I'm honestly pretty excited for this. I love the way the graphics look and the gameplay looks fun. Probably won't be on the level of WfC or FoC but I'm happy they're going G1 as there has never really been a good game for that continuity.
Now if we could get a sequel to Foc next...

Game doesn't look terribly interesting honestly. The graphics are nice but gameplay looks to not going past doing combos with melee, I'd be surprised if transforming even served a purpose other than combos. Brawler games are Meh.
Just an FYI, it won't have guns at all likely.

IGN(orant) has posted 10 minutes of the gameplay. So a couple of things:
-First of all, WHY are we still making games for the last gen of consoles?!
-Secondly, why did we go back to the generation where the Decepticons were inept to the point of not even being a threat, the designs were bland, and things were literally pulled out of thin air?
-The gameplay, graphics, animations, basically the entire game, looks like it's been ripped from the Legend of Korra game, and that wasn't all that great.
-WFC and FoC sold pretty well and got good reviews, as well as being just better looking and playing than this game. Why are we fixing what isn't broken? Wheres High Moon in all this? Make a third game dangit, you were so close to perfection with FoC!
This thing ain't even on my radar, think I'll save my money for something else.

To address some of your comments (in order): -People, even to this day, complain whenever a new game doesn't come on previous gen when they're still in production. This especially happened when Batman: Arkham Knight was revealed and was said to only be on the current gen (plus PC) due to being too advanced and massive for the PS3 and/or Xbox 360. So I "guess" Activision is listening to the minority on that. -Nostalgia reasons, and it worked (especially if you take a look at forum sites like Seibertron and TFW2005). Even the developers, Platinum Games, admitted they felt like doing a G1-centered game because they grew up in that era. -High Moon Studios (after producing Marvel's Deadpool: The Game) dissolved thanks to Activision (hence why Rise of the Horrible Tie-In was created by a different company all together). So now their members are either laid off or working on other Activision-related DLC for games. Minor stuff basically.

Thanks for the gameplay embed, I was trying to embed the announcement trailer on an android pad and it wasn't working.
There is another comment you forgot to address Shift, but thank you for addressing the comments for me.
- This is the same studio that made Legend of Korra but the gameplay shpuld be better as the dude that did Metal Gear Rising is at the helm (depends if you liked that game, I loved it).
Also yeah I wish for another WFC/FOC story, but it won't happen cause High Moon was flushed after the poor sales of Deadpool and the pulling of the Marvel rights about 5 months after the game's release. Shame, that game was brilliant despite all reviews and I still have it to this day.

Some additional new information (plus images, including GRIMLOCK): platinumgames.com/games/transformers-devastation/-Most of the surviving G1 characters return (including Cullen as Prime, Welker for Megatron, Gregg Berger for Grimlock, Dan Gilvezan for Bumblebee, and Michael Bell for Sideswipe). Only Wheeljack so far is replaced due to the original VA being deceased. -5 playable Autobots (Optimus, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Grimlock, and Wheeljack). Decepticons are not playable, but the story is "equally divided in terms of focus on both sides". -No multiplayer. -It's a full blown retail and downloadable game. -Contains customization of weapons and moves. High Moon should pick up in the aligned continuity where TFU was going, right after coming to Earth.
