In a way... Yeah. But my home's gone. So how about you and me, we make this hunk of rock our home, yeah?
Scatter's tank cannon protruded awkwardly along with the hammer from his back, and Scatter gently lifted the creature off his chest, and sat up, moving it to his back. The barrel of the cannon and hammer made a nice perch, and if it didn't want to, it could trot along with him. He slowly stood up, partially because he didn't want to disturb Nitrobite if he had accepted the perch.

Nitrobite flailed as he was picked up, unsure of what this action meant. Seeing as he was not hurt, he calmed down. He glanced at both the hammer and the cannon, then at the ground. There was a pause, he didn't want to walk as his legs were sore from being trapped. He looked at the perches but they didn't look fun. The creature ran around Scatter, having no problem that it was a vertical plane. Nitro came to a rest at his back and clung on to his shoulders, making him look like a backpack. His long tail wrapped around the mech's torso, and his helm on his shoulder.
Make this hunk of rock out home? All he could see was ice, so this was rather confusing. His optics looked in various directions trying to find rocks. He began to chatter softly before croaking in his own voice. Nests were what made a place a home.
"Nest? Nest!"

Not here. Bah, follow me. Heh.
Scatter walked forward, his heavy frame keeping him from moving with any speed. He played his music once more, swapping from the glam rock he was playing before to light 30's jazz. The speakers protruded from his chest, mainly the upper abdomen. Scatter had the oddest taste in music, in that his taste was nearly all of it. Miraculously, Scaatter never stumbled like he usually did, perhaps because Nitrobite evened out his weight, keeping him balanced. He sent out a signal for a groundbridge, planning to make conversation with Nitrobite when he spoke.

"Follow me!"
The creature mimicked, his tongue making a clicking noise. At this point he was just repeating words to show that he was picking up on them. Nitro began to sway once more as the music started up again. He coiled his tail around Scatter's chest, covering the speakers. The creature opened his mouth and the music was now amplified. Experimentally, he opened and closed his jaws a few times, the music playing and silencing as he did so. This was fun.

Scatter guffawed, amused at the creature. Full of so many hidden talents. Damn. That all you can do?Scatterblast kept walking, opening a comm to Riptide. ::Alright Riptide, I got to the signal and found a creature. I'm taking it to base, you ought to be able to get out from the hole I made. If not, contact me again.::

Was that all he could do? The corners of Nitro's mouth curved upwards, looking like an odd smile of sorts. Nitro unwrapped his tail from the tank's torso. His plates began to shift and the creature became a decorative shield/ disc. He stayed motionless until asked to move again.

Scatter grunted, reaching over his back to grab Nitrobite. He lifted the creature up, examining it. A shield. He wondered if the creature's frame was thick enough for that. It was bladed a bit though, so it would make a decent throwing disk, and Scatter was accurate enough.
I don't think you're built to take hits like that. But your armor may be diff'rent in this mode. You're a cool little dude.

"You're a cool little dude."
The creature mimicked once more and shifted back. He opened his jaws and yawned before wriggling out of Scatter's grip and climbing onto his arm. Nitro looked around the frozen place while climbing towards the mech's shoulder and sitting there, tail curling loosely around his neck.

You got a funny definition of little. That's a neat trick by the way.
Scatter kept walking, the space of ice where his pedes hit cracking under his weight. The GB signal had yet to reach High Grand, though Scatter was in no rush.
Why do you turn into that funny little disk? Are you some kinda weapon, or some kinda shield? Both are cool options.

Nitro opened his mouth to respond but realized he had no answer. As far as he could remember (which wasn't really far), he had always been able to turn into that disc. The creature flailed his large wings in annoyance, he didn't like not knowing about himself.
Similar to a cat, his species sort of domesticated themselves. They had a better chance of survival if they were able to work together with a better species. Some of his kind could turn into axes/ maces and others discs/ shields. Something to help their caretaker.

To Scatter, a disc was more helpful than a shield. But shields had their merits, even to heavily armored units. Scatter had pets as a sparkling, and he always took care of them. His big size usually resulted in accidents, however. But Nitrobite want like a pet, rather a companion. And he wasn't as small, either, so he wouldn't be so prone to accidents. The groundbridge signal finally reached High Grand, and the result was a swirling vortex opening in front of them.
Hey, don't worry about this thing, this will take me to my, "nest", like ya said.

Nitro froze upon the ground bridge opening. He had seen one of these before but on a much larger scale, and it had been in the sky. Like an animal and a laser pointer, he seemed transfixed by the green and yellow swirls. Then Scatter mentioned a nest, and the creature became excited, he began to crawl all over the mech as he no longer wanted to sit still. He paused again, wondering what the nest would be like.

After a few seconds, the groundbridge sputtered and shut down. Someone else had a bridge open. Scatter grimaced slightly, though became cheerful again when Nitrobite began shuffling around. He waited, sending a go signal every now and then while waiting for the people at High Grand to wrap up.
I suppose you'll hafts wait a bit, Nitrobite.

Nitro let out a cry of annoyance- he disliked waiting, especially now after he had been in the ice for so long. The creature began to wonder how Scatter could make the swirling lights appear, maybe it was one of his talents or abilities? Maybe if Nitro could focus hard enough, then he too could make the lights return. He strained to make the lights show up but gave up a few seconds later. This idea had already become boring for him.
"Bah..."
The creature repeated to word that Scatter had brought up earlier but had no idea what it meant. He climbed up onto Scatter's shoulder again and curled his tail around the mech's neck for support.

Nitro bite would be curling his tale around what would essentially be a log to cybertronians. Scatter's neck was so armored he couldn't turn his head. He was locked into looking forward, and thus was less vulnerable. The bridge opened up again, being available, and Scatter took them through.
Puh, see? That wasn't so bad, eh?

The creature trumpeted in triumph, nearly falling off his living perch. Nitro seemed to freeze as they went through the bridge. He did this as he was unsure if moving would mess something up. Due to his short attention span he began wriggling about again, and hung upside down from Scatter's arm.

Plummeting from orbit is never fun. Never. Contrail had no choice though. At least it was coming in so slowly compared to what is should he didn’t seem so afraid. That didn’t mean it wasn’t just as dangerous, if not more. Contrail had fallen victim to a plague he was only spared of its full effects because of his design as a soldier. Even then, it wouldn’t be long until he was entirely dysfunctional, everything about him was slowly losing speed. Every aspect of his frame would eventually just stop. That wouldn’t be his preferred end.
IMPACT IN 5… 4… 3.. 2..
A massive cloud of snow blasted into the air as the jet failed a good landing. A weak groan was all that emitted and Contrail stayed still. He was far too exhausted and aching to bother to move. All he did do, though, was make his spark signature public, even sending a distress signal. Somebody for the love of Primus better find him.

Contrail was in evasion mode, all out offline without being dead. His distress signal was entirely pointless, as it had next to no range, and reached no one. The best solution was just to wait out the snuff of his spark. It was all he could do, after all. He’d given up. A hundred yards away, a large green portal opened, immediately releasing a maroon mech bursting with energy. Shrike, said mech, was searching his surroundings rapidly, finding a blot of mustard yellow in the pure white. First, thought, wait for team, @sortie and RedOptics. They should be arriving shortly. It was so difficult to hesitate, but safety is safety. Getting a similar fate to Contrail would be terrible.

Diamond slithered through the groundbridge in a mound of dark purple. She looked around, ignoring the cold even though her body had immediatly started to feel its affects. "The sooner we find him, the sooner we can leave. Go Shrike, we won't be far behind." Her tone held the slightest oamount of sourness, but the rest was a strong understanding of how he felt. The tainted femme looked back at the swirling circumference of green and violet, hoping that Sortie wouldn't take long to depart from the base.

It took a little while for Sortie to finally catch up, and once she had the reason why was plain as day. Her rifle was out- she'd taken it out back at the base before departure, and likely inspected it to ensure both it, and she, were ready to go. Her stance was textbook for a soldier ready for battle, though her lowered body didn't help much with her already unimpressive height. A nod signaled she was ready, and the femme remained silent, prepped to follow.
