So you wanna do some killing? Violently?
Well I'll be glad to help you with that with this Warhammer 40k themed RP. Not meant to be anything crazy yet and I'll be locking it down to just the Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines) for now because well... They're the only thing I seriously know any lore about, other than Orks, who are just out to kill things. Anyways, basically we'll all be apart of a Space Marine Chapter and out to kill things that are A. Heretics B. Xenos or C. Mutants. Anything human is okay unless it goes into A or C category. We're all psycho-religious people in that sci-fi dark ages, and we all praise a our not-dead Emperor with God-like abilities, known as the God-Emperor. For the sake of some creative freedom, the Space Marine Chapter will be the one I'm working on irl, a (homebrew, yes it fits the canon, been working with huge nerds on it) successor chapter to the Salamanders. They're known as the Crocodiles: (Excuse the ugly picture, did this on a rush)
That's their general color scheme, there is a lot of variation with the silver and blue and more silver can be used in different areas, so long as the blue holds the primary color and the silver is just secondary parts. Now there are a lot of different kinds of Space Marine equipment and they're usually labeled down by a role (Note: Most of these guys can carry whatever they want, though they generally stick to this overall theme):
Tactical: Your all around Space Marine, can use almost anything, but doesn't specialize in anything, they normall carry bolters, plasma rifles, grav guns, melta guns, or flamethrowers, with a mix of different ordinance, sometimes specializing in a rocket launcher. Sergeants field a melee weapon and a plasma, melta, or bolt pistol, along with a banner on their backpack.
Assault: Your Space Marines with jump packs, they almost always carry some sort of melee weapon, normally a sword, chainsword, or chainaxe. They'll often be fielded with a pistol they'll use in their primary hand with the sword in a secondary hand. Sergeants get the same equipment, just fancier armor.
Devastator: Your heavy weapons experts, they specialize in heavy bolters lascannons, multimeltas, and grav cannons/grav amps. Heavy Bolters are anti-infantry, Lascannons are anti-Vehicle. Sergeants normally use a boltgun and some sort of melee weapon.
Scouts: These are the recruits to the chapter. They specialize in information gathering and some light combat. They can hold their own in a fight, but wouldn't be able to stand toe-to-toe with a space marine if they so tried, they usually carry a boltgun or knife. Or both.
Scout Snipers: Scouts with sniper rifles, these are dedicated scouts, some are even actual Space Marines sticking with the scout unit to train them. They're essentially the recruits who are farther along. They come with sniper rifles most of the time, obviously.
Centurions: These are your pilots who wield mechanized assault units designed to slaughter. Assault models carry a siege drill capable of punching through walls in a single blow. Devastator models carry grav-cannons/amps attached to them.
Dreadnought: A severely injured or crippled battle-brother who was given the opportunity to continue to fight in one of these behemoths. You get your choice of an assault cannon, missile launcher, storm bolter, twin autocannon, multi-melta in one hand, and a spinning claw and your choice of a heavy flamer or Storm Bolter in the other. There are more weapons on top of this, but this is the basics.
Venerable Dreadnought: Same as before, only now you your choice of any of these weapons freely.
Contemptor Dreadnought: Same as before, now you get a combi-bolter and your choice of a multi-melta or a Kheres Pattern Assault cannon. Along with you being much more durable.
Ironclad Dreadnought: Same as before, but now you get more missile based weapons attached to yourself and are effectively a walking heavy weapons platform.
Terminators: These are heavily armored Space Marines. They're a little slower, but come with storm bolters and your choice of a power fist or a chain fist. Some come with Teleport homers and some occasionally wield heavy weapons.
Assault Terminators: Heavily armored Space marines for CQC, Thunder hammers and stormshields, or a pair of lightning claws. Along with the teleport homers.
These are all the goups I'll be opening up for now, namely because I'm low on time and this covers most of what I know in terms of units. More will be added over time.
