Another thing that I have to mention is the big amount of lonewolves, for some reason this group is divided in factions,to work together with people. Not to make things for your own. We, as decepticons and autobots, every has a purpose to serve their faction and be proud of it. About the leaders, seems they are more worried about themselves and their small circle aside to be worried about the whole faction. For some reason they are leaders, to lead us to the victory, not to only take care of their families of make their weird families. They can do it, of course as long as they get their responsibilities done. In the other side, the only active staff who take care of the community are few, and mostly alone, the rest just seems to enjoy the benefits of being superior without show a respectable reason to keep them as staff. I dont hate them, I only want to say the true Note, the next serie of comment's are mine, they are just of another people that i wont mention unless necessary. "Inactive staff, heavy limits, factions that have no identity or goals, ignorance of NPCs, random banning of elements, silly rules that serve nobody, etc..." "The community forgets how fights work and their consequences" "Character rules limit many OCs to cookie cutter molds" " Lack of accuracy to the true cause of the factoons Lone wolves everywhere A burning desire of the mods to do nothing"
I've seen good plots but sadly they have been ignored, or rejected by the lack of communication, if we need to keep this site working,we need to cooperate and speak. Staff, where are you?, People, where are you all? where is the glory of the TF Roleplaying? Where is that burning feeling of working with a mate to defeat the enemy? Love me, hate me, but this needed to be spoken

Yeah, Gears takes me to NY to beat up cons for a bit of therapy and after-battle conversation, and what happens? Like, FOUR people chase after us to barrel in on the fight without thinking about anything other than "Oooh! Fight!" And they don't help. They just all wanna take a poke at Backbeat, which can't be helping his mood either.
Something has to be done. And not by placing more rules/guidelines.
These 'lone wolves' who just follow fights everywhere are getting really annoying.

I'm sick and tired of 50 different people trying to attack my character!
I'm cool with fighting Whirl and Gearchange... But everyone who showed up afterwords needs to go. I even gave them a reason! But rather than save civilians it's let's all annoy Backbeat!
I'm sick of the lone wolves as well, I can't lead if everyone who works for me is the "badass lone wolf type who has no respect for authority"

Whirl wouldn't bother about human casualties. Gearchange would care, but he wouldn't be so worried if his loyal Autobots went to help out.
Also, 4 on 1 is kinda stupid, because it makes Backbeat look like a godmod, which he usually isn't.

Personally I agree with a lot of this. The state of the community and RP is going nowhere right now. There are a lot of admins on the site, but very few of them do anything. The common excuse is Work and School, but if you're not ready to commit you should be demoted to at least a moderator. This quite frankly, leads me to believe we need an admin rotation, not fully as there are some admins actually doing the work such as Skyspray and Grief.
Perhaps if some of the people more involved in the community are made to be admins the roleplay might get somewhere, which is why I suggest something as removing the current admins and then voting to put new ones or ones who were doing the work in their place. It also doesn't help the admins don't listen to what the community wants and are off doing private RPs being chased around by Lone Wolves seeking their attention because they have a shiny badge that isn't being used as anything other than for popularity.

I agree that the community and staff here need a swift kick in the exhaust port to get moving. I get it, school and work get in the way, but the fact is this place needs structure. We don't need to have harder rules, just smarter ones.
There needs to be a more robust power structure, with more frequently online high quality writing players at the top. We need plots, we need consequences, even if they're only temporary. An Autobot risking the lives of humans, even through negligence, will likely be incarcerated. A Con Grunt disobeying the one in charge is likely to have their spark perforated, imprisonment and beating if he's lucky or useful.
I put a plot forward to Feenix, but she hasn't gotten back to me as to whether or not she will greenlight it, that was a month ago at least. I realise you're busy, but give me something to work with. We need people to get up and post more often, which in turn will encourage others to post more frequently, perpetuating the cycle. So many good plots, even in the AU section, went down to one or two people deciding to bugger off once they got important to the plot. I get it, inspiration is hard to get sometimes, but give it a go at least.
Hopefully if this plot works, we can force a bit of interaction, activity and accountability into the RP, even if we're just injecting a little dab of it to spice things up. Admins, Mods, we need you right now, to either set things in motion, or give someone who will the help needed to do so. We're gonna lose more and more people if we don't shake things up.

Some of our Admins are school-going. That inevitably cuts their time. Work doesn't cut so hard, but still puts a damper on things. A combo is very restricting.
The main reason I actually told people I never want to be a staff member was because I didn't believe anybody would take me seriously. Or they'd hate me.

Well, seems we have got many opinions about the staff, but in there is something he have to pay attention too, the users.
Stop being hypocritical, Yeah, I'm referring to many people whose names I wont mention, but I think the collective mind knows who they are. If we are asking for a change, as members of this community, we should have a bit of responsibility and respect.
Another thing I've noticed is the blind preference of factions. It would be common when you're new in the TF RP universe, btu I've seen people with experience and they continue making the same mistake, let's compare this political parties (I know, politics, eww... but if you don't like that example, just look for any belic and civil conflict of your preference), If you have to belong to such group, as a character, you have to follow their moral-ethic code because you feel identified with those ideals, and you're able to fight and give your life for them, you fight to protect yourself, your family, your people, culture, everything that has a value of you or your OC.
Decepticons has their own ideas, autobots does the same, but lately those ideals has been forgotten and left. Dont try to choose an autobot cause you want to be one of the good guys because YOLO, and being a decepticon wont turn yourself into a terrible person IRL. But it's really stressing to have people in the wrong side as they believe they are serving to their superiors with a nonexistent honor. Hell, that is like to have a mind closed capitalist in a bunch of extremist communists. (sorry for the example, I don't intend to offend someone) We aren't the protagonists of the main RP, this sounds like really bad, , but that is good because aside to have a monotone story, we have many points of view, interesting by themselves, every battle, every lost, every victory, even if they are bad to our OC, it will worth it only if you and the others are able to enjoy it.
We need to set solutions, real solutions to all, and stop waiting to see how the things are fixed by themselves, if we want to see solutions, we have to do it for ourselves, and the best way to make it, is fixing our own issues.
Personally I think I have to improve many fields as user and RPer, but I'm trying to do the best as possible, but I'm going to stop taking about me.
Let's speak about solutions.

We admins have lives too. I am considering resigning as admin to focus solely on roleplay and being a Prime as well as balance my social life (possibly lack their off), my current job in game shop retailing and my course at college (which fyi I challenge anyone to try and balance). I speak for myself when I say, some nights I drag myself in from college, look at the forums and cannot be bothered to rp due to the fear of anything I say or do backfiring on me royally and causing arguments.
Which considering I am already under a lot of pressure and stress from all things, anything that happens (or backfires) here, might push me beyond my limit of emotions and stress.
Scaryfire is right, both admins and users are to blame, but remember, even though we are the staff, we have lives and stresses outside here too. Please, to the users, remember this.

I'm seeing things from both perspectives, I would very much like to go on as admin, but I have a life to balance, when I departed TFU before it shut down, back then life was crappy, I had a bench load of exams to do, warring family over the treasures my granddad left us.
Nowadays I'm juggling alot of things, social life, work life, coping with being diagnosed with a disease that runs in my family. So I do agree with the admins on the fact that even they have lives and sometimes are unable to manage the site fully and efficiently due to something going on in the background. And I agree fully with Fee, trying to juggle all those things above is no joke. I was practically on the verge of losing major friends due to my hours at work and college a year back.
On the other hand I also have to agree with the community, I myself know a few admins over the years of RPing on here and on TFU and DA/Skype, and of course I know a few users here too, but all that aside even I see the admins not doing much. I mean personally, I've had a few RPs I've wanted to plot out with the lot of you, but have had fear of being turned down because of the rules. I feel as if though I've have to cut out what makes my character truly unique in order to play it safe.

I apologize for the long post incoming, but I feel it all needs to be said. I agree with a lot of what is being said here. I especially agree about the lone wolf thing. Here is my suggestion: Let them face the consequences of their actions IC (within RP reason of course). I'm not saying target them all the time, but if they get themselves caught in a pinch because they chose to go out on their own, that is their own fault for jumping in on their own without a plan involving other people. Yes, we have the no capture/kill without permission rule, but that doesn't prevent you from beating them to a pulp before letting them off. They can complain all they want, but there's no better way to learn than to let them fail.
Leaders: This is WAR. Insubordination is a MAJOR offense and should be handled as such. I get that you may not want to punish people IC because people have a habit of taking it OOC (which is another problem I see with players here - but can be resolved if properly taken care of), but characters will not learn otherwise if you keep letting it happen. I also understand that you may not want to 'lock them up/put them in timeout/send them to the medbay' because it might take them out of an RP that they might have wanted to do, but there is interesting RP to be had when something like that happens.
On the flip side, there needs to be actions towards getting members of a faction to get to know each other better. I see the same small groups running together all the time, which doesn't lend itself to overall comradere. It's just a bunch of small subgroups under the same banner where not everyone is on the same basic page. I'm not saying everyone has to know what everyone is doing all the time, but people need to know who is actually there when they need someone to go do something with. I'm sure there are unintentional lone wolves simply because the character(s) doesn't seem to get the chance to actually get to know the other people of their faction. Though, perhaps I'm the only one with this as Chiro is in the medbay all the time and doesn't really know anyone besides what tidbits of info she gets while repairing people. *shrugs* I actually don't have too much by way of suggestions for solutions on this unfortunately.
Now onto other things I've noted. Embellish your posts with IC reasoning! Don't meta and rely on "chance" to run into people over and over again: Another note that's been brought up, give reason why your character would know/do something! Even if it's just a thought in their head, write it out for other players to see. Personally, even though I can't take the information IC, I enjoy reading the reasoning for character's actions, it gives more substance to a post than just "So-and-so does this and says that". I'll take the example of constantly tracking down Backbeat (since that was brought up earlier). How would they know where he is? Did they actually figure out a way to track him? Did they read a report or see a human news report to learn the information? 'Serendipity' only goes so far in an RP before it becomes metagaming (unless it was actually a planned RP to begin with). Just a heads up.
Communication, plots, and suggestions for ideas and rules: Out of character, however, we REALLY need to get communication lines going better. I know I'm not the easiest person to get a hold of, that is my own fault and I fully admit it. I'm working on making better time for TFG because I love you all and I want TFG to be a fun place for everyone to come together and have fun. Primus knows I need it to relax from the crap that life likes to throw at me. So far, I've just been maintaining the master character lists and moving the apps, but I'm always open to listening to the community's suggestions and complains. I have no problem mediating between people and coming up with possible solutions.
That being said, I'm a player before I'm a Mod. I want to be involved in awesome plots. I want to RP with everyone all the time. But I understand the admins can only do so much to organize the players and plots. At the end of the day, a plot's ending will be determined by the players' choices. And the plot can go extremely well or very terrible depending on the characters and people involved, because that's how life is. I didn't really have to wait for other staff to approve my small personal plot, I organized it with the people who were going to be directly involved and affected and got it started myself. Yeah, it fell off because RL stuff happened (I still feel terrible about falling off the map), but I'll be picking it back up and it may effect other people in due time. But at the same time, I know that all the other plots going on also effect my own in some ways.
Big plots that may affect the community as a whole in a significant way should still be vetted in some form or fashion, but my suggestion is to send it to more than one staff member and get a discussion going. That way, even if one staff member can't get back to you immediately, it's still being cycled through and considered.
That being said, I do NOT like how ideas/suggestions are often immediately shot down without a second thought, and this goes for staff and members alike. I believe all ideas can be reworked to better fit the environment of the RP if it doesn't already work off the bat. And if members really want something, us as staff should seriously consider it/find a balanced way to implement the idea. We are here to make this place fun for our members while keeping things organized and fair. I do not like the 'us vs them' mentality between staff and members. We're all here to have fun, but we're all human, mistakes will be made.
Also, just because something is set as a rule, doesn't mean that the rule can't be changed later to better fit the RP environment. Right now, there are some members who are showing the need for the tighter rules due to lack of experience or some other reason. And as much as I'd love to have an open RP environment with just the basic rules of conduct where everyone is responsible for their choices, some tighter rules are necessary until people learn and get better. Yes, it's the "few bad apples spoil the whole bunch" thing, but that's what mentoring is hopefully going to work on. That being said, if you REALLY don't like how a rule is worded or whatnot, notify several staff members with your reasoning as to why the rule should be changed or removed!
For you TL:DR people, with RP stuff, there's a lot of things that are happening (or not happening) in the RP that doesn't make sense if this was all happening in real life. RP actions and decisions will have consequences both good and bad, and that is OK! People will screw up plans, people may help plans indirectly, and if you want a private RP or limit the number of people involved, STATE IT CLEARLY! As for ideas and suggestions, for the love of Primus, submit them to multiple staff members! I can't speak for other staff members, but I know that I will read and consider them as I do not like how ideas are getting shut down without a second thought lately. Even worse knowing people aren't suggesting things on the basis of the rule - which CAN be changed with proper reason and solutions. I have a lot of hope for this site, and thank you all for bringing things to my attention that I didn't know about -or knew and wasn't sure if I was just being over-analytic or not-, rather than letting it fester any longer.

What Chiro said. Hurrah for the only staff member I haven't yet had an argument with yet!
When it comes to punishing IC, remember we have an infinite amount of space in the Brig. And you can't make people spend all their time in there.
No matter what the fearmongers say, this site is far from doomsday; it isn't even on the Doom-Road.
What I think we need right now is all the promotion we can get. Advertise the place on your facebook/twitter page, people! More members will increase stability.

So I get that I shouldn't be a big one to talk in a topic like this considering I've used the life excuse to more or less stop roleplaying with my characters and write a solo series for Riptide. Here's the thing though; even when football ends and life gets less hectic I'm not sure I want to go back to full time role playing here. Things just seem so stale and just writing that intro to my Riptide series was one of the funnest things I've written for the character in a while. I loved writing it and I can't wait to write more!
The fact that I don't want to rp and focus more on solo stories seems like a problem to me. Where have we gone in the past year or so we've been on this site? We had the opening where Feenix became Prime and that plot with the island but what else? What about that summer storyline that as far as I know never really got too far off the ground? I believe we are too scared to change things up and this "plot" has been reduced to generic Autobot Vs. Decepticon battles that lead to little character development. So what solution do I propose?
LET'S GET CREATIVE!! That summer plot seemed like a good start but we never did anything with it. The T-Virus plot looked good but we never did anything with it. We have so many plots people are making yet we aren't doing anything because it could be too different or too game-changing. If I were to reveal some of the stuff I have planned for Rippo's solo series and try to get them added in to the main rp I can guarantee you that they would be shot down. So what if we have to add another board? Let's add space and give people spaceships! Spacebattles would be a great new flavor in the rp! That's just a starting point though, and I think it would be a damn good one. Let's stop being scared of change and do something to change things up and get rid of this site's stale taste.

Those of you who are paying attention to all of Backbeat's plans actually already know about the big event I have planned... For those of you who don't, I'll give one hint...
Backbeat was not the only thing to survive the end of the previous universes, and while it will take some time to get things ready... Mayhem and destruction will come to earth...

I'm going too chime in here, I too use real life excuses for disappearing, so I'm not sure if I have the right to state my opinion on the matter, but since this is the wondrous world of the Internet, I'm going to state it anyway. Now I've had some free time these last few days, but just didn't feel like wasting that spare time Rping on this forum, because there's never really anything to do, as many have stated in their own words. No one wants too be part of a community where there's nothing going on, so people try to go solo, simply for the sake of having something to do. I agree that part of it has to do with in activity, but it also has to do with what Riptide just said as well. We've had many interesting plot ideas, and story-lines given that we could really benefit from, but any time some one suggests something, it gets shot down before giving it a chance. Yes some of them involve game changers, and that's scary too think about. But, honestly sometimes you gotta take that gamble, the minute something has few complications. rather than try to change it, people get too stubborn to compromise, and or the staff just simply dismiss it, and never think about it again. Sometimes you just gotta take a step back, and give something a try, even if there's risk, because what's the point of doing anything if there is no risks. Part of the issue here is simply that, people are too worried about what could happen, that they never get too see what will happen. The minute someone see's something they don't like about an idea, they whine, and complain about it before it even has the chance to see the light of day. All is I'm saying is how do we know something will work or fail if we don't give it a try. Simply put, inactivity is being caused both by life issues, and from the lack of anything to do worth while, and the one's that do stick around try too solo everything, and others treat it like a damn popularity contest, and try to stay within the same small groups. Basically what I'm saying is by taking a chance, and trying one of the given plot, and story-line ideas, we might be able to get activity up too the point where the forum could turn around. Because, lets face it if nothing gets done the this sites just going to crash, and burn sooner, or later. Anyway, that's my thoughts on the matter.

We get you have lives, but you guys can't use that excuse when rules are in place to make sure rpers with canon characters have to stay active.
