The door knocked.
And Chaff knew it was Kick-Start because the knock came from about ten feet lower than most knocks.
Outside his door, she tapped her foot impatiently. Skywarp didn't need any further repairs, and she had fixed herself up. Now she was simply interested in what Chaff had to tell her that she didn't already know.
"Well? I haven't got all day."

Chaff heard the knock, and he put his servos behind his back. His new servo was functioning just fine. With it, he opened the door. Chaff's helm tilted downwards to peer at the fourteen foot medical officer. Chaff himself was twenty four feet, shorter then most vehicons, so he had a tiny taste of what it was like to be looked down on. Probably not half as bad as Kick-Start though. After Kick-start came in, Chaff shut the door behind her.
"Alright, so, about the rebellion-against-Shockwave topic." Chaff said, silently wishing he had been able to cable himself upside down before she had made her entrance. It was a real shame he couldn't have. "To the point, I've heard Starscream scheming to over throw Shockwave. Now don't think that I'm surprised at this, given Starscream's record, but I'm just saying someone should thwart him." Chaff said, as he picked up one of his favorite wrenches. he then proceeded to activate his voice recording of Starscream, for proof.
'Ah yes, brilliant idea. We will strike when he least expects it. Tell me, do you have a plan? Knowing you, I'm sure it'll succeed. Oh, let us keep this quiet. Only we two can know about this, remember, if someone overhears about this scheme, a loyalist to Shockwave will report about the situation.'
The recording stopped. Chaff still had his visor fixed on his wrench, before he proceeded to talk. "Not much of a recording, but I'd say it's enough to tell you he's scheming with someone. After I heard that, and kept it with me, they stopped. I know that Starscream is plotting, as I've said before. The other person hardly spoke." Chaff said, "As in either his mysterious coworker liked speaking in code, or he or she liked speaking in whispers." Chaff said, Breakdown's voice emitting from his helm. Chaff then waited for Kick-start's reply, though in his processor, he was already calculating what she was going to be doing with this information.

Kick-Start listened to the message, grinding her teeth.
"It's Black Sun," she said finally, "He's scheming with Black Sun, I know it. When I was operating on her, he came in and showed such interest in her lost memories. I learned that Lord Shockwave removed them deliberately but failed to give her new ones... a simple oversight on his part."
She tapped her foot thoughtfully.
"I don't need to know his plan. I know him. He's clearly arranging some kind of revenge trip, using her to aid in assasinating our Lord Shockwave, then taking his place in the resulting confusion. It must be dealt with. One way... or another."

If Chaff had been solving the puzzle with Kick-Start, he would have said, 'No duh.' But since he was trying to just put a spot light on Starscream, he was a bit disappointed at first. Then after a short calculation, Chaff realized he could still use this situation to his advantage, even more then her could have before. So he just kept his cool as he went along with her, giving him his second rate-deck of cards.
"I dunno. I just usually work in my lab here, like you do in the medical bay, so I really am not too sure about how things work out there..." Chaff trailed off, then stroked his chin, as if he was thinking a bit hard on something. "Though come to think of it, it probably was Black Sun. Maybe..maybe we should find out a way we could keep an eye on them, and then report to the big guy with the hexagon head." Chaff mused, as if he was considering it deeply. He scratched his helm.
Shockwave was going to definitely find out about Black Sun now, if he hadn't already.
"Um, what we could do is bug them..." Chaff said slowly, he was acting quite natural, as if he always a bit slow when it came to serious thinking. "Confound experimental programming, makes me glitch all the time. Although, we could just make some bugs, put it in their systems, and then keep track of them that way. Everything they see or do we could have on a camera or something." Chaff said, as if the idea may work.

"We have proof. Stopping the problem ourselves would prove myself even more valuable to Lord Shockwave..." Kick-Start mused to herself. She hadn't been here long, but the Commanders all knew of her unerring loyalty towards Shockwave - lacking the mindless, grovelling quality of some of the less intelligent, capable of reinterpreting his orders as necessery, and the common sense to not expect any affection.
She looked up at Chaff, tapping one red heel curiously.
"But you equal my rank, Chaff. Why haven't you already warned Lord Soundwave about this obvious infraction? Are you so uncertain that he can trust you?"
Another thought occured to her, as she looked around the room. And why was there nobody else but her? Were there so few loyal to Shockwave? It wasn't as if people admired Starscream's backstabbing ways.

Chaff tapped his fingers together as he took a seat, the wrench balanced in his servo, partly wedged between his thumb and his pointer finger as his digits tapped together. Chaff cocked his helm, seeming to consider Kick-Start's question. He was an equal rank...true...did he trust Shockwave? Chaff could really have said several things to this, but he decided against speaking a portion of his mind for once.
"An excellent question Kick-Start. To tell Hexagon Head of this...I find it a rather colorless approach. Spreading information is an art." Chaff said, as if that was his soul purpose. Artistically playing things out. And half the time, it was. Chaff nodded to himself, and then glanced to Raiza, who was resting peacefully on the berth. He had sedated her not thirty minutes ago, and she was sound asleep.
Chaff then let his vertical visor gaze it's emotionless, yellow glow. Chaff himself wasn't at all emotionless, but his mask did indicate no thought of his, just like all vehicon masks. Chaff switched a portion of his personality for a moment, deciding to give the Breakdown portion of him a rest, and for him to resume another alias, so that he could have another voice, and way of thinking for a bit. Chaff had a confusing way of thinking this way, but he often could think partially like the person he mimicked, if he knew them well enough.
"Another answer to the same question is that Hexagon Head hits multiple notes when his attention is caught...you do not simply discuss a single topic with him. He is an efficient multi-tasker, and also his own actions for those who work closely to him are questionable, in my standards." Chaff had continued tapping his servos together. Vos had been a strange selection, and a bit of a give-away too. Oh well.

Kick-Start began to pace, her heels click-clacking as she did so. She hadn't missed how Chaff called Shockwave 'Hexagon Head'. Hardly respectful.
"Lord Shockwave? You think his actions are questionable?" she looked at Chaff with a swift glare. He could practically see her filing that statement away for further examination. Kick-Start analyzed everything. She hadn't gotten her post by being mindless muscle. She had gotten her post by having an intellect that could grind a mech into the dust for her, and equalled Shockwave's.
But she continued in her musings.
"But... Lord Shockwave is deeply preoccupied with the Autobot prisoner at this moment. Bugging Starscream is a plan most devious and cunning in its intricacies," her voice took on a cutting and sarcastic edge, "But to prove it, we must also bug Black Sun."
Despite her vast intelligence, Kick-Start had a bad habit of losing focus about half-way through a sentance. Multi-tasking was hardly her cup of tea.

((Raize, in case you were waiting for the green flag, you can wake up now.))
Chaff saw the opportunity to answer the questions she asked quite tempting. But, to tell her some of his thoughts on Shockwave wouldn't be too good. He had already on purpose shared some of his views on the Lord.
"Good idea." Chaff said in ancient primal vernacular cybertronian, as if she had just got him started on a very deliciously bad plan. Oh, his voice ringed with the tiny thoughts he could be having...but Chaff had already started off on his little plans, and what Kick-Star had said had been exactly what Chaff had been waiting for her to suggest. Yes, to bug them both. Exactly. Beautiful. If Kick-Star kept playing into his hand like this, then things would be going terribly. Which was exactly why he knew she wouldn't play into his plans, since she was smart enough to know not to play into his servo when she realized she was. On another note, Chaff got to speaking, switching over to his brother's voice, since Graph had a clearer way of thinking.
"So. The question is, who's going to design the bugs? You know that obviously I don't like Starscream, but you know I might do something rash if I make his bug...so I guess that leaves me with the SiC's....right? Or are we just going to talk about bugging them both? Because honestly, the job won't do itself." Chaff offered casually. "And yes. I am a scientist, and all scientists find other scientists acts questionable until further analysis. He finds me weird, and I find him weird. But I work for him, because I was programmed to do thusly, because he's the freaking Decepticon leader for a good reason. Maybe I just work for him differently." Chaff said. It was an honest to some parts. Chaff agreed that Shockwave was a capable leader 100 percent...

"True, true... Although my greatest talents lie in surgery, not design..."
You're being terribly helpful for somebody who didn't tell Lord Shockwave about this straight away. You're sharing information that, had you handed it in alone, even later, would have done you even more credit. It's terribly convenient that the person who could assist you most is the person you summoned...
Those and a million other points passed Kick-Start's mind.
Oh, she knew how to read a Poker face. Or in this case, a Poker voice. Chaff kept changing his voice chip. It was distracting. But you didn't raise the stakes by going all in straight away... She knew Starsceam's plan, but she didn't know Chaff's plan.
And of course nobody of her intelligence could possibly be expected to play straight into somebody's hands.
You know... unless they were...
Unless they weren't...
You're not the only scientist in this room, sweetie...
"Good idea!" she smiled brightly, "And then I'll ask Black Sun to come in for a check-up, after all, I did ask her before, and since Starscream is going on a new mission, doubtless he will return with a need for a visit to the med-bay and install it then... What do you think?"
Round and round the little ball goes. Where will it stop? Nobody knows...

Chaff was enjoying how this femme was acting. So far she was doing what he wanted. However, the question was was she doing what she wanted to, or was she wanting to want to do what Chaff wanted because she was willing to? Chaff stopped tapping his fingers together. What do I think...good question... Chaff thought to himself.
"I think I can supply you with some bugs. Each person needs a special bug in a special place..thanks to their body shape." Chaff said distantly, as if he was chewing on his own words as he spoke them. Chaff then proceeded on to what each bug could do in his kind. Starscream's? Yes, it would constantly record what he was saying. Black Sun's? Well, hers would have extra alterations with it.
Chaff shrugged, "Of course, being a Decepticon talking to another Decepticon, we both are going to make adjustments to this plan, to either benefit ourselves or benefit Shockwave." Chaff said, knowing that here came a time to mix in some good ol' flat out honesty. "So. You tell me what you have in mind for both of them, and I'll tell you what I have in mind." Chaff said, still using Graph's voice. Kick-Start had a possibility of saying what she had on her mind...but Chaff was the designer here. She very well may say something that would benefit Shockwave, and then make a last minute adjustment. Or vice versa. Chaff had a trick up his sleeve for that though, since he knew how to play with the smarter mechs and femmes. The funny thing was, clearly they both knew both of them were playing a game...
KickStart was a small femme who was in charge of Medicine. You didn't just pick that up like a foot ball, you had tone downright keen for the position.
She had probably already calculated that Chaff was playing dumb, but she was probably playing dumb as well. There was the off chance she was believing him, as a hardcore loyalist. It was then that Chaff recalled something; The best loyalists are the smartest. She's going to be a multi-tasker, playing her own game as well as working for Shockwave...so that leaves me on the fun side.

Having been asleep for a long time, Raiza's red eyes finally managed to wake up as the sedation wore off. She moved her head around slowly and gave a small groan that could be heard. Her optics were now completely awake. She looked around and saw Chaff talking to a femme. "Chaff, wha--what happened?", she asked him as she finally managed to hold her head as she sat up on the berth that she now realized that she was on. "I freaked again, didn't I?", she said in an 'oh great' tone.

"I don't understand.... as a Decepticon, I have no greater desire than to unite all Cybertronians under one strong leader - Lord Shockwave. Why would either of us something special added?"
It was exactly the sort of thing a hardcore loyalist would say. Actively denying any reward greater than glory for the Decepticon Army. It didn't help Chaff to know that it was Kick-Start saying it. 99% of loyalists were mindless grunts, even the clever ones. Kick-Start might be there, ready to snitch on him if she thought he was a traitor.
Then again, she might be a member of the 1% that had an agenda that would take you out faster than a POKE.
"Oh well. It doesn't matter," she smiled again, "Since by your own admission I am more trusted by Lord Shockwave than you, all the data recorded can be stored on my database. I'll keep you updated and then when we have decided this isn't just another failure of Starscream's little plots, you can come with me when it is delivered to Lord Shockwave, since you seem to be nervous to do so alone..."
Oh yeah. Round and around, round and around...

Chaff first addressed Raiza, who had just woken up. Chaff wasn't at all annoyed to see her up and running, though his thinking mode was a bit soiled now since he had to switch where his attention went. Chaff turned around to face Raiza, "Yep. You lost it back there, so I sedated you. You're better now, I reckon." Chaff was using Graph's voice now, instead of Breakdown's, which had been the voice he had used when talking to Raiza. Chaff then turned his helm to look back at Kick-Start. Predictably, she denied doing anything for herself. it was likely that she actually was a bit selfless, since she was a medic, and sacrificed her own time to mend the wounded. Still, everything was playing ou as Chaff had hoped so far, so that was good.
"Hey." Chaff put his servos up, like he was about to catch a foot ball, "If you had been sent to his academy, and then programmed to do his bidding, and then you saw that he pretty much killed one of your old friends, you'd be scared too. Not that the particular old friend didn't have it coming, bout it was still a bit stunning." Chaff said, though his voice was still sly and careless.
"Now," Chaff said as he pulled two needles out of his subspace, both attached to a string of yarn, which unfolded from his subspace as well, "I will give you the data, and I'll make the bugs." Chaff thus began knitting, though his helm still faced Kick-Start. "Both you and I have seen Black Sun though. She's prone to see her past, and want to give Shockwave the smallest ounce of revenge, so bugging her will probably be the best. Now you're probably wondering why i'm doing this for Shockwave. Well, scared of him I may be, but duties are what I still have. Plus, he supplies is the one who grants me access to resources so that I can do what I like doing most; create." Chaff stated thoughtfully, as his needles intertwined as they clicked together. The game was going nicely for hum so far, because Kick-Start was taking measured, and planned steps to make sure that Shockwave would indeed get the information. The key was, to make it a bit of a fight for her so that she would think that he didn't want Shockwave to get the information at first. Thus, she was making him do what he hated, which was approaching Shockwave, but she was making him do what he wanted, which was delivering information, and setting up his 'play ground'. Chaff kept knitting, waiting for his play-mates response.

If you wanted to make yourself look like a loyalist, you should have stopped at 'duties'...
Kick-Start smiled peacably. She was already working out in her head how to get the highest amount of information to Lord Shockwave, and potentially proving Chaff was a douche.
In fact, the game was going marvellously. She had no idea of what Chaff truly wanted. He had little concern for Lord Shockwave's reign, that was for sure.
She smiled again. Let Chaff think she was nothing more than a boot-licker. Let him make silly little plots for promotion and ingratiation. She knew what she wanted, and while she could have gotten it without Chaff, well, it surely would be entertaining to involve him and his petty plans.
"I'm glad for you," she grinned widely, "Do come to my Med-Bay when it's ready... I'm much too busy to call in on you."
She walked back out the door again.

Chaff grinned behind his mask as he let the femme walk out. He then began working out what kind of bugs he was going to design. It would be simple. As for Kick-start...she was a loyalist, so she would do her thing, and since she was quite brilliant, she was probably finding a way to soil his plan, and get the better of him somehow for Shockwave's sake. Still, his mission had been accomplished here. Everything was going according to plan, and it was a good sign for a plan which had just been made up an hour ago.
This plan, however, was no ordinary plan. It was something that Chaff would call art, if he lived to tell the tale. Let's see...I'm not shooting for a place to put my name in history, honor, glory, loyalty, attention--hmm. But if this plan works, then I can totally have the privilege of finishing a master piece. Chaff thought. Though deep down, perhaps a tad of what he was doing was out of loyalty. Chaff put a servo over his spark chamber in remembrance of his lost twin, and then set to work on the bugs he was creating. Wires were measured, cut, and metal was wielded, sliced, and molded. Chaff raised a blacksmith's hammer, and with it formed some of the out shells of his bugs. He created a special one for Black Sun, since she was in for a ride. He kept tinkering, the sounds of his tools and hammer sounding throughout the hallways, as Chaff created his bugs. One was for Starscream, and one was for Black Sun.
Shame that Kyra can't keep me some company...or Thunderbolt for that matter...she was a good lab assistant while she lasted. Chaff suppressed a sigh as he continued to work.

"Maybe I belong in an Asylum for the cybertronian insane", Raiza recalled as she finally sweeped her legs on the edge of the berth she was on and pulled herself up. She felt a little dizzy as soon as she did so. She then noticed the dent that she left on the table when she was about to go to her crazy side. "I'm sorry about that. I did warn you", she said to him with a small sigh while her servo went through the dent in the table.

Chaff continued to work on the bugs. Now that he had created the out shell for Black Sun's bug, he would be performing micro surgery to create the next step of how her bug functioned. It would be quite unique. Chaff never looked away from his work, knowing that if he did, he would lose concentration. Speaking being a specialty however, he managed to respond to Raiza with Breakdown's voice once again.
"I wouldn't say that. Maybe some surgery could be done on your brain module, and you'd be fine." Chaff responded with a friendly tone, never ceasing to create something out of the parts before him. He pieced something together, and stated filling up a little object with some liquids, which he injected into the wall, pod-like object. Chaff went straight to sealing it shut, but applying a fuse.
"The dent in the table is nothing really. I've had worse to fix up here...like that one time I had created a predicon in here, and I forgot to give her some additional intelligence. She completely gathered all my tools, and then made a nest out of it. Pretty hard to clean up after. Me and Thunderbolt had to put some real effort into fixing that one." Chaff finished his pod like object, by carving in a few vein-patterned marks into the pod, and then setting it down on his work table. He stroked his chin as he looked over it, as if scanning it for anything wrong.

Raiza sighed with a blink of her optics and looked at Chaff. She loved the way Breakdown's echoed back to her. He was a comforting mech; they both had each other's backs. And Knockout's. She nodded to Chaff's advice about her processor and he dent in the desk. "You met Thunderbolt? How is she? I never have heard from her for a while. What happened?", she said to him, eager for the answers.
