This is where Metroplex's spark belongs. It doesn't exactly bring him to life, though it is effectively his reactor. There is even a console to control the energon flow through it.

It wasn't usual that he would actually enter something that was once a living, sentient being. He was literally exploring the insides of someone else's alt form, and yet also finding his way around the frame towards the very core of the Titan. While the bots he upgraded were usually taller than him, the size difference never reached the current extent. He stopped for a few moments, just listening. So far, he could see nor scan for any hostilities. When his optics fell on the console at the far end, his expression brightened. Finally. He had located the core of the Titan. The first few minutes were spent just exploring the chamber, checking the reactor for damage, rust, particles that might endanger its integrity once it was started up, and the connections of the cabling to it. He found a few that had been partially damaged or pulled free. He approached one, bringing his servos under the large cable and hoisted it up. He pushed it's end into the corresponding socket. Making sure it was secured he moved away. After performing some quick repairs and 'clean up', he walked back to the console. He glanced at the cables connected to it. He pulled the first lever. Typed in a few commands and looked up at the screen. "Alright. Lets see if this works." A soft, quiet hum started up. "Good so far." He murmured to himself and moved the second lever slowly, pushing it upwards. The hum became louder. The sound was steady, with few short interruptions. Those became less and less frequent. The cleanup had been effective enough. Some of the dirt and dust did still rise up, as the reactor began its work. The mechanical parts had moved slowly at first, then began to gain speed up, pumping more energon through the systems. The lines which served as lights began to glow faintly. As the third lever was pushed, they grew stronger. He glanced at the reactor and observed the blue glow at its core that stabilized, the hum even and consistent. He smiled. ::Systems operational, sir.:: Was all he sent. Vatimus Prime

Vatimus's voice would crackle into Wheelspin's ear, :Good job Wheelspin, we're waiting outside of structure, any idea on what it is?:

::Well.... looking at the evidence, though the current form is not base form..... but..:: There was silence. :: The design of the.. powersource, this chamber, it bares similarities,.. :: Silence again. :: A Titan sir.:: There were ways ships or buildings were built, and then there was the structural elements which could easily hint at it being more than a mere ruin or building. This one had all the indicators of that being the case. It had showed up on the map earlier, the vague shape and certain design indicators corresponded to it. He glanced around again, more than convinced that if he was wrong it would be because somebody wanted to mimic the same, but it was doubtful. His soundblasters began to emit a frequency that his audials would be made to not hear, but that would drive the lesser life forms out of the room, if any where still present. It was not harming them, just making them want to not be there to a point that if they persisted they might begin to feel a little disoriented in time. It was not that big of a range either, but enough to keep this chamber free from pests. ::Metroplex. Could be one of the others, but considering location...:: It was an evidence supported guess: location, design, database of the limited number of these gigantic bots matched up. Vatimus Prime

Wheelspin didn't wait for the new Prime's orders to proceed with the next few tasks, needed to make the base more than a nice lit walled box with entrances and exists. With the lights on it was time to follow the list of what sections of this giant soon to be base, needed to be powered up next. It was a no brainer what he would choose. The defence systems, visuals (any sort of camera that would enable a clear view of what was happening outside from different angles), the guns, anything that could make the structure less a mere building in ruin, and more a defensible fortress. "Now, lets hope you didn't suffer any damage here..." With a few clicks he began to transfer some of the power from the now comfortably humming reactor to getting the surveillance systems up and running. He waited for a few moments, his optics on the screen that showed the stability of the reactor, with different messages popping up. So far, good. No warnings. There was a minimal drop in power temporarily, which however had stabilized and increased quite soon after. If they located the control room soon, they would be able to have it functioning normally now. He pulled several of the levers that controlled the distribution of energy to various parts of Metroplex, flicked a few switches, that would more delicately divert that same power towards the weapons. An image popped up on the screen, which showed which of the weapons were now being powered. He reached up to press on the red marked circles that hovered over the guns. As he did, the red turned to green, and a message display announced the chosen gun was armed and ready. With the first prepared, he moved on to the next. :: Surveillance systems up, defence systems online. Awaiting orders. :: He sent to Vating while his attention momentarily turned to the cause of those tremors earlier felt even as deep down in Metroplex as this. Vatimus Prime

:Good job Wheelspin! Okay, get somewhere to where you can lay down fire on the enemy. The weapons should be able to handle it, but I'd rather have more cover than just some big guns.:

::Yes, sir.:: Was a short response. Wheelspin didn't move the very next moment though. he was checking whether there was enough power produced by the reactor, to realise his third objective. Not yet, but he could set it on a timer, have it start up while he was away. His smile broadened as he typed in the commands. The numbers popped up, indicating when it would be ready. It would not take too long, but he needed to move and thus he could not dawdle and wait to start it up while there. He checked in with the Autotroopers already inside of the base, directing several of them to the needed locations near the guns. A couple of others he called towards the reactor unwilling to leave it without defence while he was gone. A few were called in to guard the entrance, and the one that had been somewhat more damaged, to remain at the controls. He was directed to keep his comm on the loud speaker at all times so the transmissions could be heard when sent, and report back if anything out of the ordinary started happening. The guns should have been able to seek targets and fire at them on their own, but just in case they did not, or they malfunctioned, he wanted them manned as soon as possible. With everything set and the first of the Autotroopers entering the reactor he ran past them, transforming mid run to continue on his four wheels. Not too long after he was hitting breaks hard. The weapon's room. The doors slid open. A few moments later he was out again, a sniper rifle slung over his shoulder. His other one had been turned into a rather fancy - futuristic sculpture when he landed with Empress earlier. This one had been tested and additional ammo had been taken, should it be needed along with a few other things he thought could prove useful. Most stashed in his subspace. Back in the main hall, he had checked the map. He was heading up top to get a better vantage point. Vatimus Prime --- In the meanwhile one of the big guns swung to life. It began to track the progress of one of the four much larger insect like Niblets. It locked on onto the one that was munching on one of the buildings. It powered up. A moment later the gun fired, the noise quite loud, betraying the power behind the shot. The ballistic had been aimed at one of the limbs of the Nibzilla, very close to it's base where the limb would probably have been broadest, but not as well protected due to the need of movement. If it missed it would still hit the building it was holding onto, the part of which would probably still give under the weight of the monster. Kick-Start A second gun pivoted around looking for something that would move, anything that it could lock on and fire at. This time it had found something more distant. Two somethings. One of them was Vatimus Prime, the other was BackBeat. Or was it maybe more, what with the swarm of nibblets that were in close range of the two, the choices were multiplying by the second. It appeared to locked on and then it fired, quickly followed by a second gun, nearby focusing on the same threat. It was not exactly clear what the chosen target had been, seeing as the two were so close together. ( Backbeat , Vatimus Prime ) There was a fourth now springing to life, along with a couple of others, searching for targets. The swarm of nibblets was identified as one such choice. It was moving almost as one, it may have consisted of a number, hundred or thousand of little nibblets but the systems identified as a unity. A salvo of shots were sent in their direction, the guns adjusting their aim in a somewhat haphazard manner. They were trying to locate the best area to hit to inflict the most damage, but failing because of the way the swarm would change shape, so just about anything was game.

The door was open, so Thunder skidded to a stop when he spotted WS.
"That guy from before...hey!" Thunder went to get him, running up to him then coming to a stop, "Can you tell me what's going on down there?"

WheelSpin's optics locked on Thunder and he skidded to another stop his rifle swinging a bit os it was pivoted forward, smacking against his back. Was this one a friend or foe? Well he was here and he was not shot down by any of the Autodrones or autobots, right? So he was assumed 'ok', for now. "I'm in a little bit of a hurry." He had to get into position as quickly as possible. "What's your designation, intentions and.." He hesitated. "You're on our side, right?" It would be easier if he could keep an optic out on this one, just in case. He did not want to risk him heading straight for the reactor. That and if he was a fighter, his help would actually be welcome. "Follow me." He already began in the direction he'd wanted to go earlier, glancing at Thunder to see if he was actually coming along. "We're getting up top to defend our new base. We've got the guns up, but some more firepower won't hurt. You've got any long range guns?" He paused. "That you can aim relatively adequately?"Thunder

"I'm a crap shot, but I need to know what's going on. Why did Diamond take off like that?" Thunder kept asking questions while keeping up with the mech, the outside gunfire only making things sound worse.

"Diamond took off?" He had missed that happening since his focus while in the reactor was not on keeping tags on where anybody and everybody else had gone off to. "Did she take Aquahaze wit her?" They moved up another level. He could hear the guns firing, the sound muted partially by the fact that they were both still inside. "...crap shot?...How crap?" He wondered if he could count on him aiming at someone who was too big to be missed, of he'd sooner shoot himself in the foot than shoot the foe down. "Almost there." He added. They were near one of the guns, where a hatch (once it was given the command) would open outwards to a small plateau with a fairly good view over the ground below. Thunder

"She left in a hurry, something over your comm I guess. Gave her son to the predacon femme downstairs." Thunder answered, then answered his next question regarding his aim, "I can shoot what's in front of me, but not too well. Kinda why I have the swords, more of a close-in-your-face-kind of guy. Guns on my underarms are for close range and to pop some damage here and there."
As they rushed up the steps they would reach their destination, an artillery emplacement.
"How bad are we talking here--" Thunder's optics widened a bit, seeing the Nibzillas and the swarm of nibblets. Though one should have been taken down by now, "I'm...going to assume that giant three-legged spiders are not the norm around here?" He asked, both trying to cool down a tense situation and legitimately ask.

"Well, there's not many things that could make her leave Aquahaze behind." With the command given the hatch opened. He paused to scan for any immediate danger first, then checked that the position would be partially secured by the gun to their left, while at the same time offering a good view of the surrounding area below. Yep, they could see the swarms and the Nibzillas, who may have lacked in numbers, but certainly not in height. "Giant three legged spiders?" Wheelspin pretended for a moment that he had no idea what Hunter was talking about and then turned towards one of them off to their right. "Oh... you mean those?... Yeah. Not the norm. The closest I've seen to those little ones were scraplets..........so glad they are not scraplets!" He shifted his rifle from his shoulder back to his servos. "...Alright. Any bright ideas, Mr Swordfight?" It was a teasing nickname, to diffuse some of the tension. (The next post will be moved to Iacon. The next big guns of Metroplex post will be also written there, after reactions to the current shots are given!) Thunder
