tarn, Ailnoth's optics where assessing.
"I know you are not the mech who left on the victory wearing that mask, but as long as it remains yours then this is as much your burden as mine. You are a deterrent to those who might see our weakness as a chance to flee and executioner for those foolish enough to do so anyway. I cannot sacrifice that for the minimal gains of a minor campaign. Do you understand, why you must remain close to home?"

Watching the guards move around the room, checking for bugs, indicated that this was something important. Why would they otherwise do that? Tarn himself was no stranger to bugs and infiltration, one could consider him a master of it to some degree, although with his size it was unclear just how he could infiltrate anything. Not that it mattered to anyone, usually it wasn't he who did the dirty work. The guands finished and walked out, meaning he was alone with the commander. He turned to face him as the larger mech spoke, nodding slowly to his words. What Ailnoth said was true.
"Very true. Loyalty extends as far as the power goes and currently, you don't control very much. You aren't the imposing leader that Megatron was, at least not yet. I'm not very well known either around these parts because, as you stated, I am not the Tarn that has been active since the dawn of the Decepticon movement. I am his replacement when his untimely demise happened aboard Victory. However, I hold his responsibilities to The Cause and I know the importance of a controlled environent. Resettling as an autobot is a crime against the very core of our race and a step to more war on this planet. Our goal is not to exterminate all bots, but to make cybertron whole again and unite all cybertronains under our flag. Until that goal can be achieved, we need to stay strong and crush the opposition. I do understand why I need to stay back, but if a high-profile target is available, I will kill him."
Tarn said this now with more emotion than before. It wasn't angry or hostile, more as if he was stating facts. He knew what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. He had made his point clear, that he was going to help out at home until another opportunity presented itself. Not many were foolish to try and commit treason when he was around. His blade was familiar to the energon inside cybertronians and it would gladly taste it again if given the chance. "So, what is our next move? Where am I needed?"

Backbeat turns around to face NeVor. His body language conveying a manic glee rarely seen these days.
' Meet the old boss same as the new boss... Looks like we've got new pieces on the game board. '
NeVor dissipates her holomap into a blue mist.
" Kick-start's up to something. I vote we hurt her till she gives us answers."
Backbeat walks up and grabs NeVor by the shoulder pulling her in close.
' We could... Or we could focus our efforts and not waste the time? Let the mad doc have her fun... It'll be a great distraction for our real plan! '
The two start to laugh maniacally as the walk away.
