The touch of war laid heavy in Esserlon, it's corrosive webs spreading across a city that had been ravaged in the conflicts that had occurred before the mass exodus of it's people. Now on every street barricades dotted the landscape preventing the probing assaults of those few scout forces that emerged from the savage rust sea. While massive anti-air emplacements thundered heavily both day and night preventing an approach from air that so rarely occurred after the landscape had been painted with the debris and bodies of those fearless enough to attempt such an attack.
Now both the vehicle's and it's former inhabitants served only as a message for the Autobot's who stepped out of the sea, faced with the devastation that had been brought upon their brothers in arms and left to rust for days and months. Their energon having painted the once silver surface of the outskirt fortifications a sickly purple that at times came to knee level with the invaders in the barren land between the city and the ocean of decay.
To those who came from deeper inland however, arriving on the Decepticon warmachines that trampled across tired carriageways and shot across the polluted sky their was little to be proud of in such a territory that had held of the enemy. The few buildings that remained standing where ugly and squat, hastily rebuilt for conflict with an enemy that would annihilate anything that wasn't fortified to the sacrifice of all else. Their was no celebration here, no claims of a brilliant race that had taken pride in the architecture of it's people. Here there was only efficiency built into the fortifications that where rectified without hope for a future when pride could be taken in buildings that pierced the sky and where detailed in the purest gold. Now only fortresses of war existed.
It was here coming from Kaon with a shuttle blazing with an emblem of allegiance across it's hull, that Ailnoth did arrive. Only to be met with little fan-fair as his vehicle landed in one of the shielded hanger bay's of the command center. The launchpad that had herald his arrival in Kaon a distant memory with the danger of a sudden attack proving far too risky to allow for unprotected entrance points.
Within the hanger was busy, although not in response to the commanders arrival as he stepped off the vessel the moment it's entrance ramp retracted to the floor below. Only his watchful optic caught the few guardmen that turned his way and continued to stare, not even dismissing the threat he possessed despite the familiarity of his face or the emblem stamped across it. These where mechs who'd been deceived before and paid a price that'd left them unwilling to trust until the threat was known. Ailnoth passed them by without a word, allowing the movement of launch crews, preparing for the mass operation that would occur soon, to pass him by without acknowledgement.
This was not a place for petty signs of power, when strength had been cut in large scars upon the land.
So Ailnoth continued, silent and quick in a way that Kaon's power struggles never allowed as he reached the command center's war room and stepped through with only the bare necessities of announcements before he was standing upon those who would be critical in the battle to come.
"If you have suggestions to make, make them now or hold the burden of a change you could have made here. If you have questions to ask, make them now or else hold the burden your ignorance shall cost those who stand aside you here in this moment. If you have something to bring to this table here then do so or hold the burden of your damning silence. If you have nothing to bring here, you should not be here. So leave."
OOC: This is the start of the Petrex battle and the staging ground of the Decepticon's before they journey across the Rust Sea.
Common IC knowledge for the Decepticon High Command (of which all Decepticon OC and canon characters are considered a part of)
- The target is the city of Petrex. - Their is three waves. The first is the smallest wave designed for a tactical assault on the enemy AA emplacements to allow the larger second wave to arrive unimpeded to capture the Pancontinental Expressway. After which the third wave, far too large to mobalize across the rust sea using shuttles or Rust-Sea capable land transports, can arrive using the expressway. - Their objectives are as follows; Destroy Petrex border AA emplacements, allowing for more shuttles to enter it's airspace with the second wave, Capture and Fortify Petrex's side of Pancontinental Expressway, Enter the city and fight towards central command center and activate the Petrex expressway and hold out till reinforcements arrive. - Petrex contains four major AA guns, along with five smaller defense arrays. The four AA guns removal is necessary for the second wave to begin, although the defense arrays are optional (although heavily encouraged)

Skystreak watched Ailnoth from his position. Being a jet, his form was rather large. He listened to the pressure given by they commander to discuss and ran through the information he was given again. "I have a question. What reconnaissance has been done in terms of what we are dealing with?"
A honest question to which the numbers they had to clear through. Knowing how many they were going to end up fighting would be crucial in a victory and proper knowledge of fortified positions would give way to a swift victory. Skystreak wasn't the only one who wanted the attack to be as quick as possible without sacrificing anything.
Plastered on his face was that of concentration, however a ghost of a smirk could be seen on his face. A blitz wasn't easy to plan without proper tactics and information and he took that very seriously, given that was his fighting style. Move quick, shock tactics, push on before they can pivot back.

A warp appears near Ailnoth. Backbeat and NeVor step thru. Followed by four Vehicons carrying a large device, it looks like some strange type of mortar. Backbeat directs them to set it down. Meanwhile, NeVor approaches Ailnoth. She gives a respectful bow.
" We bring a weapon to assist in this battle. One of Backbeat's associates delivered a masterpiece. We request it's use."
Backbeat walks over, motioning to the strange device.
' Let me introduce my newest acquisition... The Holomatter Attack Cannon... A mouthful I know... '
In the background, Vehicons load it onto a hoverlift. Backbeat snaps his fingers.
' See... You'll love this... This fires a very special type of ammo... Mini-drones equipped with holo-matter emitters... '
NeVor steps forward, the holo emmiters on her arms and hands glow bright blue as she raise her arms in the air.
" Which I can control. "
Backbeat crosses his arms.
' The holo-matter will be solid enough to allow for some real fun... '

Allowing his gaze to roam over the packed room, Ailnoth watched silently as a few of the mechs and femmes that had populated the room began to leave. Their inability to provide any benefit to the battle's planning that was to come giving them reason to depart as more of the Decepticon High Command arrived to take their place. With each of them receiving a minor acknowledgement in turn as the majority entered silently using their arrival to listen in on what those who had already been in the room beforehand had discussed.
In the case of a few mechs though they remained quiet, not out of an attempt to displease Ailnoth but understanding the information they carried was better withheld till the discussion revolved towards them. As was the case of Wraith, a mech on the outer edges of the room, who almost sulked in the shadows until Skystreak requested information from their scouts. Which caused the mech to perk up, as he stepped forward out of his own spot in the room and towards the center. With the attention that Ailnoth gave him in turn causing more than a few to look his way before he stopped aside the warboard.
"Information is limited with the Rust Sea. We're estimating between seven thousand to ten thousand soldiers garrisoned at all times, with an unknown smaller supply of reinforcements in the case of a major assault. The risk of getting caught and tipping them off about our intentions was deemed not worth the risk."
At that, Wraith tipped his head towards Ailnoth who nodded in response. The tale of Tyrest was already known by many of the group here as the scouting force of Tyrest had been caught unknowingly and left Decepticon forces entering a battle expecting barely more than a thousand men, only to find themselves facing 20,000 in the end with little more than 2,000 of their own. Few had escaped that mistake.
"Long range scouting did identify a number of structures of value however."
With that Wraith leaned forward tapping the warboard, as it suddenly flickered to a display of Petrex and it's surrounding area. Including the Sea of Rust and the Pancontinental Expressway, which linked Petrex and the city of Esserlon. Located between the Sea of Rust and the city itself, the main terminal of the Expressway was highlighted as a clear target that was on the outskirts of the Autobot city, although numerous structures that had been hastily set up in the land between the two places made it harder to tell where one ended and the other began. In the case of the AA guns that protected the city that was easier to tell however as they stood erected on much larger buildings than the rest of the city allowing them a clear view of the sky.
"Five heavy duty anti-air cannons are situated in a pentagon around the city."
After pointing at each spot with just enough of a pause at each one to give everyone time to memorize the information in their processor, he began pointing at a few of the smaller anti-air fortifications.
"These we believe are intended to fill in the gaps of their defense, close range small scale arrays like those from the civil war. Their a threat but not a priority, the cannons are the priority."
At that Wraith turned his attention to deeper into the city, closer to the center but not exactly at the heart of the settlement.
"Short range scans suggest consistent movement here. It's either the barracks or the command center, we're not sure."
"Disappointing but not unexpected with the limitations, any pathways?"
"This is where things have gotten better. Some of Shellshock's brood was involved in preparing our first waves infiltration, we have caverns that lead to each of the Anti-Air emplacements. They're close but their is some distance between them and points of interest since we couldn't risk exposure."
"Understandable, I think that's enough for now. Does this answer your question, Skystreak?"
Before he could receive an answer though Backbeat and Nevor arrived, their form of transportation or utter lack of care in turn allowing them to interrupt as the femme went through detailing the new weapon they wished to use. In response, Ailnoth simply stared his gaze not exactly judging but neither approving as he waited for her to finish before he laid his opinion.
"Your request is approved, Nevor. The forces of the first wave are going to be outnumbered till they complete their objective, your new weapon will be expected to distract the enemy so they can accomplish their mission. Do you understand your task?"

Even when the room reached near silent in those moments where Ailnoth or one of the other members of the room gained everyone's attention it never reached a perfect silence. For the most part that was due to the consistent hiss of the holo-projectors on the warboard, or the sound created from the wasted energy in the generation of quickly produced lighting fixtures above their heads. Around the mech known as Ethereal though another noise penetrated the veil of quiet.
A mechanical hiss which spat violently from somewhere in his frame followed by the crunch of liquids being forcefully pushed through damaged pipes, every time the mech moved. It was a blessing in that regard the mech stayed still for so long, like a horrible statue stuffed behind a thin cloak that had been chosen to conceal his appearance rather than hide him from anyone's awareness. Instead in a room where almost every other mech and femme was willing to reveal their frame, he stood out regardless of the clothing so atypical of those who hid in the shadows.
Still the cloak had it's uses as clawed digits fingered the material gently, almost lazily as he distracted himself with Wraith's briefing right up until the air nearby shifted. A warp in the area creating a vacuum that alerted him of a newcomer milliseconds before the new arrivals of Backbeat and Nevor had appeared. It only took that time for his servo's to flip and unsheath a pitsfire shotgun that was hidden underneath his attire and quickly resheathed when the intruder was recognized.
The clown and his clueless songbird where known to many.
Ailnoth's suggestion that the two serve as a distraction was amusing, enough so that Ethereal found himself laughing. His damaged vocal chords suffering the consequences as gaps in the remains of the mechanism caused the once appealing sound to rattle horribly across the room like a mech drowning in a pool of energon.
"Yes, send the fool. Maybe we'll get to that final punchline." He said, in a voice that sounded just as warped as his laugh while he stepped forward towards the couple and Ailnoth by extent. With only his shrouded white optics scanning Nevor for a moment longer than Backbeat before he turned towards Ailnoth properly. "I've walked the paths, I know the Insecticons routes to the guns. Send me with explosives to light the sky, and I shall accomplish everything your first wave needs."
With that the mech bowed to Ailnoth, an action that was respectful but uniquely horrifying in the squelching sound that came from his chest as he did so before rising again, his helm tilted ever so slightly in the femmes direction.
"Then when I bring your first step to victory, I may request a... suitable reward."

Backbeat lets out an amused laugh at the newcommer. Backbeat's head tilts, the lighting of the room making the shadows fall on his formless face plate like a grin. Crossing his arms, Backbeat gives an unimpressed look. His voice containing a smug sense of surprise. He was accustom to his allies mocking him, it proved that they felt like he was not a threat. Unlike Starscream, he preferred to play up his image as a madman, rather than trying to push his own importance. It allowed him less scrutiny to make his moves. This also assisted in his business outside of the war, as it's far easier to surpass a low expectation than exceed a high one.
' Ah the ghost... Still able to make noises from that atrocity you call a vocal emitter eh? But I do concur, a commando raid does seem prudent. '
Backbeat adds with a uncharacteristic seriousness. As much as he enjoyed making a spectacle of a battle, he only did that when he knew he could afford such. Victory sadly, overrode any desires he might have. It was a rule he kept to himself, as he had come to enjoy his persona as a clownish individual. Command gave him freedom to work, and his foes underestimated him. It was an excellent spot to be in, when one need to pull off the strategies he preferred.
' But I wouldn't make this a single bot job. No... A small team, three to four in number. No offence bed-sheets, but it's a better strategic move. That way we not only have the weapons destroyed... But the operatives needed to establish a foothold inside the Autobot's own city. Once this path is secure, depending on it's size and difficulty, we could move troops and supplies inside the city with ease. '
Backbeat turns his head to Ailnoth. While he had a less than stellar reputation, Backbeat's tactical acumen had always proved quite reliable. Although his penchant for complicated plans annoyed the more direct of the Decepticons.
' But that is our Commander's decision to make... '
NeVor notices the strange mech looking at her and gives him a psychotic smirk. To most Decepticons, trying to get her attention was a terrible idea, given her more animistic nature. Although she had no bestial mode, she acted much like a bird of prey. This could be a shock to those who only knew her more administrative and technical roles in Backbeat's organization. Rumors of disappearing vehicons and half eaten bodies seemed to follow each of her postings. Nothing concrete and most victims were later found to be traitors, but it made most wary. So her smirk was less of a returning affections, and more of a sign that she saw easy prey. A wounded animal that would soon be dead. She looks at Backbeat, giving him knowing grin.
" The one that sound's like he's dying wants a reward? "
' Can a dying man claim a reward? '
" What do you think a... Final reward is? "
Backbeat and NeVor start giggling at their little joke. Dispite their fearsome reputations, they both appeared to have a very infuriating (to everyone else) appreciation of bad jokes.

Skystreak, in his time back, hadn't really gotten to know any of the other vehicons that were a part of the Decepticon cause. Ailnoth was someone he had only heard about and Backbeat, despite being given no explanation as to who he truly was. All he had ever gotten on the mech was that he wasn't taken very seriously behind his back, no pun intended.
Still, he wasn't very impressed with the con who stood with the Femme. A drone launcher didn't seem revolutionary, but that wasn't the root of his qualms. Just something about his presence mad hum go 'ugh'. He was sure he would figure out why soon.
Then a very old Decepticon strode forward, if strode was more of an awkward stumble. He looked very damaged and almost dying. He asked to take some explosives into the do damage. While he appreciated the idea and would have backed it up, he didn't look like he was ready for any form of fighting. No doubt just a reason to go out in a blaze of glory and pray for enough luck to maybe survive and make his life worth more.
Then the clown started getting serious and laying out a basic idea that had nothing more to contribute. Skystreak frowned upon the idea, since special operations missions required a lot more than just a team. He chose to speak up again this time.
"I think we should take a different and more in depth approach than just sending in a team. Too much reliance with no backup plan. A three pronged strike may be good with what I have in mind."
He walked up to the holo projections on the map. Pointing to either side, he spoke directly to Ailnoth.
"We send in two ground oriented groups on either side with stealth in mind. There we have them breach the lines of the Autobots but not push through, and instead hole up and cause a ruckus. Then our scientist and their friend can go further in to lines and cause the reinforcements some trouble. Putting snipers up and far back, they can fire on the center most fortifications and cannons that fill in the gaps to thin out everything there. That is when I attack from the sky. These anti air cannons wouldn't expect an air raid so small and with my speed they won't hit me. My ordnance will punch holes in their line and cause chaos before moving further in and landing somewhere out of sight. The commando teams will either have to pull out or pull back so that they don't get overwhelmed after this. All the while another team uses the sniper cover to go through the middle, where least resistance would be, and get as far through as possible without sacrificing damage done." He continued to gesture on the projections his idea. He wasn't done, however, and only paused for a second.
"By then Autobot forces would no doubt swing back around to try to deal with the new team. That is when I come back and lead a new assault on the cannons. Sacrificing combat for speed, I can easily get in between the cannons and damage them. This will allow the second wave to come in. The arrival of the shuttles will cause the Autobots to panic and fall back to much better positions, as their main line had been battered beyond use. We will then be able to use our built up momentum to crush them." And with that he had finished. He looked up at Ailnoth, waiting for a response. In terms of tactics, he had been the only one to offer anything more than just a suicide rush or a very high pressured special operations team. It was up to the commander to take the plan or leave it.

A tall built boy walked into the room followed by a father larger built bot beside him. They found ways to the walls of the room and they both stood there leaning on the walls listening to the others plans and takeing in all the ideas. They did not open their mouths for what the came to contribute was their efforts. They figured a heavy hitter and a hacker/sniper would come in handy for a placement assault such as this.
Both of them turned there attention to Skystreak as he proposed his plan. This caused the slightly smaller built mech to stand up straight an dspeak up.
"where do you plan on placeing the snipers so that they are both out of range of the canons and unseen from the autobots long enough to do their part. You also need to take into account, the autobots might have set up snipers themselves he mentioned.
It was a completely legit question. How are they supposed to get the snipers to where they are without being seen by any of the defence set up in the city? Not only the city defence but they would need to watch out for autobot snipers as well. Their snipers might be able to find them before they can start their, or vice versa. But you needed to include everything in that and getting snipers to help take down the canons was good idea, it's a matter of keeping them their and how are you going to get them their without being seen in the bots eyes.

NightLock the Decepticon Medic and scientist walked into the Hanger, his white chassis completely covered in dried energon because of his work, he lifted his helm to look at the new Decepticon that just arrived, his three eyes watching him with an unblinking stare... "Pardon my Lateness, I had to ensure my patients could survive the for now." He told them as he eventually stood near the rest of the Audience his clawed servo's rubbing against each other to flake off the dried energon. "I can offer a solution for the Snipers, though Sadly I am not a combatant much myself. I offer the idea of using one of the Holoprojectors our dear friends' Backbeat and NeVor brought to act as a...camoflauge...or I could possibly offer a couple of shields that I still have lying around as a temporary cover for them." Nightlock wasn't much of a military strategist but he did give the ideas he thought were worth giving, as options anyway. his optics turned to the cloaked figure, "Confident arn't you? how is it you could succeed where many an Inzektoicon could fail? No, you can't if anything I would suggest you go with the Inzekticons to blow the tunnel may be you could prove useful in making sure they complete their task." He told him.

The crowd rippled with the edge to get things moving along instead of sitting on some stagnating round of; “i’m better than you” friendly fire being tossed around by the group at the front. Many were becoming irritated, but some entertained by all the commotion it was bringing. More were beginning to speak out- adding their thoughts into the pile. Some left; having their fill of the discussion, some came, others remained. The atmosphere was currently of mixed emotions with thoughts scattering around the board.
Closer to the ranks further in the back of the crowd shadowed by the indirect lighting in the high ceilings above stood taller, rougher group of mechs and females exchanging their darker vows but doing so quietly. One rather disgruntled looking figure clad in a more brighter slaughter of deeper oranges highlighted in black rimming blended in among his fellow comrades. Though the expression upon his faceplate looked ultimately more irritated. One of the seekers to his left muttered something beneath their vocals which was aimed to mock the pair suggesting the launch of vehicons from a catapult contraption. There was a ripple of approving laughter surrounding the orange warrior. His optics remained pinned upon Ailnoth in trusting that their fear-inspiring leader would be swift to drag the conversation popping up everywhere back to a normal level. The mech’s gaze flickered to the crowd in front of him, glaring between narrowed lenses as he knew he was about to make an idiotic decision instead of remaining silent with his peace of mind. He was just an average front-liner. Perhaps less than average as his lack of speech and communication left others to group him as having an inferior intellect, even a worthless member who’s only reason to remain in the ranks was simply due to the heavy firepower he packed. Yet when the creaking of his joints were joined with the dull thud of the heavier peds that rocked his corpse-stilled figure forwards- there were a few helms turned in surprise. Looks of confusion and murmurs of the irritable members rained down upon him in judgement- at least he felt as if that was what was happening. Despite his calm manner, mentally he was in shambles.
At least a few of his assumptions from a moment when one of the bullies of the ranks laughed darkly at his passing and spat the words out like venom towards him. He had been harassed by Scythe more than once, so it rolled off of his back with ease and allowed him to focus on the task at hand.
“So now the firetruck has something to say. Good luck getting roasted.”
The darker silver mech rumbled out to the passing being. Scythe knew a few of the secrets Kydro held, but he still had remained loyal in not spreading the rumors like wildfire. There was a respect between the two mechs despite the beatings they gave one another. Kydro simply lifted his optics to the grave frame of the Lord patiently responding to the individuals gathered before him. The amount of respect he had for their leader made him want questioning his actions. The fear of disappointing Ailnoth ran heavy in his spark and if it happened, it would surely haunt him for the rest of his life. However shortened that may become. One deep exhale through Kydro’s ventilation system brought his fiery mind to a calm. It took a minute to weave his way through the darker themed Cons that began to quickly clear a path out of his way until he was brought to the near front where most of the more outgoing characters stood. One smaller mech stood directly in the place he was going- so Kydro reached out a servo and placed it upon the bike’s pauldron plating. The mech’s eyes widened in surprise as he had been too deep in the conversations to of have noticed the towering figure behind him. Kydro could of have easily tossed him aside, but instead when the mech whirled around to face him, he used the lighter silver’s momentum to continue his spin until he was safely out of his way.
Two more steps and Kydro was brought to the front. His stance quickly straightened in a snap of movement, his right forearm crackling against his chest-plating in a salute of respect before the Con’s deeper vocals rippled from his frame.
“Greetings your Lordship. I would like to return to the mention of the use of the Caverns to reach the Anti-air weapons, and expand on this. If we use the Insection tunnels to reach those caverns, we can press deeper underground into the enemy territory. Perhaps by using the initial shock of the Canons being disabled and or eliminated to our advantage, we could use the element of surprise and rise up from the subway and express tunnels to flank the Autobot ground ranks. This could leave an opening for attack from the rest of the waves.”
He dipped his helm in respect and took a step back into the crowd. He pulsed with anxiety and uncertainty that what he said would be taken into account. He knew about the existence of the tunnels beneath the city from Kyra, she would of have known exactly what to say had she still been alive.

The snarl that erupted from Ethereal wasn't natural sounding at all, as his attention shifted from Ailnoth back towards Backbeat and Nevor. For a moment the sudden snap of his helm turning to face them almost made his cloak slip off, but just as quickly it seemed to be pulled back into position as he glared at them with his blazing optics.
"Your self-worth is deluded, your nothing but a joke well past it's time." He said, as his digits crunched painfully together underneath his cloak in an attempt to distract himself from the entrancing idea of simply pulling his gun out on both of them. Their was little doubt in his mind, their commander wouldn't appreciate him eliminating some of his men at this point, even if they where worthless.
So instead he stepped back, trying to calm the bristling flame of his anger as he turned back to Ailnoth. With a small portion of him hoping for a command that would send him to battle right this moment as the promise of future bloodbaths would surely soothe his spark.

(( kydro It's not launching vehicons)) Backbeat crosses his arms and looks at Ethereal, he noted how easily he had hit a nerve. It amused him ' Must you act so petulant in front of our leader? ' He then turns to the others. Clasping his hands together. ' NightLock hit upon an excellent idea... As have all of you. A small team, carrying some explosives, should take the tunnels. They will sabotage the southern facing guns. The first wave of the main assault will enter the city via the subway and other underground methods like Kydro said. Once a beachhead is established, we'll set up the H.A.C and launch the projector drones. NeVor's holomatter monstrosity will take the northern facing guns. This uses the same tech as holomatter avatars, so we will be able to crack those walls like glass. ' He motions to the Seeker. ' Depending on which team succeeds first, the fliers will attack that direction. You'll be in the remaining guns blindspot. Bombing runs and hit and run only... You'll be dealing with the majority of their focus since the guns are down. Minimize risks... ' He cracks his knuckles. ' While that happens, the second wave of ground support will assist which ever team hasn't taken their target. We'll need to act quickly... Once the two sides are disarmed we'll rush the command center, turning any remaining defenses on the Autobots and focus on eliminating remaining Autobots. ' He looks at the assembled Decepticons. ' I trust this is acceptable? '

When the Doctor arrived at the hangar, there was little notice, but for the fact that its insignia would have been checked, identity confirmed and then the pair of Decepticons allowed in. But for what dirt was sustained during the flight to the location, his frame remained pristine, without a speck of dirt or blotch of energon anywhere. He lowered Buildup to the ground first and waited that he was released from the cables that kept him in place. Once done the jet began to transform. His landing was graceful, and as he straightened out, he heard BuildUp follow suit. As always the other made more noise, not by the transformation itself, buy via his much heavier steps afterwards.
He nodded to his friend. They walked past the guards, the mnemosurgeon smiling pleasantly at them, while his companion simply walking on, his processor already in the plans on how one could have improved, and rebuild the section of the building they were in, plans for the whole complex as it was. It kept him busy, and it kept him not bored.
As they reached the group they moved a bit further to the front, mostly to see what was going on, as they would remain for the most part silent about the topic discussed. BackTrack scanned the surrounding mechs for any familiar faces and simply to see who was present. The Doctor briefly studied his own servos too a small smile crossing his derma, when he recognised a few of those, who had been under his needles before. A nice memory, indeed.
When they came in they might have missed most of the suggestions, but it was Backbeat that seemed to have summed it all quite well. It was to be seen if the plan was accepted. :: Optics to the front, soldier. :: He sent with an amused aftertone, still pleasant and calming, to BuildUp. ::Seems they're about to decide. You're in luck. :: Whatever that may have suggested.

He was coming in rather fast, at least for him. His jet mode wasn't the fastest one in the world, but it did its job with grace. The black figure kept himself high up as to be able to survey the surroundings. It was an impressive army they had gathered, but was it enough? He began descending rapidly, gaining speed as he neared the ground, but turning off his engines, letting gravity do the work. Before he would hit the ground, he transformed into his robot mode, the impact creating a small could of dust around him. The large mech began walking towards the meeting point that he had been given, and seen from up high. He was expecting the others to be there already.
He slowly entered the hangar, observing who were already there. A few familiar faces, but none on The List, meanign he wasn't all that interested in who they were. Grunts or commanders, scouts or bruisers. It made no difference to him, they all could be trialed for treason and subsequently executed. He had entered hearing range now, quietly listning in on the conversations going on. Some ideas were good, some weren't. That was how it usually was. He didn't know the full extent of the plans, nor who had said what before he arrived. He didn't want to barge in either, touching him would be most painful to anyone who was foolish enough to do so. Not always good, but there wasn't really a way to stop it from happening, at least not in his current state.
Now that he had heard the suggestions, Tarn decided to speak up. His chilling voice would come from the backlines, meaning that a few of them would have to turn around to see him while he could see all of them. Some of them were rather hard to miss, like Ailnoth and the giant. "Don't bother with snipers. They will be waste of metal. We are going into the Sea of Rust, they won't be able to find efficient spots. Not to mention there is a wall blocking the view for them. The tunnels seem like the best idea for an attack with minimal casualties from our side. However there needs to be a distraction, divide and conquer. We have artillery cannons, and I would suggest using them to blast the wall from a safe distance, to try to take out as many smaller anti-air arrays as possible. This would lead to us being able to send in dropships, filled with explosives, to create a distraction for the team on the ground." Tarn wasn't a master strategist, although one could think so sometimes, but this seemed like a rather straight-forward solution to a complicated problem. Ultimately it was up to Ailnoth to decide what to do. Tarn wouldn't complain, but he couldn't guarantee that he would participate either. No use in going on a suicide mission.

Nightlock looked at Tarn, who had just entered, this had gotten much more interesting, however he wouldn’t say it out loud he was concerned that Tarn’s presence would drag more autobot heavy hitters in to try and kill him, he wasn’t concerned about Tarn, he was more then capable of handling himself, it was the soilders he was worried about, while all of them were battle tested, would they be able to fight all the powerhouses that showed up to fight? He looked at the other ‘doctor’ heading into the room, he didn’t know him but he had meet most doctors and found them better to be torturers. Shaking his head he returned his attention to the main 5 bots who were contributing and not causing problems to deal.
Hearing Tarn wasn’t particpating brought a light amount of satisfaction. He respected Tarn but well, he wanted to avoid complications.

Their was expectations when a meeting between the Decepticon High Command was planned. To those outside it was often assumed such meetings, where grave operations where every detail was fought over in an attempt to find the most efficient method of war. For those inside however it was just as much discussions over their strategies as a stage for cons to plot their own path to glory. Such was the cause of so many plans that naturally where figure headed by the plotter themselves in some crucial position. As was the case of Skystreak's aerial quest or Ethereal's lust for devastation.
Time and experience had taught, Ailnoth the foolishness of relying on a single person for such a crucial operation however when more options where available. Just as it'd taught the mech to never trust a showman with promises when exaggerations where possible. The idea of an holomatter avatar causing the same damage as a prepared commando team was impossible, if such technology truly existed the war wouldn't be fought with their kind anymore. It would be a distraction, nothing more could be guaranteed. Still some of Backbeat's ideas did make sense, no matter how much such a thought would terrify him.
With the arrival of Tarn and his mention of the artillery, that was rare but still usable, some semblance of a plan was considered within Ailnoth's processor and built till it was viable enough to display. In a movement that displayed complete certainty for his decision, Ailnoth stepped up to the board forcing those in his way to move out rather than giving them any option to stand in his way if they wished not to be steamrolled over.
"I have listened and I have heard. It is with shame though that when I truly consider what has been said, I see so many of my kind who wish not for our races ultimate victory but rather some personal glory. For those still disillusioned this war shall cater to such ideals then let me open your optics to the truth. The next mech who suggests they be left to die alone on some crusade shall get their wish, and they shall not be remembered for it." Ailnoth, stated as he glared around not picking out any specific person but making it obvious he was displeased with what he saw.
"As for the plans, I am in agreement that the tunnels are our best approach if we wish to not be slaughtered in droves on the surface. Stealth will only work as long as they cannot detect us however and although the Rust-Sea may create interference to most scanners, they will catch our teams the moment they exit the disturbance. So I propose we bring jammers to counteract the scanners, it shall alert them to the fact we are doing something, but not what. From there it is merely a matter of using the right combination of attacks and distractions. With that in mind since we shall be arriving from the south, the few artillery we can bring shall be used to shell the southern air defenses while our jammers prevent the enemy from locating them."
At this Ailnoth pointed to the three most southern major anti-air defenses, before trailing his digit across the edge of the rust-sea where a number of natural ridges and hills would create minor cover for their weapons.
"It shall be to the discretion of the artillery commander where such devices are placed to reach their maximum potential once deployed. Without a way to find our positions enemy scouts while likely be deployed to locate our ordnance so we shall be holding back a number of ground forces and fliers to defend their position. With their communications down any scout that finds us will be forced to retreat to return their report, so if anyone is willing to preform this roll, I require those with both speed and the perception to not to let a scout slip through without our notice."
At this Ailnoth stared at a number of the smaller mechs, aware that height wasn't always an indicator of speed but using the direction to emphasize what such a role would rely on.
"As for those in the tunnels, a number of Shellshock's brood shall be available to lead the way. Once inside the city it shall be to your own discretion how the Anti-Air devices are targeted although it shall be expected of you to go for the northern structures if only so our cannons can focus on the south. In the process of heading for your targets, I would also suggest setting up a forward operating base somewhere near one of the entrance points to the Insection cave system.
In the case of your device, Backbeat I shall expect it to be used primarily as a distraction so pull it into the center perhaps even weaken the command center in preparation for when we claim it."
With that stated Ailnoth continued to stare around the room, although no longer with any particular direction.
"Do we have any objections. I shall emphasize that this operation shall be preformed by over 15,000 Decepticon soldiers. Any mistakes made here shall not be a minor loss, but one with grave consequences if it fails to be stopped here at this phase. So do not assume that criticism is unwelcome in face of any attempts not to displease me. For I assure you if anyone has a way to improve our chances it shall be considered."

The numerous interruptions and thoughts being rapid fired about the room added confusion to the crowd after Kydro took them back a few steps only for them to be thrown into complete chaos. The thickly built mech took a step back into the lines of the audience, feeling unsure about how his input would be taken. He figured that sneaking through beneath the Autobot ranks would allow them to cover more ground much quicker- and a few of the other Cons that barged in with their bizzare ideas backed it up- but it was not their opinion that he cared for. His optics still patiently froze upon the towering figure that began to stride forwards, breaking the conversations.
His first words were bringing a twinge of fear in the man's chassis, but quickly turned to relief at the acceptance of the tunnel usage. Having said all that he had to offer, Kydro began to melt into the audience once more, let in by the mechs and feminine frames he passed until the orange Con found himself right in the group he had started out on. Some of the group had left, but those that remained gave a respectful grunt, acknowledging his return. It had been the most ballsy thing he had really ever done out of heavy combat; he never spoke. His sister would of have been proud.

Nightlock looked at all the Decepticons currently here, Well put!"he finally said, trying to progress the meeting beyond the squabbling, and hoping to put the problems with the plan to rest with this new plan, "Now that we agree on a plan does anyone have any objections to the plan as of yet? Anyone?" He asked calling out to the audience, his three eyes looking around.

Slapfoot shifted restlessly. His division leader told him to appear here, due to his unique nature. He didn’t like being one of the few, if not the only, vehicons there. He still stood at attention, though it was comical as there was nobody around him to stand at attention with him in such a military fashion. He felt like a fish out of water, but he listened carefully despite sticking out like a sore thumb.

Seeing that no one was commenting out of fear or general ease, Nightlock turned to Alinoth and Tarn,”Seeing as they are all done I only have one simple question, When do we start? And side note can I have the Autobot Bodies for my research?” He asked both his questions as he figured they were simple enough, he wouldn’t be to upset if he couldn’t get the bodies, he had plenty of Decepticon bodies that were filling up his lab, and after taking thier T-cogs he sent them in thier way out, but they stacked up quickly. Though his mind was more focused on the assault, he would probably be on the front lines and needed a better weapon then his fusion cannon on his back, the Energon Blaster would only take him so far, and he had a idea with a new rifle he recently got, and maybe if any T-cogs were damaged in the battlefield he could give them one of his...substitutes, with only a couple modifications.
