STAFF MODERATION GUIDELINES
Below is a list of Rules and Guidelines that all staff must follow. Any staff caught going against such guidelines will be dealt with by another staff member, do not hesitate to inform the staff of improper conduct. The purpose of these guidelines are to limit staff and provide palpable rules that they too must follow, so that users do not feel that we staff are superiors, or invincible.
Treat All Users Fairly
Staff should be treating all users, regardless of actions or opinions, in a similar manner. There should be no bias towards certain individuals, only bias towards what is acceptable within the site. This will require staff to play a neutral standing in moderation.
Excess punishment to those they dislike, and free passes to those they are friends with is to be considered a violation of this rule.
Stay Consistent
Rules should be kept consistent, as should our moderation. It is not only confusing to have something be denied by staff, only to be accepted to someone else later, but it is extremely damaging to the reputation of TFG. Any rules that are created or used must be listed and maintained.
Do Not Steer The Story
Staff should never use their power and authority to guide the direction of role-play any more than a normal user can. This is to allow a natural and enjoyable universe in which the community creates a world. Staff are only there to keep things clean.
Put The Community First
The community of TFG is the most vital element. All staff decisions, efforts, and implementations should be to improve the welfare of the majority of TFG. Intimidating users, self-empowering, biased decisions, and rules that punish the majority for the actions of a few should be avoided at all costs.
Stay Communicative
Make sure other staff know what you are doing and approve. Do not run off and do your own thing. Doing such can lead to chaos and confusion within both the staff and the community, and put people off.
