Why on earth are you guys trying to over-regulate ships, what is wrong with how things were in TFU where people RP built ships and used them. You didn't see anyone complaining about old MAS's ship, because it was fine. Now my team uses a ship as an HQ along with other groups, and this is just killing the creativity of the rp. Let's please take a step back and relax and let things just flow like they used to.
Thank you mods. -this rant is courtesy of your friend Death Wish.

Hey there Bruise. c': Mind if I call you Bruise? Okay, let's begin.
First of all, I would like to respectfully request that you rename this thread. That isn't an order from the staff. Actually, it's just out of personal preference because the name is quite disrespectful, and I really don't like it. Thanks in advance.
Second of all, ship usage was temporarily banned quite a while ago. I'm surprised you didn't get the memo, and I'd like to apologize in advance for the staff if you couldn't find the place where this was specified, and were not aware of this rule at the time it was created. To put things simply, ship applications are in desperate need of reworking because of certain... issues in the RP.
Now... let's see, you're saying that we're "killing" the creativity of the RP because we're planning to regulate ships? In your words exactly- "[W]hat is wrong with how things were in TFU where people RP built ships and used them." Strangely enough, Bruise, I was the mech in charge of ship applications on TFU. Yes, that's right; ships on TFU during the later days of the RP were required to actually have a ship app approved by someone. I will not give you an attitude in my response, as much as I would like to, and I would expect the same courtesy from you in your response that's sure to follow this. I will put this simply.
In order to prevent the abuse of ships within the RP, the staff is creating a new set of requirements for ship applications. It will be strict. This is because members in the past have godmodded using ships, and caused major problems that made big messes within the RP that staff had to clean up later. For your enjoyment and the enjoyment of others, to avoid temptations to bend and break the rules and cause issues with both users and staff members, the staff will not be accepting opinions or suggestions for this, either.
Thanks for your time, Bruise, and thanks for understanding. c': I'm sure that once the new ship application process has been approved by a majority vote in the staff and posted on the forums, your ship, the Resurrection, can be properly approved and implemented into the RP.

While it is true Beats that you did not do as I did, and I myself do it on rare occasion, but I will make some points to you grief.
1. I was aware of the ship banning, but from what I heard that had ended.
2. We go around trying to regulate everyone here thinking that was the problem with TFU, which it was not. Of course that is merely my opinion.
3. Grief, when were you in charge of ship applications. I was there the last days and there was no ship regulation, in fact there wasn't really an active you.
4. We are supposed to be creative in how we do things and with our stories, and yet we are so worried about abuse of an object. It's just like dark energon and synth-en. DE I could see because for a rare substance we used it like candy, but what is wrong with the Avacons using synth-en, it cannot be OP, but we get overly worried about everything these days.
I wonder do we remember the days of old where we did as we pleased with much fewer rules, shoot early on in TFU when rules were almost non-existant, those were the best times if you ask a lot of those people. So my point is while a little extra regulation was/is called for, ship building was/is not even close to being one of those things.
And my final question is: are you a mod grief?

I apologize that you had that impression, but no. No, it has not ended; not in the least. It will not end until a new ship application process has been approved and posted, as I've said several times already.
2. Your opinion is noted, and will be filed away for future reference should it be needed again.
3. I was in charge of ship applications by Indigo's appointment, when he created the SECT sub-faction. It was before you were active... I believe, at the time, you were not an RPer on the site. Either that, or you were too busy with the Titanbots to notice. And yes, while it is true that I, my self, was not active during TFU's last days, I passed the ship applications down to someone else. As I have been told time and time again with reference to events surrounding a surprise attack on the Nemesis, as well as a massive fleet of ships that came from seemingly nowhere, he did not do his job like I had told him to.
4. I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's not the staff's fault. If RPers don't want to be creative and follow the site's rules by not abusing what they can do around the site, then we are forced to regulate and restrict certain aspects of the RP as a result. It cannot be avoided if you want this site to continue running.
Ahhh, the "good old days" where children were allowed to run amok. ^^ Yes, I remember quite well just how silly those times were. Godmodders were not subject to any authority, and could run around doing as they pleased. People died and were revived on a daily basis with no reason whatsoever other than that they "wanted to." RP was so fun, wasn't it, being so chaotic and unstructured? Yes, by the way; that was sarcasm. That was heavy sarcasm. How things are now might not seem ideal to you, but if you would take a moment to see things from a more mature prospective, then I think you might find that RP here on the forums can be very, very enjoyable- while you still adhere to the staff's rules. And let me tell you, I've been around. I've got more than six years of RP experience, and for at least two of those years I was either a moderator or an admin of one or more of the groups that I RPed in. TFG, while it may seem to you like it's getting too many rules, is still very, very open to ideas, and still very, very free. You have no idea just how worse things could be. So, maybe instead of complaining, try to look at the positive- is what I'm trying to say. ^^ Regardless, I appreciate you voicing your concerns and your opinion. Keep up the good work!
However, I regret to inform you that complaints aside, ships will be regulated from here on out. Thank you.
To answer your final question, yes. Yes, in fact, I am a mod, Bruiser. c':

Very well. If you disagree with my being a mod, then you need to discuss it with the staff- including me, whether you like it or not. I've been giving help where and how I can, and my being a mod will only benefit the site in the future. But, if you really do insist on disagreeing with it, you're entitled to your opinion.
Actually, as busy as we all are, I'd be quite interested in having this be discussed as soon as possible. I'm a new mod, after all. If there were ever a time to protest my joining the staff, now would be that time.

This isn't the same TFU you once knew, we aren't a community of gamers trying to play to beat someone else. We are now a community of smart writers who know what they're doing. And while every now and again something bad happens, but we clean up, help out, and move on like we always did that's how people learn. And while we may try to act all big and grown up, but remember when this just started we were kids, kids who just played for fun, with freedom to try and create and conquer and carry out a story. So maybe ships will be regulated, but I bet you I will be giving my every suggestion, because as you know well, I always have an opinion

Thank goodness staff transparency does not apply to conversations such as these, otherwise I would have some serious issues with sharing the full severity and magnitude of my own opinion on the things you're saying here.
Put simply, the RPers here have demonstrated day in and day out that they have not, such as you are suggesting, matured. Not in the least. While I do agree that some help to fix the problems they cause, the fact that they're constantly making new issues that the staff has to deal with (for one, complaining about completely ludicrous things such as a temporary ban on ships, and complaining in general) certainly demonstrates that they have much to learn yet still. And while they learn, they can't be allowed to break the rules willy-nilly as they please and make a bigger mess of things.
Yes. I know you have opinions on everything; most people do, I find. How they impact things on the forums, however- your own personal opinions- remains to be seen.

Same old Grief, I love how you haven't changed a bit Of course there are some with issues, but if you regulate everything then nobody learns. How do you think I became what I am, hundreds of mistakes which lead to learning. Look I godmodded a ship build once as Gladiator Megs, then I learned and created the resurrection the right way. So maybe the staff needs to expand to handle the problems, because mistakes are necessary for people to learn. And the reason even though I mature my attitude remains constant, because when I care about something, I always express my opinions for what I belief is right.

I'm afraid that the ship regulations are a necessary evil, Bruiser. Although they are another rule forcing me to rethink and change my systems, I will have to put up with it just like you or anyone else on TFG. The ships on TFU were extremely out of hand towards the end of it's lifetime, but to be honest, that was not the fault of RPers such as you or me, ironically some of the staff of TFG were responsible for the fleets.
So just sit tight, and when the applications come out, make the Resurrection. Mind you, if the apps don't provide proper way of listing features and perks of certain ship models I require, then I will gladly get things done to fix such a problem.

And I tell you it would my friends, especially with the means our characters have, the 'cons would try rebuilding their empire and ship fleet is part of it, when rp'd correctly. And remember staff makes mistakes too, and again learning from them.

I'm afraid that people like Sydrone and Vampyricon, being the worst offenders, are not the only ones that would abuse ships, Bruiser.
Remember that this is not a TV show, it is roleplay. Though I wish that we could treat it more like writing a book than a PvP game, it's what we have to do.

There are far too many things that we don't have in common with that. Here are several things that are different: -TFG has all OCs balanced and that will soon apply to ships (which I personally want to be balanced) -TFG cannot have disbalanced factions, both sides have an equal chance -In TFG a power like a ship would need to be reasonably countered, that is not true in TF TV Enough about that, onto my opinion on ship balancing itself. Obviosly ships would be armed, and I like that. But if they are armed, how does a bot counter one? I say with accuracy. A ship is designed to fight ships or other large objects, as well as stay away from the ground by auite a bit, so getting a shot wouldn't be as easy as one would think. Also, I think that a ship's armaments should be fairly limited, no excessive missile count, esspecially since explosives defeat the purpose if the low accuracy concept. I want ships quite a bit, and the sooner the better, but complaining isn't going to help, what will is suggestions. -Gateway

Look Bruiser, I hate to say it, but you clearly aren't remembering TFU, and the disaster it became do to the lack of restrictions, and rules being set in place, and no one to enforce what rules were set. You yourself got pretty carried away at times Bruiser, don't get me wrong those days have passed thank goodness but still. The staff members have to regulate everything, to avoid possible bending of the rules, it's a pain, but that's the way it is. From what I heard, and from what I saw just starting out at the end of the 'good old days' on TFU people were still having a lot of issues, but weren't sick enough of it to really do anything. When you got on to TFU, you kinda joined near the beginning of TFU's descent.
If ships didn't have so many regulations, then everybody, and their dog would have a ship. As I've heard stated many times, it would increase the likely hood of people trying to attack the Nemesis, and other ship bases. And, people naturally would find away to use them for godmodding. I understand your frustration Bruiser, but rules, and regulations for every little detail are more necessary than you'd think, to insure everyone's enjoyment on the forum, and for things to be kept fair, because lets face it. Once people find loop holes in the rules, they'll milk it until it causes major issues. These guys are just being extra careful to insure that, that doesn't happen, I know it seems ridiculous, and excessive, but it really is for good reason.
But, if you think these are a lot of rules, and regulations, I dare you to take a look at any successful RPforum, and look at their sets of rules, and regulations. It would make this place look like a very easy going system.

Not meant to be flaming just emphasizing a point, and I haven't been sarcastic in a while, and it's starting to badly effect my brain.) Oh... then with that logic, lets get rid of the height requirement, and the banning of Unicron, Primus, Trypticon, Omega Supreme etc.... Why not get rid of the dark, and synth-en rules while we're at it. Since you know it would happen in the TV show, we can totally trust people not to godmod with that stuff.

Can I do an application for a personal ship? You know a small ship just for 1 pilot, a personal one. Not too much firepower, nor durability and everyone can steal it.
