BASICS
Designation : Velocity
Nicknames: None he allows anyone to refer to him by, but an indiscernible teal blur tends to gain many aliases
Gender : Mech
Faction : Avacon
Occupation : Hit-and-run and demolition specialist
Personality :
Velocity is a mech dedicated to one goal, perfection. He aims to be the best at what he does, and his object minded perception of life goes for everyone else too. Biased and unforgiving, Velocity believes that if one does not strive to become the best at what they do, and eventually reach that level of perfection, they are worthless in the end of it all. Few meet his standards, which disgusts him, furthering this biased nature. These harsh habits are only revealed when he knows whom he speaks to enough to know their skill set and their dedication to their craft. When just perceiving him, what one might see is a great sense of pride, as well as a sheltered insecurity, for he knows there exists beings who surpass him. His inadequacy is what drives him on, for he knows he will one day rise to the top. He is eager to show his abilities and always is moving forward, quite literally, really. It's difficult to find a time when Velocity isn't training and pushing his limits, which usually entails quite a lot of movement, and to be fair, this makes him rather hard to hold a good conversation with. He doesn't mind. Distractions make for wasted time. A good break is healthy-- which is when his more playfully enthusiastic side shows-- but a good break is rare.
APPEARANCE
Optic ( Eye ) Color : Neon teal
Primary Paint Color : Aqua tinted chrome
Secondary Paint Color: Teal
Height : 15 feet
Features:
- Two of his wheels from his alt mode are in his shins, in contact with the ground, and he can fold up his feet to skate around on them, fully motorized. This is usually the case in combat.
- He has a very aerodynamic shape, every part of his body is smooth, shaped for minimal drag at a vast set of angles.
- He has digitigrade legs, with the forward facing knee as the top, backward facing knee as the lower.
- He usually has a solid glass face mask up.
Alternative Mode:
Velocity transforms into a relatively large tricycle of Cybertronian design. He is low set, aerodynamic, and the pair of wheels are in the back. Designed with minimal drag and sloped to have air currents hold it down at exceptional speeds, he almost looks like a dart from above, and a ramp from the side. In this form, he can reach speeds approaching 400 mph (650 km/h), putting him at approximately half the speed of Cybertron's greatest, Blurr. The cost of such exceptional speed, of course, is size and strength. He lacks weight as well, and could easily be battered about if reached. The method in which he transforms, however, conveniently keeps his back wheels in constant contact with the ground, allowing him to transform straight from high speeds into his robot mode's skating feature, although his safe top speed is halved.
Equipment and Abilities
Weaponry :
All explosives come in the following varieties :
- Blast, can significantly soften iron with heat intensity
- Fragmentation, shrapnel will be white hot, in pieces no more than 5 cm long
- Electromagnetic pulse, will disrupt communications and sensors, but effects are instant, not lasting
- Thermo-gel, works on Cybertronian alloys like napalm works on flesh, lasts for 3 turns at most (x.5 blast radius)
- Corrosive fumes, will result in deteriorating armor integrity, blocks direct vision almost entirely, lasts for 3 turns at most (x.5 blast radius)
- Smoke, blocks direct vision almost entirely, lasts for 5 turns at most (x2 blast radius)
- Flash, instant temporary blindness and can temporarily deafen those nearby
Grenades : Easy to use and dispose of bombs, can be contact or any decided timer. Blast radius of 20 ft.
Tag Bombs: Small remote explosives that easily plug onto the armor of their victim, must be manually placed. Blast radius of 5 ft.
AVC-98 RPG Sidearm : Single hand use rocket propelled grenade launcher for firing small explosives at range, accuracy is lost with range, as it is not equipped with a laser guide. Blast radius of 10 ft.
Landmines : Proximity detonated landmines, can be dropped or placed manually. Blast radius of 20 ft.
Det Packs : Velocity's vast array of larger remote explosives, they come in all standard varieties of triggers, from timers, remote detonators, proximity to even environmental response. These are a little too unwieldy to be thrown decently, and thus must be dropped or manually placed. He usually only has 2 on at him at any time. Blast radius of 50-120 ft, depending on his decided size, does not come in any variety except blast, frag and EMP.
Don't forget that the initial blast radius does not include air pressure waves!
AVC-13 Concealed Blaster : A small and low power blaster that can be easily carried and hidden, difficult to pick up with lower end weapon detection systems.
AVC-202 Double Halberd : A lightweight pole weapon with double blades at each end, can collapse to half its length for storage.
Gadgets : No need for ornamental tools when skill is the real factor here.
Abilities :
Advanced boosters : These simple installments in his body allow him to launch himself into the air several times the height of a standard jump.
OTHER
History : From the endless winding roadways of Velocitron rose an aspiring racer, immediately interrupted by a brutal war engulfing the entire population of Cybertronians and their relatives throughout the stars. He was inexperienced, and with a cloudy mind focused on the life he had once wanted to live, he struggled to find complacency or place. The war was confusing and neither side seemed to have their heads in the right place. It wasn't until long after the war had begun that Velocity began to mature, where he was picked up by the Avacons, whose ideals pleased him, and their technology allowed him to near his lost dream of speed. Now he fights for the faction that gives him what he wants and in return he provides his talents. Besides, of all factions, the Avacons have the highest saturation of beings that fit his perception of perfection, or at least the lust for it.
Strengths :
- Velocity packs a great deal of firepower that he can use without much warning, allowing him to get the jump on the target and pull out of the fight before it even actually begins.
- Exceptional speed makes following him exceptionally difficult, and running away even more so.
- The fluidity between his alt mode and his robot through their transformation and his skating abilities makes him extremely flexible in both forms, not to mention the ability to easily circle strafe a target.
Weaknesses :
- Flimsy is not a word to shy away from when describing Velocity. A few heavy weapons making contact with him will easily have the target fleeing from the fight.
- He lacks a variety of weapons, having resistance to his explosives or being able to counter them in other ways will significantly reduce how effective he is in a fight.
- His pride makes him predictable if this is played upon, meddling makes him an easier target.
SAMPLE RP
A much stronger light flicked on before a sliver of bright yellow sliced through the former darkness, glaring against even the bolder illumination he now had. As the hatch lowered, an itch developed along Velocity's frame. The further the sunlight crept down, the more intense and widespread it became. He knew this feeling, as it was not unique to this mission, or any. It had become a constant since he had joined the Avacons and found joy in what they have given him. A smile cracked behind tinted glass as the searing beam of the planet's star crossed his optics. It was his time once again, and in the name of Primus, every five minutes of fame he got was exhilarating, for it was all he ever got. There was no need to complain, those fleeting moments tend to last for the rest of his fans' lives. Such dedicated followers.
The closer his freedom seemed, the slower time passed. The ramp was only a foot off the soil of this alien world when it all stopped. Life was at a standstill. This was when he scratched. A foot stepped forward into the full blaze of daylight, leading into another stride. His stroll came into a jog, before advancing into a sprint. Reaching crescendo, Velocity closed his optics briefly, letting the wind curl around his frame. He twisted back, and finally the third tire struck the dirt he moved upon. His desire was sated, rushing into the defenses of the enemy.
