Spotlight: Riptide
Riptide groaned as he sat back in the captain's chair of his ship The Wavelength. It was supposed to be a simple bounty. Find the debtor, and bring him in to the people he owed. Nothing more, nothing less. Of course, that was until a decepticon fleet captured the debtor for some unknown reason. Now he and his crew of hunters were following them to the literal edge of the galaxy.
::Rip, we have a problem. The fleet looks like it's meeting up with a few other con warships. If engaging them before was gonna be near impossible, this is straight up suicide!::
Quill, a velocitronian who Riptide had hired on as a scout, reported in from the tiny stealth fighter she was in. Riptide had currently parked his ship on the other side of the moon that the con fleet was hovering by. He had sent Quill to the other side to scout out the opposition.
::Quill, we need this bounty. That guy owes our client a lot of money, and our client is willing to pay a lot of money for us to nab the sap. So we need to figure this out. Ideas?::
::*sigh* I was worried you weren't gonna quit. Alright, since it seems like you're feeling extra suicidal today I happen to have a few ideas.::
::Lay 'em on me. ::
::Alright, well, our best bet is to hack their comms and...
::On it, thanks.::
::Wait you didn't let me-
Riptide cut out the comm and motioned at Nix, a Quintesson who strangely harbored no hatred to the cybertronian race, to tap the comm line. The quintesson waved a tentacle at him before using his other tentacles to work the comms station in front of him. Soon, the deck of the ship was filled with the sound of decepticon voices from the flagship of the fleet.
So, this little runt has intel on the autobot forces eh? Heh heh, so, tell us it BEFORE I RIP OUT YOUR FRAGGING PROCESSOR!!
Drevon! Bite your glossa! Scaring him witless will not help our cause any.
Sorry Blackgate, my men and I have been scouring the galaxy for eons looking for any traces of the autoscum. We are kind of eager.
~Blackgate and Drevon seem to be the commander's of the ships. And the reason they picked up my bounty is because he somehow picked up the intel on some autobots, hopefully they aren't the ones I grew up...~
So! You say the main autobot forces are on Earth? That backwater planet? Sounds like bull scrap to me.
~And frag...~
No,it's the perfect hiding spot. Most consider the planet too primitive to even go near it. Yes... ready the warships! We set course for Earth as soon as possible! Drevon, take the debtor to the brig. We shall execute him after we raze Earth to it's core.
Riptide's optics widened as he listened. They had found out about Earth, his home. That little runt was surely the debtor, how did he have that intel? Riptide sighed and put his head in his servos. just being near decepticons made him uneasy, but now he knew that they were going to invade Earth.
~Primus help, the entire reason I left was to get away from the threat of a blasted war! Now I gotta prevent one, but I owe it to the bots...~
Alright, so we need to get on board now. Quill, come back and land next to the ship. I've got something resembling a plan...
~Now, time to figure out how to reclaim my bounty and destroy an entire fleet of cons... this is gonna be a long day...~
1 EARTH HOUR LATER
Did I ever tell you how good you look in stealth gear?
Considering all the times I've worn stealth gear, yes, multiple times. Don't you have a girlfriend back on Earth?
Jumped the moon on her, literally, a long time ago. A feeme like her probably has already found love again. So it's legal for me to flirt with you.
Right... why did you leave Earth again?
Things were getting too bland, I wanted a change of pace for once. Bounty hunting seemed as good as any.
There was something in Riptide's optics that betrayed him. Something like... regret. Quill raised an optic ridge.
Boss, what was the real reason you left?
I already told you Quill, now no more questions. Come on, we are approaching the flagship. Nix! Start the hailing signal!
The Quintesson complied and activated the signal. Soon, they were ushered aboard and greeted by a platoon of vehicons. Riptide stepped off the landing ramp and held his hands up. He felt a light tap on his shoulder, informing him that Quill was standing right next to him, cloaked. The leader of the platoon walked up to Riptide and spoke to him in a very monotone voice.
State your reason for landing here.
Haha, well you see, I am Captain Riptide. You've probably heard of me...
Riptide looked around the room to see a bunch of heads shaking.
Infamous bounty hunter? Dashing renegade? No? Alrighty then. Anyways friend, I am simply here to request a conference with your ship commander. You see, you guys are currently in possession of my bounty. Frail looking guy, owes some rich people a lot of money. I'm hoping to discuss retrieving him.
The commander nodded and motioned for Riptide to follow him. He felt a light brush of air as Quill took off down another hallway, towards the engine room. With her she carried an Energy Bomb, a highly dangerous weapon which Riptide had bought off the black market. She was going to plant it on the main reactor and charge up it's energy to the point of a super-nova like explosion. After setting the bomb, the plan was for Riptide to blackmail Blackgate into giving him back his bounty. Of course, after the blackmailing works, they activate the bomb and escape, therefore saving them money and saving an entire planet.
