"Hello Shift," Aero smiled at the bot who just came. He seemed to quite friendly in his opinion based on the previous encounter in the dojo and the dining hall. He tilted his helm slightly as he heard the words of Shift, as he still wasn't familiar with his way of speaking. Aero thought that it was a bit unusual as he had never heard people speaking like this, though wasn't really a bad thing. Not usual doesn't automatically make things wrong, he was quite curious why Shift speaks like this though. But he guessed he shouldn't pry? Errmmm... And he didn't seem to know Vaqus, and according to his memory banks he didn't think Vaqus had met Shift either. As the one who knew both of them, should he be introducing them to each other? He mentally grimaced a bit at his lack of knowledge in social norms... He guessed he had to work on it as well. He wasn't sure the way to introduce people, as usually people introduce him to other new mechs. "Errmmm... So, ehh... Vaqus, this is Shift. He's a student here in the Academy. And Shift, this is Vaqus. And he's also a student here. But he wasn't there in the lesson you came."
He hoped he had done the introduction properly... Well, even if he didn't do well, he guessed they wouldn't mind, hopefully. It's not like that this was a scenario that perfect etiquette was needed. Still, being Aero, he might occasionally worried too much.
"So... where are we going next? 'Scout out a different direction' isn't really very clear. Scout out for what in where? And what are we really aiming for? I mean, Burnout and Afterburner are going to check someplace for us to stay safely. And Vampyricon and his friends are going to try to drain the water. But should we really do? Are we just meant to escape, or are we required to restore the place back to normal? Do we have things that needed to be protect or things that needed to be disabled? And are we even sure that Primal is behind all this? It is the most probable speculation, but we don't even have proof... yet. Still, all we are doing are straight to actions. We don't really have a full plan. I know it's important to improvise, but when you don't even know the goal, how do you know what you're doing is relevant to the goal?"
Aero abruptly stopped when he realised that he was babbling again. He sheepishly added, "Sorry if I sound too nervous, well, I might be a bit nervous right now."

((Hang in there...we might actually get to you mate. Any body up for something more fun than sitting around?))
Vaqus arched a brow as he watched Shift make his decision. So he was riding with them? Interesting selection. Vaqus guessed that it was his cool air. Well, aside from that, perhaps his easy going nature, not something Afterburner would spat out. Oh yeah. The little femme dropped off an empty 'stay safe' like an older sister who had been forced to baby sit her little brothers, but she had decided to play on her iPhone the majority of the time. Vaqus may have just been hearing things, but it just didn't sound very convincing when she had just insulted him right in front of his face twice. On another note, Burnout's guidance wasn't all that superb, but no one was perfect, and Vaqus was making an effort to not make an enemy with Burnout. But he felt some kind of rebellious attitude swelling in him that he wanted to be an enemy--he was probably going to just be one of those random guys Burnout knew in the end, if he was taking it at this pace. Vaqus turned his attention to Aerojet's introductions, and then inquiries.
Vaqus: Hey Shift, pleased to meet you. Welcome aboard the train of expendability. As Aerojet said, I'm Vaqus. A bit of an older student than you, but thanks to my inactivity, I'd say we've been around the same amount of time.
Vaqus lifted his visor so that Shift, this strange mech could see his optics. Vaqus was usually warm towards weirdos, because they were a much more entertaining and promising crowd in his optics. Normal people were either boring or predictable, but mis-fits or strange beings were the kind of people who you never knew where you could get, and they were usually full of unique features, features which Vaqus liked to see. Vaqus scanned over the mech, looking at his body, tilting his helm at different directions at Shift so he could see him at different angles. It was almost as if Vaqus was lifting Shift up, emptying his pockets and or putting him under a microscope without touching him in the first place, but it was a warm examination, not at all a cold stare Shift may get form someone like Shockwave. The dark russet and maroon Aquatronian let his hind rotors hum peacefully as he began addressing Aerojet's questions.
Vaqus: Welp, frankly, they all took my suggestion really. According to my HUD, they're already in their locations, and really, I frankly don't know what to do. If we scout, we're scouting for nothing. There actually was a plan I think, but too many people where here to take it up, and like I said, we're the left overs. Which means, in my book, we really have no purpose here.
Vaqus spoke frankly. He eyed the walls thoughtfully.
Vaqus: And since we broke rules already, I say if we snap a few more it won't matter. In this scenario, I say we recycle ourselves for our own objectives. While these students figure everything out, we could do something like go on a rescue...or a hunt....
Vaqus trailed off, already thinking of the lost femme, Diamond. Where the frag was she? Leaving would probably be unwise, but hey, if they helped Autobots, it'd all be good. The team probably wouldn't approve, they probably wouldn't like how he struck out like this, but in all their thoughtlessness, they could deal with it. Vaqus imagined himself being stared down by Burnout, Feenixfire, Afterburner, Skyspray, Wildfire, and others. For a moment he almost reconsidered, before he shrugged it off.
Vaqus: Clinx picked up a distress signal of an Autobot. This mech isn't just any Autobot, he's the Maximus. I say that's a good enough excuse to quit class for now, and since we don't know for sure it's Feenxifire, we have no evidence and all that, we let our beloved teammates handle this while we handle something else. What say you, fellow extremists?
Vaqus gave a grin, his copper optics glimmering in the ventilation shaft.

((Hmmm, why not? Shift does need some time outside at some point.))Just like that, Shift's processors quickly edit their internal memory banks as he nods again towards AeroJet's clarification. Looking towards the mech known Vaqus, he notices that the dark russet and maroon mech was already observing him. 'Was he also a medical trainne like Autobt AeroJet?' he thought, deciding to return the favor back towards Vaqus out of his pure programmed habit. No else has studied Shift's presence prior, besides the aforementioned AeroJet, so it never crossed his mind that anyone else would take the opportunity of doing visual research if it wasn't their job. Although, to be fair, Shift wasn't a medical trainee either."Oh, thank you for inviting me to your "train of expendability", Autobot Vaqus! Although, I would like to note how inefficient that mode of locomotive transportation must be if it is considered easily replaceable. Unless that is an idiom statement. Perhaps a hyperbole?" Shift replies friendly. "Oh, but anyways, nice to have your full acquaintanceship today."The "Vaqus" character definitely had a really interesting appearance upon color inspection: the variants of brown and red, the bizarre copper-purple optics, the jagged helm with references to fish-men of old--. Speaking of, this mech had an aquatic-based vehicle to boot. Quite the original mode in the litter box filled with aerials and land mobiles, and very intriguing at that. Shift could only smile gleefully as he records his appearance, mainly because he had to remember to get back on mission. Clinx picked up a distress signal of an Autobot. This mech isn't just any Autobot, he's the Maximus. I say that's a good enough excuse to quit class for now, and since we don't know for sure it's Feenxifire, we have no evidence and all that, we let our beloved teammates handle this while we handle something else. What say you, fellow extremists? Probably not the SAME mission though. At first, the technopath wasn't too keen on the idea of aborting their current situation. After all, they were still dealing with a flood situation that could possibly destroy the whole base without their assistance. Plus, was this a test set up by The Headmaster: FeenixFire Prime? Or at least, that's what the other have claimed it to be. There was still insufficient evidence to tell others. Regardless, they could be punished for voiding a potential training session; albeit an extreme one, but still! Then again, this possible act of truancy has a good purpose behind it: saving another teammate. Therefore, it can't be considered bad to disobey a not-so-clear training session (if it is one) that no one was informed prior to go about a rescue someone, right? These questions were sort of starting to overwhelm the Bot's processors, but he had no other choice anyway. The others were already breaking off to their sections, so all that remained where these three amigos. "Sure, Autobot Vaqus. I suppose we should travel past this flooding situation and rescue a fellow Autobot in need," he replies, "although, I really hope this is such a good idea."

/* sorry, late post because of rl */
“Errmmm… I think the ‘train of expendability’ is just a sarcastic remark of Vaqus?” Aero tilted his helm and eyed Vaqus suspiciously, “…You didn’t really have a train, right?”
“And yeah… You’re properly right… They did take your advice. I don’t know why, but… all these… things happening, are a bit confusing and I’m still not sure what we are supposed to do.” Aero sighed, a bit tired and exasperated.
“Still, while we might be regarded as some leftovers, we need not be. We would just have to find something to do that contributes to solving this incident, like… ermmm… well, I guess we can always do something?” Aero stated, though his voice was becoming weaker towards the end of the sentence. ”I dunno, like stopping the water from the source?”
“And I doubt that we can legitimately break more rules. If the theory that the Primal set the while thing up is true, maybe she would only find it acceptable to break the few rules she expect us to broken, not others. And even if she didn’t expect us to break those rules, we can always argue that the unknown fluid has the potential to cause damage. Because of that and the potential malicious intent in hurting the bots here, we are forced to leave. All these are reasonable reasons or, well, excuses. But for breaking anymore regulations, we might not be able to get away easily. My point is, before we make the decision of break more rules or not, we have to consider the consequences. I’m not saying we should be paranoid about breaking any rules, what I meant is that we shouldn’t ignore any possible outcomes…”
“And that’s the Maximus, I mean, he’s important. Maybe we as students needn’t go there. Other Autobots can help,” Aero stopped mid-sentence, froze a bit, before continuing, “And when everyone think like this, no one would go to help…”
Aero thought for a bit, and admitted, “I know I am a bit… okay, I am very nervous about breaking rules. To me, rules are something that helps maintain order since I was small. While rules are not always perfect and are meant to be broken sometimes, I hope those would be rare cases. When I think I have to break those rules, I keep thinking whether it’s a correct decision.”
“Vaqus, do you think it is necessary to break to rules this time to help others?” Aero sincerely asked Vaqus. While he might be reckless sometimes, Aero thought that Vaqus could make good sense when he wanted to be. And Vaqus didn’t seem like a stupid bot either. ”We still have a mission here unfinished. Do you think we can leave it to others and go to help the bot who sent the distress signal?”
Aero didn’t meant the question as a rhetorical question, but a question truly asking for Vaqus’ opinion. Well, Vaqus already stated his opinion before, but Aero wanted to confirm it again, and if possible, listen to Vaqus’ reason.

When it came to describing him in one word, some would have say Vaqus was 'mischievous', or 'clever', 'daredevil', or even that he was simply 'strange.' Vaqus liked all the above definitions, and he loved living up to it. While he would do anything for friends, Vaqus enjoyed being his own mech. It was fun, it meant little could tie his hands, he would be free, doing good, and he could always find a very decent excuse. Initiative, going above and beyond the call of duty, playing the hero--all were masks and excuses holding servos. Inside Vaqus was free. Nothing would hold him down for long, not even the scowl of Unicron. It was strange such a mech had been raised by a strict parent, and his longing of freedom had spawned from how by-the-rules his parent had been...Vaqus just simply looked at it like he could be a very 'good' boy, or a very 'bad' boy. It was like the 'good' boy inside him often was babbling about what Vaqus should or shouldn't do, but usually, that goody-two-shoe could be shut up with an adventure. He still talked a bunch though. Vaqus blinked as this went over in his helm along with the mixture of other things. Aerojet's reasoning...Shift's opinion...and some exclamations for this and that.
Vaqus: Aerojet, while you have some points regarding the water downstairs, I did mention that the Chronobots were told by our praised leader Burnout to plug up and or dispose of the flooding. Those dudes know what to do when it comes to science mumbo-jumbo. They're probably finding the perfect solution right now. Meanwhile, Burnout and Afterburner....twenty credits say they're gonna be girl-firned and boy-friend...are taking care of the controls, so they can either way restore the rooms back to normal. Like I said before as well, Burnout gave us orders to 'go in a different direction'. That leaves us with a new deck to pick up, and thus we have a bundle of opportunities just waiting to occur.
Vaqus said. He kept his bronze and just barley purple optics on Aerojet as he addressed him, before glancing to Shift. Perhaps the mech wondered why Vaqus like dot seize people up. In truth, Vaqus had used to be a detective, and so he still out of habit looked over everyone.
Vaqus: As for breaking more rules? Yeah, sometimes rules are what keep people in order, and what we're supposed to follow, and there's a lot of people who'll just follow them to their last dying breath, but really--if you think about it, rules are guid-lines, and in my view, some guid lines can be either corrected in certain situations, or just ignored. Plus, do we really have anything better to do then save the Maximus? Especially when everyone else has got this all under control?
Vaqus gestured to the passage ways their other comrades had taken. He rotated his helm around to stare at another passageway, one which would lead to another place; the ground bridge control.
Vaqus: We really have no evidence that Feenixifre's behind this. I will admit, she probably is, but there are no signs. And, if she really is, we can just say we helped save one of her most valuable men, all out of initiative. Not to mention while the others handled this flood problem, we did something else. Possibly just as good. We might get a few frowns...but no one can deny good reasoning or good doings when they themselves promote it. Any more questions?
Vaqus asked, keeping a few of his comments on his replies to himself. If this were a real emergency in the first place guys, we would be receiving coms from all over the Autobot base that they're in need of us elsewhere, or that we all need to rendezvous. The Academy is the only place this is really happening in because a teacher like Feenxifrie herself set it up. Everyone in the frequencies that my HUD has swam through are either casual conversations or mission talk. The flood is a test. Vaqus was tempted to say, but simply kept a straight face on, and nodded his helm to the passageway which lead to the ground bridge control area.

A squiggle line formed on the confused look of Shift's face as he listens to the first part of Vaqus's response. The idea of potential breaking the rules was still an uncomfortable position for the mech to stand on. In fact, it felt like a mental tick in mind to avoid doing such things. But saving a life was still just as equally as important as following the rules, right? In that case, maybe Vaqus might be on to something about "some guidelines can be either corrected in certain situations, or just ignored." After all, he claims to be older and old sentient creatures tend to have more experience on life. This allows them to create better pre planned decisions around familiar scenarios because they have lived through them prior. Thus they are considered wise and trustworthy to the uninformed. Besides, his connection to the innocent AeroJet must mean that he's someone worth taking advice from.
"I do not believe that I have any further questions relating to your seemingly logical reasoning behind our next plan of action, Autobot Vaqus," Shift replies, "I am still hoping that the Headmaster FeenixFire Prime will not misunderstand our intentions."

((Let's get going here...)) Vaqus just shrugged his broad shoulders at Shift, both him and Aerojet were like the two students who could never bring themselves to live. Or something. They were only the age they were once, and to Vaqus, that meant that they ought to do something as they lived, not be afraid to die, snap a few rules, make mistakes, and have a blast. So that when it was time to check out, they would be at some peace. of course, he didn't always live by these lines, and he wasn't the kind of person to shout 'Yolo!' before jumping head first into trouble. VDUs was more of the kind of guy who would just live in the moment...or that's what he called it.
Vaqus: Time to get going. The Maximus can't hold off whatever trouble he's freaking out about forever. Hence the com-message you know.
Vaqus stated, beginning to climb through the ventilation shafts towards the gb controls. He hummed to himself as he went, motioning Shift and Aerojet to come along since he had made his points, and he was doing what he had said he would. He did have a bit of a rushing sensation, since they had to get a bit of a move-on if they were going to get this guy. And get out of this base before I'm discovered...Vaqus thought, as he continued to crawl. He did not do it too quickly, as to allow Aerojet and Shift to keep up easily yet the mech still moved with a purpose. His rotors hummed excitedly, as if they too had their own agreement on the decision. Vaqus continued on, heading for the Control room.
Before he turned around the bend of the vent which he climbed in, a green portal came into existence, swirling right before Vaqus, right where he would have turned. Vaqus raised an optic ridge before grinning and chuckling to himself.
Vaqus: Looks like my little minicon Clinx beat us to the controls and opened a bridge for us. I guess that makes our little trip to the outdoors shorter. I don't know about you guys, but I'm going in. This ones for the Maximus, as I said before, so when--I mean, if, you snap a rule in two, just tell yourself that. Maybe you already have.
Vaqus said with an easiness in his voice, before facing the green swirling vortex. He gave a small huff, and crawled right in, his form disappearing into the green portal, which continued to remain open for Aerojet and Shift...
(( transformersgalaxyrp.freeforums.net/thread/119/autobot-halls-command-central?page=37 for you guys if you want to see where I posted with Clinx for evidence.

Shift watches as Vaqus motions towards a potential way out, while also reiterating the importance of their mission. His apprehensiveness about this whole situation was still latching on as ever, so he decides to replay Vaqus's advice as a way of remedying it. 'Rules are technically guidelines that can be corrected under certain situations or ignored. Right, the statement makes sense. Guidelines are technically not absolute therefore can be altered when it's necessary or proper,' he thought in conjunction. Why should he be afraid of doing good, right?
As he follows the Aquatronian, a green light rips through the emptiness of the vent ahead as Vaqus quickly informs them about it. Though, it was weirdly presented. Minicon? One that's known as "Clinx"? Never heard of such a thing, but it did sound like something of interest for Shift to research later. Well, along with the equally as fascinating groundbridge and the tech involved. The mech quickly shakes himself back into focus as he stares towards the portal again, noticing Vaqus had just left.
"Oh, Autobot AeroJet! I hope you are catching up with our current location because we are heading off into the GroundBridge vortex system," Shift calls out, trying to look out for others as usual. Even then, he didn't want to be left behind himself! So, just like that, he also decides to disappear within a simple "ZAP".

Vaqus's right. Saving people was more important. Aero bit his lips nervously and hurried into the vortex, following Vaqus and Shift to the Autobot that required help.

It had been quiet for a while... No bots roamed the halls, no voices spoke. Not even the shallow sound of an extent was heard. For the hallways were empty, and even the occasional ants had stopped entering. But in the vents, slept two sparklings. Water, from a test long passed, meant to incapacitate those being tests, had been accidentally swallowed by the mechs. It cycled through their energon veins, rejuvenating again and again. Until, after a long time of wear and tear, it stopped. Now, the silence was broken, by a simple cough. The blue-colored mech slowly woke up, his vision fuzzy and processor weary. It took him a few minutes to register he was in a vent, and when he did, he struggled, to the point wear the vent crashed, echoing about the halls...
