Note: This thread is an expansion of Skyspray's thread, "Armies. (Both Factions)," also located in the Suggestions and Proposals section of the Staff Lounge.
I realize that the state of both factions' armies has been discussed in the 'Armies. (Both Factions)' thread by our admin, Skyspray. However, I have a proposal to make regarding a similar subject; not the state of the factions' armies, but rather, their general workers- the factions' task forces. This would include all strictly non-combatant workers among the Decepticlones and Autodrones, all of which would be more use to bots who are mechanics, engineers, scientists, or any of the other technically minded professions.
All Decepticlones and Autodrones will be able to be killed in one post, minimum, and multiples can be killed per post in some cases. The kill caps for each class will be specified at the end of the class's description. Also feel free to leave your opinion on this proposal, as well as any alterations you would like to suggest- your input is greatly appreciated. Changes to this thread will be made as the proposal grows and changes, at least up until the point when/if it is accepted and applied to the roleplay.
Task Forces {:: can be created for any sort of task: repairing damages from a specific event, working on a major project such as the creation of a ship, construction of another wing of the faction's base, or even more menial tasks such as isolating an issue with some issues in bots' equipment and fixing it for them. Task forces can be requested to be made by anyone, but may only be created given the proper approval by Autobot/Decepticon high command. Certain drones must have special requests made to have them included in the task force, such as specialists and rovers, while other units are free for general use in a task force so long as their skill set is needed for the task. The number and types of drones included in the creation of a task force is up to the one giving approval for the creation of the task force, though the one making the request may make their job easier by outlining the types and numbers of drones that would be most effectively used in the task force.
Please make note that task forces are not open for general use. An occasional lone drone of low quality for general maintenance on important things is acceptable for people to use every now and then, but task forces need to be requested formally to be created.
Supervisor Units {:: the strongest, most resilient of the workers among the task forces. Supervising units do just as their name implies. They supervise the work of fellow workers. Generally mid-sized drones, supervisor units are average in all stats- strength, intelligence, speed, etc., but they make up for it with their influence on other drones. Without supervising units to keep them going, other workers may be disorderly. Having a supervising unit working with other workers improves the quality and efficiency of their work, and allows them to continue working even while OCs are absent, unable to lead the workers themselves due to their activity elsewhere. With a supervisor unit working on a project, OCs only have to check on the work occasionally. Max amount of kills: 1 per post; 1 total.
Light Workers {:: the weaker drones, but the most abundant among the task forces. They tend to more tedious tasks that larger, more powerful drones can't accomplish without breaking smaller, more delicate equipment. When problems pertaining to 'general maintenance' arise, light workers are sent to fix them. While abundant and moderately skilled, however, light workers do not specialize in any specific area of engineering, and cannot help if a problem requiring a specialist comes up. Max amount of kills: 3 per post; 9 total.
Mid-sized Workers {:: drones between light workers and heavy workers, the mid-sized workers share common stats with supervisor units; average strength, intelligence, speed, etc. They are more capable at working with delicate, sensitive equipment than heavy workers, and slightly stronger and more capable of heavy lifting than light workers. Mid-sized workers come in an abundance, but are used more sparingly than light workers are; less expendable than light workers, but more expendable than heavy workers. Max amount of kills: 2 per post; 7 total.
Heavy Workers {:: the strongest of drones in the task forces, heavy workers are called upon when brute force is needed. They fulfill all your heavy lifting needs unfailingly, and without complaint. Heavy workers are also used in cases where extremities are concerned: extreme heat, cold, etc., due to their higher resiliency. Unfortunately, heavy workers have no delicacy in their actions, and are ill suited to work with more sensitive, technical work. Outside of heavy lifting, heavy workers have little use. Max amount of kills: 1 per post; 5 total.
Specialists {:: the rarest of all drones, specialists deal with one particular profession. Whether it's science, medical practices, mechanical engineering, or anything else, getting a specialist approved for service in your task force can make all the difference in getting projects accomplished more efficiently and expediently. Specialists are particularly hard to come by, however, and approval for the addition of a specialist to a task force is often rare, the implications of such a decision considered carefully by high command. Specialists are unique, however, in that their work is not influenced by supervisor units, and that they can continue working in the absence of an OC's supervision even when supervisor workers are not present.
Types of specialists: computer technicians, groundbridge technicians, ship mechanics, weapons engineers, scientists, communications drones, medical drones, chemical drones. Max amount of kills: 1 per post; 1 total.
Rovers {:: the only non-sentient drones. Rovers are usually connected to surveillance systems that serve specific functions, anything from general security during major, important projects, or technical assistance in places where other drones are too large to enter. Max amount of kills: 2 per post; 9 total.
As this is, at the moment, only a proposal, all suggestions for changes- whether major, or minor- will be seriously considered.
