((Thank you for making me a thread Feenixfire.))
Well this sucked.
First, Vaqus had just tagged along into a battle so that he could help his friend one more time, and now here he was, grounded. It only made the shape-shifter think of his times as a sparkling. Vaqus sighed. He glared at the thought of the over-bearing Burnout. 'I'm the leader,' He had said. 'You respect me and your team.' He said. Of course he was the fragging leader. He had Feenixfire and Gearchange to back him up, 'Our son is leader, because he wants o be. Deal with it.' Vaqus scowled behind his mouth guard. It didn't help that Vaqus liked to be in water while Burnout appreciated fire's burning qualities over this rather soaked. Vaqus wanted to punch a wall or something he was getting so darn angry, when he decided that would be too immature. So the mech got to the floor, and started to do trans-ups.
Exercise always calmed the mech down. The russet brown mech felt some of the anger fade away, but he still felt like he needed to get even with that mech for having the nerve to indicate there were castes in the academy. Vaqus felt wave after wave of anger and loathing feeling wash over him, before it all subsided, and he calmed down. He was not to be the one to act immature. Vaqus's rotors began to whirl heavily, then sag as the mech shook his helm at himself. Holding a grudge was not a wise thing. He would just have to deal with Burnout. Vaqus knew that if he really didn't want to hold a grudge, he would com-link Burnout right now and ask for forgiveness, but it was the fact that Vaqus had said he was genuinely sorry before Burnout had trooped in with his little speech regarding who was gong to be respecting who. If Vaqus had been still allowed to punch that guy in the face, he would take it. Still, he would have to rogue him and all, and try to give not making an enemy a shot. Riiiiight....easy there Vake, just take it slow. Examine the plank in your own optic before you look at the spec in Burnout's. Easy... Vaqus cooled himself. First thing Vaqus knew was his problem, was that he really had no respect. For anyone.

:: Hey Vaqus, I hope I’m not bothering you. Just want to say thank you. I am really grateful that you came and help, and sorry for getting you into this mess. I didn’t expect we would get grounded. Yeah, sorry about that. By the way, have you seen Diamond lately? I don’t think I have seen her around… ::

Vaqus had been doing push-up after push-up, he huffing as his metallic cables contracted and relaxed repeatedly. Vaqus had lost count of how many he'd done, he had been sucked up in just doing them. The dark russet and blood maroon mech's arms began to ache after fifteen minutes flew by, and at last, with his strength tested and energy spent, he toppled over, before gathering himself and slumping himself against the wall. He vented heavily, exhausted by how many trans-ups he had done. or push-ups. Or whatever. Vaqus still had his visor over his optics, thus he felt clear to close his obscured eyes. Might as well get used to this...I'll just end up in Prison soon. Vaqus mused wearily.
Before he could venture anymore in his mind, Aerojet called in. That Aerojet--he sure can be a darn faithful mech. Primus bless him. Vaqus inhaled, causing some raspy hissing to produce from his mouthguard.
::No worries Aero. Its a bad habit of mine to get into some kind of trouble. As for Diamond....I have not seen that femme in a long time.::
Vaqus sighed through the com-link message. He had only been supposed to be Vaqus for a few minutes. Not two hours, but twenty minutes. Now he was getting set up for a brand new adventure already. It was something that frustrated him. Primus I need to get out of trouble and stay out of it for Silvershot's sake. She's gonna kill me after this. Vaqus frowned at himself, but since he really had noting to lose as a student--
::When do you want to start looking? I mean, how long were we supposed to be grounded again?::

"Anyway, I really want to thank you for coming. After all, coming to help is very risky. I mean, that vehicon is a fully trained soldier and the situation was quite dangerous." Aero said sincerely. He felt quite lucky that he had Vaqus as his friend, and he silently said to himself in his head that he would never forget this. He then sighed a bit as he heard Vaqus' question, "I don't know... I mean, should I really look for her? I don't think the loss of Halberd was easy for her and what if she still wanted to be alone and cope with it by herself? But it's been quite a long time since I last heard any news about her and I'm starting to feel a bit worried... And according to Primal, we are supposed to be grounded for a week, I think?"

Vaqus sighed, shaking his helm at the reply. Yes. Diamond had decided to deal with matters by herself, no doubt trying with all her might to just push through her little emotional block. And she was still gone, doing her whole maturity gig, where she just became super tough after losing a family member all by herself. How Noble. How grown-up. How stupid. She's no doubt in trouble. Any moron could've guessed that if you don't see one of your emotional friends disappear on a journey for inner peace or something like that for a month or so they're in trouble. This silly little war always makes it turn out that way. With her luck, the best-case-scenario is that she's getting brainwashed or something. Vaqus almost muttered to himself. Brainwashed? Yeah, it had come off the top of his mind. Some people would ask why he'd think such a thing could happen, but he would simply retort; 'Why the heck not?'. Seriously, there was the basic evil and deceitful Decepticon, and then there was the deviously twisted and demented kind of people who would do whatever it took to get their job-aka-hobby done.
But whatever. Vaqus would just have to team up with Aerojet, break rules, get scolded, save the girl, and most importantly be awesome. Not that he was prideful or anything, but the way Vaqus saw it, awesome was like cash you had in the bank. Some people had enough awesome to pull of really cool stunts, strategical maneuvers, or have fore-sight. Others were pretty poor at it, and you could tell they tried to get Awesome but they really just failed. Vaqus wouldn't venture to think up a few quick examples since he had much bigger things to worry about besides how much masculinity he had banked up.
::No problem Aerojet. You'd be surprised how much I'd be willing to do for you---and how much I would do for you even if I was different. Don't ask about that first sentence....but just remember that for me okay? I'm a shape shifter and all you know.:: Vaqus had paused in his sentence, placing a riddle in it because in all Aerojet's innocent faith, and in all Aerojet's kindness---one good turn deserved another.
::grounded for a week? Maybe I could set up some dummies or something in our rooms, holo imagery, with voice recordings to respond to certain words or something. Or maybe I could just rip the ventilation shaft off, though Feenixfire Primal would probably see that coming---but it'd be for a friend, so in my book that's worth breaking ten rules if not a hundred at least.:: Vaqus told the mech on the other end of the channel. All of the sudden some refreshment reached Vaqus's peds. The Aquatronian looked down to see water leaking into his room. how odd, but hey, it was water so he didn't have a problem. It definitely was an optic-ridge raiser though. What...what was going on outside? Vaqus narrowed his optics, before trying the door. if a flood was about to burst through, at least he could swim.
::Aerojet, my room's leaking water. If yours is doing the same, I'm testing the door. Don't test your door unless you know how to swim.::

Vaqus was hit by the full force of water, and thus knocked to the ground, only to be cushioned by the water which quickly chusioned his fall. His room was almost instantaneously enveloped in water, which phased the mech for a second. He had seen this little problem coming however, so he wasn't too surprised by the water. While some would have said Vaqus had been a bone-head about opening the door, Vaqus would have simply replied that water was his thing, and he wouldn't be harmed like most of the fire elementals in the academy. Vaqus would have transformed, if it had to been for what came through his mouth guard.
It was really weird. All Aquatronians knew water when they tasted it, all mechs and femmes from the ocean planet could live with what was in the water, and tell it's texture like the grades of energon; they could tell the slightest differences between the salty oceans and the less salty ones, the subtle difference was something that all Aquatronians were able to put their finger on. When Vaqus gave a small inhale with his mouth guard, which had been switched so that he could vent properly in water, Vaqus did not swallow. While his mouth-guard's filter did catch the majority of the sedative element in the water, he could taste the difference between this water and the water he swam in in the vacation spot with his friends. It was like tasting something fuzzy, and though Vaqus did not recognize what precisely was in the water, he gave a sharp exhale, applying his mouth guard to suck and force all the water he had just put in his mouth out. Bubbles and the aforesaid liquid came out of the mouth guard rapidly, fast enough for Vaqus to not get knocked out, but feel a little raised still nonetheless. Uhnnnnnn.....Yeesh---this stuff make me feel like I just woke up from a six hour sleep. Vaqus almost mumbled. So what to do about his ventilation? Just switch his mouth guard back to it's air-filtering system, using the receivers of air in his back. The cords of his mouth guard was there after all. It was something he had installed for emergencies, such as a friend running out of air, or too poisonous water for him to navigate in. This scenario filed under the latter.
Vaqus began to vent normally again, but he still remained were he was. He shook his helm, willing himself to stay awake, there had been a very very small amount of sedative that had gotten past his mouth, but not enough of it to make him fall asleep. The twenty one foot Aquatronian got to his feet, or tried to, but shuddered back to the ground. He was still in his apartment, so technically he hadn't broken the rules---The rules! Frag 'em. If this water's poisoned, this isn't a real emergency. This is a test. Or most likely a test. Feenixfire probably is testing us, seeing which one of us will figure this all out. If I leave my room, I probably won't be a 'good boy'. Hmm. So that means I play by the rules of her game. First I need to know some of the players... Vaqus thought. He didn't shut his door, since he still needed a moment to recover.
::If anyone already didn't guess, the hallway's flooded. The water has sedative agents in it, so don't swim. Also, I believe it's safe to say this is a test. Now, Burnout, you're supposed to be the bright one, being a fire elemental in all, so what's your play? Oh, and if any of us get too discouraged to press on or anything like that, make sure to have a really awe-inspiring speech to whip out. Because that is totally in your script dude.::

:: My thoughts exactly Vaqus, now since Burnout and I have also discovered this, there is a student sized vent, conveniently placed on the ceiling above in every room, we bust out. ::

Vaqus chuckled behinc his mouth-guard at what Burnout said. Man, this guy sucked with come-backs, but on the bright side, at least he was standing strong and giving legit orders. Though Vaqus wouldn't want to obey them since they would be playing into Feenixfire's claw, he would have to if he didn't want to be kicked off. Then again, what if he just--what if he just swam away and never came back? These guys weren't his family or anyone he really cared about. Except Aerojet. No, Vaqus couldn't leave. Aerojet was still here, so values would have to stick around for a little while longer. For Aerojet. But just him. Everyone else could have drowned in this mess for all Vaqus cared. Vaqus grimaced at the thought. Had he just thought that? Vaqus imagined an elaborate picture of him just swimming off, leaving everyone to die. He couldn't be that mech--that was being a monster. But he would just have to tread carefully. Vaqus rolled his optics,
::Fine. Water level actually is already lapping the ceiling of my apartment, though the laxative isn't going to be affecting me too much thanks to my mouth-guard. So I guess that makes me the kind of unit who can be expendable and get people out of the water. I'm going to get Aerojet as of now, so don't get cold feet about him. So, I'll be on what you say. But allow me to ask; who exactly made you leader? I'll take your advice every now and then, but I would like to know did you like, win a match with all the students in a spar, or were you automatically selected because your mother's the Prime, and your Father was the Maximus? I don't work well with favoritism, that's all. ::
Vaqus's tone was not jealous, but it was definitely not respectful nor disrespectful. Vaqus found the ventilation shaft behind him, and the mech planted his feet into the wall, wrapping his servos around the ventilation lid and pulling. Vaqus narrowed his optics behind his visor, pulling, giving the wall-screwed ventilation shaft his strength in his time of slightly woozy feeling. The ventilation shaft entrance gave in, and the vent lid was ripped off, sending Vaqus back a few feet in the water before he swam into the already flooded vent. He navigated rather easily, and when the ventilation shaft turned upwards, where the water did not lap at the ceiling just yet. Vaqus pushed himself upwards, swimming or sub-climbing in the confined space. Vaqus thus began to climb upwards, where the vent would lead to the tunnel over the rooms that he had spoken of. Upon heaving his heavy chassis over, the dwarf like mech gave a long rasp, switching his mouth-guard to be able tp allow him to breath in normal air. The much clearer ventilation cleared some of Vaqus's, with that the mech began to make his way for Aerojet's quarters, since he didn't know the mech for being able to just rip things off with raw strength.

Vaqus kept crawling through the ventilation shafts, the more he sucked in the air through his mouth guard, the more he felt like himself. Air. It made his hydro blades sore. it made him think of the vast outdoors, where there was a sky, stars, a place to just--be himself. Entirely. Vaqus gave a small moan as he travelled, but he just kept himself emotionless. He missed some of his old family...Vaqus continued through the passageways as the sound of water slowly coming up sounded, which caused Vaqus to quicken his pace for Aerojet's quarters. Burnout's com-transmission made Vaqus just want to sigh louder. Really? Feenixfire was pulling that card? 'I see something special in you'? Good grief. Well, if she had chosen Burnout, who just HAPPENED to be her son, then Vaqus could see ho special he was to her. But on the other servo, maybe he was just holding a grudge for no good reason, and he owed Burnout some slack. He hadn't given Burnout much of a chance, he supposed. Vaqus scowled at himself again. he still hadn't like how the mech had been over bearing, but now, when the students were undergoing a test were they could drown or rust, was not really a good time to complain or contemplate one's personal life problems.
::Hmmm. I find it a funny coincidence that she picks her son who she sees something special in, but whatever. I don't know if she had too much of a choice anyways, considering how the Chronobots are a bit---weird, Aerojet's more of a medic-kind of guy, I've been frankly a bit not-around lately, and there is the possibility you have some of your father and mother's leadership skills. Don't think for a second that that is a compliment. I am hypothesizing. And also don't be sorry. Like I said. I don't like favoritism, but I will work with you. We're far from being enemies, but I am not your friend either.::
Vaqus stated. He had not made his decision about what he really thought about Burnout. Burnout would just have to show Vaus what he had, and then Vaqus would pass his judgement when the time came.
