Yorlam smiled as Deerling used it's grass whistle attack. She then shouted, "Now hit it with a tackle attack!" She really hoped that this would finish the job.

A red beam would shoot from Zain's Pokeball as he called the injured Pokemon back, furious that he forgot about the other Pokemon in this battle. Hey, Doc, got any revives around here? he would ask the Professor.

After dazing of at the ceiling, archy noticed that psyduck just went into his his ball, and let off a little steam. He noticed how badly seel was damaged, and decided that after steel had attacked, he would jump in front of him to form a shield , hopefully keeping the already crippled seel up.

Tsukai's Seel braced itself back upright as the horn on the Pokémon's head began to glow. Aiming forward, a stream of razor sharp icicles shot out from the horn, impacting the small Cubchoo with a high amount of force as the bear-like Pokémon was thrown back, crashing into the Grunt's leg, Archie's daring rescue ended up being for nothing as Cubchoo had already fainted. Seel looked at it's supposed rescuer with a curious expression, tilting it's head at Archie's actions.
Yorlam's Deerling braced itself as it charged the sleeping Mareep, the small Pokémon managed to impact the Mareep with great difficulty, causing Mareep to fly backwards and hit the wall with a hard crunch, sliding to the floor in an almost comical fashion. As the Grunt returned his Mareep, the trio of Team Nexus hopefuls had discovered they'd actually been defeated, with no Pokémon left to their name the trio began to lose their nerve. Behind them, Melissa chuckled quietly walking forward, facing the group of new trainers.
"How disappointing. All three of you were defeated by rookie children and an old man. It would seem there is no place in Team Nexus for such pathetic excuses for Trainers. Though frankly, to know that these children were in turn defeated by these pathetic wastes makes me not hopeful for them either. Guess it's true what they say. If you want a job done properly, do it yourself."
Melissa unbuttoned her green business jacket slowly, opening it to reveal a harness over her shirt, holding six Pokeballs, and Ultra Balls at that. Taking one out, Melissa rolled it in her hands for a minute, knowing the group couldn't beat her even at full strength. Enlarging the Ultra Ball, Melissa prepared to throw it when a buzzing was heard. Stopping dead, the noise was easily discerned as coming from her wireless headset stuck in her ear. Her lazy smile returning Melissa, put the Pokeball away and pressed a button on the headset, re-buttoning her jacket as she spoke into the device.
"Yes sir...just finishes the exam...all failures I'm afraid, their criminal records will be anonymously tipped to the Police in a matter of moments...no permanent damage to our Pokémon assets, they'll be coming with me. And the lab itself?...I see...yes I understand...thank you sir."
Tapping the device again, Melissa scooped up the Pokeballs from the dumbfounded Grunts, having heard their fate was already sealed. Counting them, Melissa deposited the Pokeballs into a briefcase before lifting out a small device. Tapping a few buttons on the face of the device, thick black smoke emanated from it, enveloping the whole group in a thick black smoke. It took a while to clear, but when it did, Melissa was gone, the trio of Grunts only now starting to run for the hills, just leaving the group's sight as they disappeared down the path. Coughing to clear his lungs, Professor Mahogany stood up and checked his lab. Thankfully, no-one was hurt and nothing appeared to be missing. Sighing with relief, Professor Mahogany locked the main door, just in case they came back, and walked to the lab.
"Come along. You and your Pokémon have been through a lot, bring your Pokémon to the lab, I'll heal them up while we talk."
Opening the door to his lab, Professor Mahogany held the door for the group as they filed in, the lab itself far larger than the lobby, with rows upon rows of bulletproof glass boxes filled with Pokeballs. Professor Mahogany led the group into a small lounge room, complete with several couches and a tray for 6 Pokeballs. Taking each group member's Pokeball, Professor Mahogany placed them on the tray and walked to a side door.
"I'll have these healed in no time. Please make yourself comfortable while I get you all something important."
The Professor disappeared for a while before suddenly returning, carrying another tray, holding mugs filled with tea for each of the group. Setting the tray down on the coffee table in front of them, the Professor sat in his own armchair, giving everyone a second to drink before he spoke.
"Your Pokémon should be well in no time. I apologise for what you went through today, and I imagine you all have questions. To give you the basics, that was Team Nexus's Second in Command, Melissa. Team Nexus is a crime syndicate that's been becoming more of a problem these last few months. I knew they were raiding campsites and workplaces for Pokémon, but they've never attacked a lab before. I'll answer any questions you may have, but before you do, I think you will need these."
Reaching to a cloth covered platter on the tray, Professor Mahogany pulled the fabric away to reveal five identical red Pokedexes, all arranged and ready to be used, clearly shined and polished in preparation for them. Professor Mahogany gestured for them to take one each as he let them hold and look at their new devices for a moment before continuing, things seemingly calming down now Team Nexus was gone.
"I intended to give those to you earlier, but Team Nexus made that difficult. Once you get your Pokémon back, the Pokedex will automatically calibrate itself to your chosen Starter Pokémon, and will show you it's moves and abilities, as well as those of any others you catch in the future. As harsh a beginning as you've all had, it's shown you can work well under pressure, and we can now look ahead to your journey. Please, ask me what you wish to know, be it Team Nexus or your own journey, I shall do all I can to answer you."

Dray sighed in releif as the Mareep and Cubchoo were knocked out. But then tensed up as Melissa had her own Ultra Ball, ready to be thrown. Dray paused. Whatever she could bring out, Tirtogua wouldn't be ready for it. But luckily Melissa was stopped by a phone call. Dray didn't do anything to stop Melissa from picking up the Pokéballs as she had now dissappeared in the smoke. Dray quickly covered his mouth with his jacket to protect himself from the smoke. But as the smoke cleared, the boy watched as the grunts fled. Dray scowled as they ran off. But the scowl soon subsided when Professor Mahogany offered to heal up the Pokémon. Dray followed the Professor into his lab.
As the Professor held out the tray for the Pokémon to be placed into so they can be healed, Dray placed Tirtogua's Pokéball onto the tray and sat down on of the left end of one of the couches. As Dray waited, the boy was thinking about what Team Nexus were wanting from trying to raid the lab. They must've been looking to steal some Pokémon to help their cause. Sounded just like Team Rocket- when they were still an organisation- and their reincarnated version. Dray's thoughts were cut short as Professor Mahogany came back in with a different tray. This time with tea. Dray nodded in thanks as he took a cup and took a small sip out of it. That was when the Professor revealed the Pokédexes. Dray's eye gleamed with excitement. A Pokédex! Dray reached out to take one. The young boy always wanted one ever since he saw his Uncle's Pokédex and how many pages were filled up with the information stored inside it.
"Thanks Professor. I also take it you want us to help your research or something?"

Yorlam smiled and hopped around happily before returning Deerling to it's ball, "Thank you so much Deerling!" She then followed the professor, happily accepted the tea, and gave him Deerling's pokeball. As she listened, she eventually said, "So this will tell us what we need to know about our pokemon? So we aren't guessing the moves?"

Zain would just hold his pokeball up, looking at it, before addressing everyone Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a pokecenter to visit. Zain said, performing a quick two fingered salute and turning to leave, straightening his jacket and scarf as he did so.

Tsukai struck a pose and said.
Hahha! We did it!
Tsukai then Patted his Seel and congratulated, his Seel knocked out the Cubchoo with a powerful Icicle attack.
You did wonderful Seel, you took those two out like a champ, keep that up and you should become a force to be reckoned with
Tsukai called Seel back into his pokemon and handed it back to the professor to heal Seel as he did take some damage in his first battle.

Zain would walk towards the door, and find it unopening, having been locked prior ((last DM post)) to prevent any further incursions. Mahogany beckoned him to follow as he had taken each Pokeball and left them to be healed. In the present, Professor Mahogany took a sip of his own tea as he started hearing the first questions, Dray being the first to speak.
"Oh no no no, you needn't worry about that. You see, trainers in the Ekkon Region help keep the populace safe by keeping dangerous Pokémon in check. You see, before we had any real Trainers, the Ekkon Region was wild and dangerous, for Humans and Pokémon alike. Many creatures of incredible power live within our borders, and you all, as trainers, help to maintain a delicate balance. By training, exploring and bonding with your Pokémon, you help keep the Ekkon Region safe and grow your own power and prestige as well.
As you're all new trainers, your journey will take you all across the Ekkon Region. We have no Gyms or Pokémon League here, your skill is tested in other ways. Your Pokedexes will contain information on the route to take to finish your pilgrimage to the Granite Stadium, where the Grand Tournament is held to pit Trainers from all over the Ekkon Region against one another in a series of trials and battles for the prestigious title of "Ekkon Grandmaster" for the next year. Though I wouldn't worry about that just yet."
Professor Mahogany showed everyone how to work their Pokedex, walking them through the map and Pokémon info settings so as to give them the basics. In addition, he put them through to the Call function, allowing the Pokedexes to function as communicators to others if they decided to stay as a group and got separated, as well as a line to Professor Mahogany's lab, if they needed information the Pokedex couldn't give. Professor Mahogany was just about finished when Yorlam spoke up.
"Yes, these Pokedexes will give you all the relevant information to any Pokémon you have captured. Your Starters will be downloaded to your Pokedex the second you touch your Pokeball, and will do so each time you catch a new one. It will still give information on Pokémon you don't own, but less so than if you catch it, as the data required for the more detailed information has to be streamed from your Pokeballs. Any other questions? Or shall we check on your Pokémon?"

"Dangerous Pokémon?"
Dray said, quietly repeating what Professor Mahogany had said. Dray quickly made the assumption that dangerous also meant strong. This also led the young boy to think that if the trainers kept the balance, then they also had to be strong themselves. Dray snapped back into reality as the professor talked about how the Pokédex functioned. Dray remembered his Uncle saying once that when he had his first Pokédex it was completely blank. But that was back when the Pokédex brand was in it's early days and very few trainers had one. Dray nodded when the professor asked to check on the Pokémon. Dray immediately nodded.
"Yes please."

Yorlam had spent much time before, talking with her parents about how this thing worked, so she already knew all the functions and such. She had watched the Grand Tournament yearly and knew what to expect. This was more or less a rite of passage for her as well, her parents did it, her grandparents did it, and so on since the tournaments founding. She politely nodded to the professor and said, "I'll try for the tournament! I can totally win the thing." She then thought for a moment to make sure she didn't have any questions, then said, "Actually, one question. Where should we go once we leave the lab?"

"Well, looks like we one guys, yay for team effort," even though he knew that his psyduck chickened out and he blocked a gust of wind from a pokemon... "so profesor , I'm a bit disappointed. Psyduck just left during battle, why is that? I mean, I understand I may have downed out a bit, but common! He still had the strength to fight!" Archy was pretty pissed since he embarrassed himself twice.
Calming down, archy also handed the profesor his pokemon, and said quietly, "still, he did do well out there. Here, could you patch him up for me?"

Tsukai accepts his Pokedex and Checks it out, he opened the pokedex entry on Seel and read up on what it has to say about him.
Thank you Professor Mahogany, I will do my best to keep the populations of dangerous pokemon in check.

Zain would spin around, realising his mistake. He would look a little sheepish as he held out his Pokeball to the Professor Oh, right... uh... here. he said, before nodding to Tsukai I share your question. Where you sendin' us? he asked the Professor, probably after he took the pokeball

"Your Pokedexes can handle the specific route, but as I recall, the closest stop on your way to the Grand Tournament is the town of Rhapsody. The route itself is not particularly long, but it passes several areas filled with Pokémon. You'll likely go through the Neverwood and cross the Bluefinger Wetlands. That coupled with the shadow of Mount Nefestra not far away, you will all have many chances to grow your Pokémon and yourselves along the way, I suggest you take them if you are to face the Trial in Rhapsody.
You may enter the trials set to you as a team or separately as you all prefer, but don't' expect the challenge to be the same every time. Adaptability is the best quality of an Ekkon Grandmaster after all. Now, your Pokémon should be fit and ready, shall we check on them?"
Professor Mahogany led the group towards the door he had emerged from, a large machine taking up the far wall housing the six Pokeballs. Professor Mahogany took one and activated it, the Natu he had used flitting about as if nothing had happened. Stroking the green spherical bird's feathers, Professor Mahogany allowed the group to take their Pokeballs one at a time.
"You may release your Pokémon to travel with you if you prefer, though ones like that Tirtouga might have trouble keeping up. As for the question of that Psyduck, it's simple. Your Pokémon do not fight -for- you, but with you, and if you do not help guide them in battle, they will be unable to fight effectively, and become frustrated with their Trainers. Your Pokémon are not your guaranteed allies, and must be nurtured and respected. If not, they may become unruly and unresponsive to your commands, and may even leave you if they feel mistreated for too long. Keep that in mind as you travel, you don't want to be caught in the wild with no Pokémon to defend yourself."
Ushering everyone out, Professor Mahogany unlocked the front doors, opening them to the clear air, Team Nexus long gone by now. Sifting through one of the drawers in the lobby, the Professor procured a small bag of Pokeballs, enough for an extra five for each member of the group, letting each one take their maximum number, Professor Mahogany pointed out the route to Rhapsody on their Pokedexes as they walked out of the lab.
"This is all I can help you with for now. Head through the city and along the path into the Neverwood. There is a Pokémon Center halfway through the route, but be careful not to bite off more than you can chew out there. Know when to stay back until you are stronger, or it'll be all the harder to get stronger in the first place. But for now, have a safe journey, and good luck to you all."
Professor Mahogany waved goodbye as he ushered the group on. He only hoped Team Nexus wouldn't overwhelm them, Melissa seemed too interested in them and their Pokémon to be just greed. Closing the doors, Mahogany continued his research, the Natu pecking t a bowl of food contently as the group crossed down the winding road into the centre of Silverport City.
The group had many choices for how to progress, such as heading straight through the busier main pathways, go another, longer but less busy route, or dive into an alleyway and risk an attack by Pokémon foraging in the city for food. Whichever way they would pick would have to be decided on as a team, it would be easy to get lost in the throng of bustling people all around them.

Dray acknowledged what the Professor said. While Dray was not interested with competition, he might as well try out. Dray then followed the Professor through the door. Seeing the large machine with the six Pokéballs inside Dray walked up to it and got Tirtouga's Pokéball. While traveling with your Pokémon sounded like a good idea, Dray knew that having Tirtouga trail after him could prove difficult for the Pokémon. Maybe if there was a small river near by that Tirtouga could swim on. With Tirtouga's Pokéball in hand, Dray opened up his Pokédex to see the information stored inside on Tirtouga. The moves Tirtouga knew where Rollout, Bide, Watergun and Withdraw. So Tirtouga was filled up on known moves. Interesting.
Dray closed up the Pokédex and put it in his pocket. Dray also minimised Tirtouga's Pokéball and attached it to his belt. Dray then went out of the room as the Professor ushered him and the others out. Dray stood at the door that the professor opened up as he waited for the Professor to hand out the five extra Pokéballs to capture other Pokémon. Dray also took out his Pokédex for the Professor to point out the nearest route to Rhapsody.
"Thanks for the help, Professor."
And with that Dray was the first to walk out of the lab. Walking down to the bottom of the small stairs, the young boy looked behind him as he waited for the others. He might aswell wait on them as they should be going in the same direction for the time being.

Yorlam smiles to the professor as she retrieves Deerling's pokeball, "Thank you for the information, Professor." She then turned to the exit and then turned towards the same direction as Dray, towards Rhapsody. She was ready for anything and she knew it. Though she decided to stop with Dray and ask, "You going this way too?" It was probably an obvious question but Yorlam was the clueless type who didn't do obvious.

"Ok then, looks like we are on our way then psyduck, let's go get you fixed u- wait a minute, your just confused though right? Hell. I don't think you took a single hit, other than confusion, this whole battle! Still, we don't want you slipping on you own move again." Psyduck was obvious embarrassed by what happened back at battle, but still a little mad at his trainer. "Look psyduck, I'm sorry I spaced out on the battle, I wasn't focusing on the task at hand, it's my fault that you went back to your ball."
"Anyways, you where awesome out there, I'll do my best to repay you for my behavior, I hear that there is a café near, maybe we can get you something nice. Let's see if we can tag along with one of these guys, after all, it's best we stay together, knowing there is a enemy watching. In fact, once we've built our dream team, we can set out to investigate this little problem." And like that, he put psyduck back to his pokeball, and prepared to head out to the pokecenter.

Zain took his Pokeball back from the Professor and nodded Rhapsody, huh? Alright. he took the Pokedex, quickly registering Fennekin and all the other knocksd out Pokemon around the lab, before following Yorlam Hey, Yor... whatever, I would recommend you stay and wait for us. We're stronger as a team. he said, though he himself was not a patient person either and was quickly memorising the route to Rhapsody from his map that he had brought. His eyes would study the digital map wildly, looking at every route there was as he waited for the other trainers to arrive.

((Note to everyone, this next post is basically an activity check, if you don't post within the deadline in 3 days, you will be removed from the RP, no exceptions.))
The sun shone brightly as the city in front of the group was calm and serene, as if nothing had happened. The streets occupied by a smattering of people, some with Pokémon following them obediently, some without. The group was faced with several options in front of them for which route to take, all leading in the direction of the exit to Rhapsody.
To their immediate left, there was an alleyway between two rows of buildings. This alleyway seemed largely uninhabited by Humans, but some small scurrying and shifting in the darkness suggested some Pokémon resided there. Most would likely be still wild and capturable, but it was rare a Pokémon in the city stayed alone for any great length of time.
Directly ahead of them was the main road, large and well-maintained, and by far the most populated of routes. The crowds were grouped around certain attractions or stores, a Pokémon centre was also there, but since all the groups Pokémon had been healed prior, this likely was of little immediate use. Some small stalls had been set up among the storied building however, many with crude hand-painted signs and their wares on old rugs on the floor. It was unlikely these wares would be especially expensive, possibly free if alternative payment could be provided.
To the right, the road cut at a right angle, then again to make the docks. Though less populated, some dock workers were there, though some looked less than personable. Still, the docks were simple to navigate, and occasionally, Water Pokémon snuck into the Docks for an opportunistic meal. The docks were also the shortest route to the exit, being a straight path to the other side of town.
A those present mulled over their choices, Zain's Pokeball suddenly vibrated, his Fennekin releasing itself. Taking a few cursory sniffs of the air, the Fennekin turned to a slightly wilted bush on the edge of the path, setting the innocent vegetation alight with a single Ember, causing the dry wood to combust immediately, getting a few worried, and occasionally disapproving, glances from closer crowds.
