Hotwire stmped into the Medical Bay from her Ground Bridge, Energon leaking from cuts from the shots. Nothing serious, but she was stinging badly. And she'd be a lot worse off if it hadn't been for Gox, whom she allowed down right now.
Opposed to what she'd said on the ship, she wasn't up for running off and killing Death Wish and Skyscrapper right now. But still...
"What a couple of jerks," she snarled, welding a long cut closed. She'd handed Helix over to them. They'd given her the keys. It was two against two, one side with a hostage that the other side would do anything to see safe.
And Vehicons - VEHICONS! - had told her that the deal wasn't done until it was safe. And they had pointed guns at her! And started firing! If she'd had comand of that ship she could have backed the two mechs up but oh, no...
"A pair of double-crossing, back-stabbing, worthless, unconscionable little scrags!" she continued to weld herself, "How much 'safer' could a mech be, eh?"

Entering the medbay for a quick diagnostics check Shadow-Strike wasn't surprised to see the femme, despite claiming to be a freelance mercenary she seemed to favour the Decepticons. The moaning however was peculiar as he paced by the femme with his audio receptors listening for any extra detail, he was curious what exactly she was complaining about as he came to a stop aside a single berth. Lifting himself up onto the berth Shadow-Strike flicked his visor down hiding his optics as he lay back and began to assess his own condition, he wasn't injured by any means after all he hadn't been in combat for a while now. For now it was a simple checkup.

Hotwire looked up at Shadow-Strike, still welding shut several scores from Vehicon shots, "Y'see, this is why I say neutral, Shadsy," she told him, "Who would want to permanently be on the side of a cretin who can't even handle one little Predacon baby? The kid was in stasis cuffs!"
She checked off the injury.
"Seriously, you don't get much more incompetent than using your 25 stationed Vehicons to Double-cross the Bounty Hunter, rather than backing you up in the fight..." she recalled he didn't speak much, "What do you think, Shadow-Strike?"

Shadow-Strike: I'm not sure what to think. I don't know what your talking about.
Laying his helm back into the berth Shadow-Strike relaxed as he began to asses his spark through the use of the medical diagnostics being provided straight to his visor, their was a few anonymities compared to a standard spark but Shadow-Strike couldn't see anything out of the ordinary for him. It seemed to be handling itself lately as he listened to Hotwire further.
Shadow-Strike: It sounds a waste of resources.

"After I grabbed Helix, I sold him to a couple of cretins called Death Wish and Skyscrapper for a ship and credits! Is it my fault Autobots turned up? No!" Hotwire raged, "They get him! He's the son of the two bots attacking! He's the perfect hostage! He's in stasis cuffs! And I get on MY ship and a bunch of Vehicons tell me that it isn't mine until the little punk is 'safe'! How much safer could he be?!"
She grabbed Shadow-strike by the shoulders.
"Vehicons tried to tell me what to do, Shadow-Strike!" she shook him, "VEHICONS!!!!"

Allowing her to shake him Shadow-Strike pulled up his visor aware he wouldn't be running any diagnostics as long as she continued to shake him, with that he gently placed a servo against hers as he peeled both of her servo's off his shoulders to stop her.
Shadow-Strike: I see this decision upsets you.
Twisting to the side of his berth Shadow-Strike looked at the femme as he raised an optic ridge.
Shadow-Strike: I assume you didn't receive payment?

"Of course not! They tried to shoot me when I pointed out that if they didn't let me take command we'd all get taken prisoner anyway!" Hotwire snarled, "They're Vehicons; I wonder who gave them that order, eh?"
She brushed down the welding marks.
"Where else do you think I got these injuries from?" she asked, "The next time I see those two I am going to... going to..."
Oh, okay, she didn't intend to go gung-ho on them, but man, she wanted to kick their asses non-fatally so much.
"I get no payment AND that crazy Pred-chick hates me even more!" she complained.

Shadow-Strike: I see. That seems an issue.
Listening to the femmes intentions Shadow-Strike lowered his visor again as he began to check his systems again. This time slowly looking over his frame's internal organs as Shadow-Strike looked towards Hotwire's wounds.

"Probably should have stuck around and kept him with the blue kid and you, instead of flying off. I would have lost out less with no deal at all," Hotwire paused, "You look fine though. Guess he must've gone down fast. Need any help?" she checked, looking at Shadow-Strike's negligible damage.

Shadow-Strike: He didn't deal any damage, he was unexperienced. I'm just performing a simple checkup.
Looking at her Shadow-Strike was a little surprised she was suggesting she would have been better off with no deal.
Shadow-Strike: A little shoulder plate damage I suppose but that was more from the predacon.

"I was trying not to damage him myself. Not that he got a proper hit in. Everybody prefers their goods undamaged, even if it's just so they can get the chance themselves. That's why the top guns are wanted functioning, y'know?"
Hotwire stood and checked out some of the scratches on Shadow-strike's shoulders.
"No, he didn't make any real marks... it's scratches and dents, but no Energon spilt. I'd say, lucky you, but you don't exactly need luck on your side with a kid like that."
She sat down again with a sigh. Days like these really disappointed her.
"And that could have been real paydirt, too!" she added.

Listening to her as she looked over his shoulder he gave an acknowledging smile as she told them their was no real damage. He knew already the mech he had dealed with in the black forest hadn't done any real damage, however she still seemed to be concerned primarily about the loss of money.
Shadow-Strike: Money isn't the only thing in life Hotwire...

Hotwire paused, "What, you think it's about the money?" she asked, "I mean, yes, it is about the money, but those sons of glitches double crossed me! Half the reason I came back here is so that they aren't the only ones who get a say in whose fault this is!"
She ventilated deeply.
"Forget it. A permanent contractor like you wouldn't understand..." She waved a hand, "Money isn't the only thing but... nobody acts like it isn't."

Standing up Shadow-Strike turned his body slightly towards the femme as he looked down into the femme's curiously.
Shadow-Strike: If it isn't for the money then why do you do it. We both know it isn't a job which creates lasting friendships, it doesn't provide power, it doesn't even garner respect. In the end up all it does is provide credits.

"I could say 'because I don't know how to do anything else..." Hotwire continued to stare into her lap, her optics as always covered by her visor, "But that would be a cop-out. It's more like... more like..."
She pulled out a shorter blade from her arm and started fiddling with it.
"I'm not really a 'con. So I don't need to feel bad about not living by 'con morals, and I don't need to fight every sucker with the wrong symbol like a knee-jerk reaction," she told him, "Same around with being an Autobot; I don't have to pretend I'm some wonderful, honest, martyred soul. I'm free. But in a war with two sides, freedom... is expensive."

Listening to her Shadow-Strike gave a light understanding nod and a somewhat kind smile, at least it was the best smile he could give as he continued to look down at her.
Shadow-Strike: So this job gives you freedom, your doing the job for your own benefit and that's fine. However does this job really make you happy?

Hotwire smiled, but didn't look up, "Funny you should ask, yeah, I do enjoy my job! It's just days like these... feeling like everything's gone wrong and not really having anybody to... y'know... get back to."
She put the blade back in place.
"That's why I job so much for 'cons, I guess. At least I have a place to come to on my days off."
She grinned maliciously suddenly, glancing up at Shadow-strike.
"That, and it's fun."

Gox woke up. it only took him a few minutes to realize that he had fallen asleep while still in Hotwire. It was quite embarrassing, and as his luck would have it, she would be able to notice that he had fallen asleep in her. Gox didn't make any mental messages to the femme, instead he began to get out of her body. The recharge he had been granted did give him some extra strength though. The two-foot spider at last crawled out from Hotwire's back after about five minutes of careful work.
He gave a small yawn, and then scuttled out to find himself in a strange, metal place. Not to mention there was a big, black and dark red mech who was talking to Hotwire. Goxes optics adjusted to the scenario, and he tried to see what was going on.
"Funny you should ask, yeah, I do enjoy my job! It's just days like these... feeling like everything's gone wrong and not really having anybody to... y'know... get back to."
Gox turned his small helm to look at Hotwire, who was speaking, his large deep blue optics seizing her up. She seemed to be okay, physically at least. Gox wasn't sure what to say, or how to say what he didn't know what to say, so the small quintesson-insignia branded spider just kept to himself. He was about four feet away from Hotwire now, providing her some space so that she could have some normal time to herself in her own mind. It was then that Gox recalled that he was hungry. Quite hungry. Gox scanned the room, and saw an energon dispenser normally used for giving a patient needed energon. The small spider let his wings unfold from his back, and he gave a small leap before he started flying to it. He landed on the top of the machine, and then crawled directly cowards towards the type that did the actual dispensing of the precious blue liquid. Gox sniffed some to pinpoint and confirm that the tube was where the energon came from, and then he put his tiny mouth around it, covering the top with his fangs, and started to suck the energon from it. MMMM. Delicious.

Shadow-Strike: If you feel that way then I won't argue this is the right profession for you.
Raising an optic ridge at the spider that began to climb out of Hotwire's back his facial features quickly readjusted as he relaxed again, his intrigue causing him to watch the little creature as it scurried around. This wasn't the first time he had seen a quintesson insignia and he was well aware the creature itself wasn't a quintesson. However the fact he'd so casually left Hotwire and appeared to be giving her space to talk with him did cause some confusion as he turned back to Hotwire.
Shadow-Strike: So did you find anything interesting on your travels?

"Hmmm? Oh, yes," Hotwire gestured at Gox, "That's Gox; he's some sort of... Quintesson-made... thing... When he chooses to hook up to somebody, he gives them more power and speed for a little while. And some sort of psychic link. He helped me out a bit back in the forest. So I figured, 'well, why the hell not?' and brought him back here."
She stretched, "It's just a temporary boost though. Personally I wouldn't want to have to permanently rely on anybody other than myself."
She looked back at Shadow-Strike, noting that he was being somewhat more personable with her than he had been the last couple of times they'd talked. He wasn't very good at it, but it seemed that he was trying.
"I don't think it's possible to force him to do anything though. To be honest, I've never used fighting-based gadgets before; it's a new sensation for me."
