Basics
Faction Name: MECH, acronym for Militant Engineered Cybernetic Hardware
Faction or Sub-Faction: Military contract division of KSI, directly connected to US Military by said contract
Function: Reverse engineering of Cybertronian technology to develop equipment and weapons for United States armed forces
Insignia [/b]( Optional ):
Faction alignment: KSI, United States
Background
Where it was created: Texas(site of initial research and testing)Time Created: 2010 AD
History: MECH was established in response to the damage caused by the Autobot/Decepticon war on Earth. In the beginning they scavenged damaged armor and discarded weapons from the aftermath of battlefields. Using these samples they began analyzing them, determining what could cause damage to Cybertronian alloy. Using this research they began developing specialized alloy jackets for bullets that could allow them to rupture a transformers armor given enough concentrated fire. Progress continued slowly in such similar manners, scrounging up scraps and studying what still works. Eventually they had gathered enough parts and components they began developing prototypes for weapons derived from cybertronian technology, such as null rays to mount on tanks. These tests have yet to yield viable designs, but it did create a shift in focus that would align their current path.
The largest breakthrough came when they started collecting the bodies, or parts of them as the case may be, of fallen Vehicons and Autotroopers. By completely deconstructing them they claimed access to massive amounts of Cybertronian construction. they could now test the effects of interfacing human technology with the robots direction. Connecting an Autotrooper's arm to a gasoline generator, or pulling data from a Vehicon's cranium, they began to learn how to fight them, even if they didn't have the capability yet. Moving forward a few years to the present, they have weapons that can inflict real harm on a transformer with careful planning. They couldn't overpower a a group of the machines, or even one strong one. But now they could single out and pick off weaker members of the armies, and collect them for study.
Size: Batallion [5000]
roughly separated as 1000 specially trained soldiers, 1000 specialized scientists and researchers, and the remaining 3000 being standard duties maintaining the functions of the base, such as medics, custodians, clerks, etc.
Roughly half of the total staff is active at a given time.
Ranking
Leader: Robert DysonRanks: MECH uses basic US Army rank structure for the most part, aside from the scientists, who are equivalent to second in command and given free reign of the facility as necessary.(What is the ranking system for the sub-faction/faction Ex Commander, SiC, Members)
How to join faction: Faction members are pulled from US military personnel or scientists working with the military. To join they must first receive from Army higher-ups, then demonstrate skills that can benefit the program if they don't want to end up a janitor.
In order to have your OC join MECH, contact myself through a PM and state what skills the character in question has. From there it will be determined what position they would hold based on what they can do. Requirements for an OC to join are fairly simple, must be human unless unusual circumstances occur that result in otherwise, and they must be willing to serve the united states. MECH doesn't accept anarchists, terrorists, or the like.
Race: Humans
Assets
Base Location ( If any ): Headquarters located in northern Texas. A large army base appropriated for the experiments.
Current Assets (If any): Motorpool consisting of 20 armored vans, and 25 sedans modified to withstand more damage than normal vehicles. Heavy weapons such as RPGs and electrified capture net launchers for collection purposes and specialized armor piercing rounds for firearms for basic defense and suppression.
