As a protoge of Shockwave, Kick-Start is rumoured to have a number of active laboratories across Cybertron - guesses range from 15 to 60. They're hidden in all kinds of places. There are several locations that are guessed to be former labs, but no active lab has yet been found...
As you walk down the hallway, the stench rises - not just of Energon but of rotting organic tissue and blood. It becomes so strong that you could vomit. The door opens and the scene you now behold is far worse than any rumor or even your most horrible suspicions.
The laboratory is divided in two halves. One half clean, the other half... not so.
The clean half has about half a dozen Vehicons working there. Several of them have been experimented on themselves, gruesome operations that add limbs of both predabots and vermin, and leave their bodies half-open for observation. None of them seem to fully comprehend the situation. Two have underwent lobotomies. They may be the lucky ones, for the others have simply had their sanity eroded away in their service. One no longer even has a head, but a collection of long tentacles sprouting from its neck. They slave wretchedly towards the gradual construction of a huge, circular portal. The wires attached to the portal pulse in a distinctly organic way.
Weapons both powerful and horrible are lying around everywhere, complete and incomplete; you don't even risk touching them.
There are several large boxes lying around too, plugged in to power supplies. Investigating them, you come to the conclusion that the organs inside the boxes are alive and functioning and more horrifically, aware of their situation. One such box has been hooked up to a screen on which words scroll constantly...

The other half of the laboratory is less clean. Energon and oil smears the walls as well as the floor. There's something growing on the wall. Luminous slimey globs crawl and pool together, Nibblets scuttle everywhere unimpeded, performing simple tasks. One is gradually eating a still-twitching body; two are making another Nibblet. There are a number of experiments here. Some are merely half-dismembered corpses, but others are not merely unidentifiable, but inherently wrong in their construction, with no indication towards a purpose being chosen when the project began. There is a large T-Cog hanging from the ceiling with nothing but heads welded to it, and not all of them seem to be dead. It's hard to tell whether this is a laboratory or a torture chamber.
One of such is a mech who has been grafted together from at least fifteen beasts. Even the head is a mongrel creation of at least three mechs, a femme and several beasts. Its chest has been left carved open, but it is alive. Kick-Start sometimes gets bored part-way through operations and moves on to another project. It twitches and gurgles, but it is past begging for death. You back away and bump into a table covered in limbs from various creatures, some of which clutch at you.
Another experiment is if anything even more horrible - this one has not been down here so long and can focus on you. Organic tentacles of some kind seem to have been grafted onto it, which appear to be still actively functioning. It cannot speak; its voice-box has been removed.
There are two more bodies on the wall - one looks like a prototype, a kind of exo-suit, if the wearer of the exo-suit didn't mind looking like some unholy abomination, like some kind of dog with horse-legs and insect wings. The other looks more like a dragon, but constantly drips a luminescent oily substance, which seems to crawl over the floor and pool together, then ooze back into the 'suit'.
The place is sickening by the standards of any species; it is the worst kind of blasphemy against Primus, or any other available god. The genius of Kick-Start is easily equal to her complete absence of ethics - because the sole difference between her experiments and the horrific monstrosities created by Shockwave is that she has a far superior imagination. And if you are an Autobot, you realise that it is more important than ever to capture her alive - if only for the purpose of finding and shutting every last one of her laboratories down.
