Windtalker would have smirked if he could. Windtalker flapped to the ceiling silently, slowly dropping altitude to behind one of the still functional Vehicons, a no doubt familiar sound being heard by the vehicons as Windtalker drew his talons, aiming to embed them into the shoulders of the vehicon, using him as a body shield, using his thrusters to move the vehicon, forcing him to run into his comrades, then fly to the stealth soldier and lower his minigun barrel, opening fire to the non-vital areas of the Vehicons. God, he hadn't fought like this in years.

One of the vehicons goes down but the rest continue to open fire at their now visible foes... One of the vehicons sees the carts of energon being pushed into the groundbridge and tosses a grenade into one of the carts
Meanwhile, using the shadows the flock moves from the roof to the floor, they merge together to form Nevermore who tosses a knife at Taggon's back
" Three blind mice. Three blind mice. See how they run. See how they run. They all ran after the farmer's wife, Who cut off their tails with a carving knife, Did you ever see such a sight in your life, As three blind mice! "

*Afterburner then jumps out from her cover and begins to engage the guards outside, killing them and heading over to the entrance of the mine.*
Damn scrapheads... hope the Energon in there is worth me not going on a con murder spree...
*Afterburner says to herself as she enters the mines, a fireball beginning to form in her left servo to give her some light, she then heard the sounds of fighting deeper within the mines. She could smell the fighting as well and caught onto the scent of energon.*
Ohh... Such a beautiful scent.

(( Hey Backbeat, want me to help you with Chaff, make this a bit more juicy?)) -------Windtalker’s location------ The protectobot who blasted for the vehicons with his shotgun, fearlessly approaching the enemy, was not to allow them to gain any firm standing or score any points in this battle. As he saw one of the enemy troopers pull out a grenade, uncapping it as to fling it into one of the last mining carts, the trooper narrowed his optics behind his visor, and furrowed his brows. No. The Decepticons would not be permitted to cause such a chain reaction. The protectobot barreled forth, to apply his combat shield to take the explosion of the grenade, prohibiting for it to journey any farther than it already had. The explosion blossomed into a fantastic clouds of spitting smode and fire, but the protectobot had fulfilled his objective, and the cart was allowed to hover safely into the ground-bridge, energon and all. Fortunately, no other energon was nearby so the Protecobot only had to fear for his arm and rough landing. Clanking to the ground with a thud, the protectobot winced. Taking the hit for the cart with his shield had caused his arm to snap out of its socket, and unless he acted quickly, he would be doomed. Still grimacing, the protectobot brought up his shotgun as he lay on the floor, firing again for the faces of the vehicons with his EMP blast, intending for his opponents to fall as he did. If not? He would enjoy the company of his brothers in the Allspark soon. ---------------Taggon’s position------------- Taggon was not at all amused how Astrinal believed he required back-up, and the fight had just begun. He remembered tearing up the members of her old A19 Strike team with ease, and in the end, narrowly defeating her. It had been a while back, but Taggon remembered, and he disliked it more than anything when he was treated like a rookie who needed extra attention. No good soldier questioned his commander’s intentions though. No good soldier demanded that he be given the honor to fight alone, and to foolishly risk his own life at the hands of an enemy he did not quite know yet. It was these thoughts that kept Taggon in line at the moment, and washed away any small feelings of irritation. Despite some of his achievements, he would still always be learning some way or another. He was a warrior, yet it did not mean he knew everything. Sometimes it made Taggon frown on himself for even thinking so independently. The next step up, which was too close, was speaking such words. It was an often made conclusion, that with Astrinal and most superiors like her, ‘Yes ma’am’ or ‘Yes sir’ were the best answers. So Taggon would let Astrinal arrive when she did. Until then, he would did as he was told; hold off the enemy. Whoever and whatever the enemy was. The flapping of birds was heard before a knife was thrown at Taggon, but the warrior was not caught off guard by this move. Hearing the unsheathing of the blade thanks to the caverns echoing effect, Taggon was able to spin around in time this turn before the knife hit him straight in the back plating, bringing up his shield saws and causing the knife to clank against them before falling to the ground, the thrown blade’s momentum nullified. As he spun around to block the said knife with the straightened right fore-arm, Taggon used his left one to slip his own knife free from its sheath, the blade not making a sound thanks to the contents of the sheath; Every blade sheathed on Taggon had a cushion in its sheath, thus muffling any sound it made when being drawn. It was as the sound of music began that this maneuver was played out on Taggon’s part, and the vehicon wasted not a moment, his left servo coming right back up after his other arm, launching a knife for the femme who came into being. Taggon did not completely get how she came into being, but he knew that he was to attack since she was no doubt responsible for the previous attempt on injuring him in some way. Taggon’s reflexes were very acute, and even if Nevermore had good reflexes, she would be dealing with a little more than she perhaps suspected in this package. Taggon was capable of thinking about a second or two faster than the average Cybertronian, in that he was able to transmit orders from his brain module to his appendages, which meant they too would react faster thanks to his keen reflexes. The end result was more kinetic energy being built up because of his reflexes and actions, causing the knife to be thrown with more of a swift force. Not only that, but the designated knife Taggon threw was no ordinary knife, and was actually an explosive blade, which had the explosive radius of an effective grenade. Practically centuries of training and fighting topped together, and thus Taggon was also a very professional knife thrower. A hit was not definite, though aimed for the dead center Nevermore’s recently formed torso.

Windtalker stopped smirking. A comrade was in danger, and he needed to do something. Windtalker's minigun barrel swung about, revving up for a second before unleashing a torrent of bullets at the Vehicons, no longer aiming to simply wound, but kill. After a bit, Windtalker swooped and barreled to avoid the fire, his small form making it easy, then he opened his talons, letting out a screech that echoed about as he attempted to impale the talons into the chest of the nearest vehicon, closing the appendage and ripping out the spark. If he succeeded, he'd toss the spark at the nearer vehicon. Vehicons would die for their faction, and that was good. It meant that they had the same goal in mind.

A groundbridge opened up within the cave. The backup Astrinal had sent arrived. Walking out first out if the green and purple swirling vortex was Sparkflare, a 20 foot tall mech. Raising his right servo to his chest as the armour of his forearm opened up revealing his dual barrelled blasters which were attached on top of his forearm, they were just hidden underneath his armour. Scanning the area for any 'cons to shoot at with his arm stretched out. Sparkflare gave the all clear. They must be in a different part of the cave. Taking a few steps forward into the cave Sparklfare's cyan blue optics rotated anti clockwise as his jaw dropped slightly as he looked back at the portal. Danny walked in first. But it was himself that was out first when he had entered last. Guess the groundbridge was a bit faulty. Staying where he stood, but keeping an eye out for any 'cons, Sparkflare waited for Danny to come out of the portal.

(( Not really... ))
Nevermore splits apart, the knife hits the back wall of the cave instead and explodes, proving an entrance for the two surviving vehicons to arrive through
One-eyed vehicon: Time to leave...
He calls in a groundbridge, Nevermore rolls her optics and tosses down a smoke bomb

------Windtalker’s position------
The protectobot was not surprised nor pleased that the Decepticons were retreating, and he continuously fired for the vehicons as they opened a ground bridge, firing his shotgun shells until he was out of ammunition, and needed to re-load. The protectobot just scowled behind his mask, and arose from his position. The mech only took a moment to dust himself off before talking to the minicon before him, slightly overlooking the smaller mech to make sure he was alright as well. “Are you well sir?” The protectobot asked, knowing it was his job to make sure.
------Taggon’s location-----
The blast radius of the explosive knife could have very well effected Nevermore, as quickly as she could disperse her parts or not, however, Taggon had more pressing things to deal with. The explosion in the cavern illuminated the dark chasms for but an instant, before the light resided as quickly as it had arrived, leaving the residence of the cave as shining bio-lights or optics. Now as the darkness absorbed his body, only the vehicon’s deep red visor was the visible part of him, the rest of the vehicon consumed in shadow. The ground bridges in which the protectobots had fled out of were closed and long gone, leaving the stealth bots that were in the cave and the new comers. The ground bridge from which they had originated still lit the cave around it dimly, and the newcomer whom had emerged from it stood, waiting. Taggon walked calmly to the new comer, scanning him over with his visor. The mech was twenty-feet, a scout no doubt by how his chassis was constructed, and quite frankly, had chosen a bad color selection if he was going caving. The yellow shown dimly, reflecting more light then the blackness which decorated only some of the mech’s chest. Taggon noted the color of the young mechs eyes, a lively and clear blue, which shown with vigor upon its surroundings, soaking up everything as a scouts optics often do.
Taggon’s vision in tunnels was very fine, thanks to how he had spent a good portion of his life in them, his own optics had their own ability to adjust to the blackness. Taggon saw the Autobot insignia branded upon the mechs chest, and the way he stood only proved her was young. The confidence his body still held and the eagerness shown like stars to Taggon. Taggon did not hold a pint of dislike for the new arrival, but he knew a young mech with some life when he saw one. With youth came mistakes, as hard as anyone tried to avoid them. If this scout were what Taggon partially estimated, he was brave too, possibly in the sense that he would do some things that were a bit reckless. Before Taggon had his servos on his next knife to throw, now his servos were at his sides, before he stooped to pick up a left-behind pickaxe. Taggon was not a moron, and considering how Astrinal had mentioned back-up coming, this rookie-material was most likely it, coupled with someone else. Astrinal was not a femme to send a rookie out a lone, so another rookie would be appearing out of the bridge shortly no doubt.
“What do you make of your surroundings, given what you have just witnessed, soldier?” Taggon asked in a calm voice, it lacked disregard, but it had a cooling feel to it. Taggon had already seen and made note of every detail in the room. He had been here for hours before the Decepticons attacked, and even after that, he already knew. He kept his visor locked on Sparkflare, who may or may not have been alarmed to see a vehicon approach him out of the shadows and not shoot. Taggon turned around at such an angle the scout would be able to see the Autobot insignia branded to his own shoulder, yet Taggon did it in a way that made it seem like he had merely been turning around; letting the scouts observance suit him. Taggon sent a texted transmission to Afterburner and Windtalker;
:: The Decepticons have retreated it seems. All energon save a small portion was mined and sent to the base. Not a scratch was given to the workers. They gained nothing, and yet they made their absences. Keep a sharp optic out soldiers.::
Taggon transmitted to his allies. He continued walking through the caves, inspecting the area again to see if he missed something. He did notice a tiny gem lodged in the stone wall, which cocked his helm at, and picked off. Its colors were unclear in the light of the ground bridge, but Taggon subspaced the item for later storage nonetheless. It was not a collecting habit, but rather, a preparation for the future.

A groundbridge would open a far reach from the battlefield, hence Astrinal emerging by herself. As the bridge closed behind her, Astrinal crouched down and slowly advanced down a single tunnel. Astrinal had managed to pinpoint the strange signal, and the battle beyond was raging. In order to secure the object ahead of time, it was only logical to proceed from behind.
Arming herself with her EMP Shotgun, Astrinal was only a 100 yards away. At the rate she was going, she would be able to get to the point in about a minute. Picking up speed a bit, Astrinal had no clue who or what may be at the object already. Her only hope was to get there before anyone else did.

Windtalker perched on the protectobot's shoulder, establishing a connection. Did he call him sir? He held no rank....
::I'm fine. Are you alright? You took more shots. Tell Taggon that he doesn't have any prisoners. I killed some and the living ones got away. Damn cowards.::
Windtalker shifted his weight a bit, edgy that they left. Maybe they got scared. He'd be scared if a minicon and protectobot killed several of their men, but not that scared. It wasn't right, at all.

The protectobot just grunted, ignoring the small twinges of pain he was experiencing. he just wine back to lurking in the shadows, patrolling all over again, :: I'm fine sir.::The protectobot responded, and then signaled Taggon, seeming to sulk some as he patrolled, as if some of his day had been spoiled by something. The protectobot continued to stroll, not noticing the extra Autobot signature. Even if he did, it would not matter. He would huff some as he reloaded his own EMP shotgun, readying it for further combat should it come about. ::Taggon sir. We have no prisoners.:: The protectobot stated simply, not all that pleased with his efforts.

"Not in this area I imagine. Astrinal must of bridged us here so we didn't exit and get shot into pieces by any 'cons."
Sparkflare said as he looked up at Danny before turning away by 90 degrease to his right and pointed down the tunnel with his left servo. Sparkflare knew the battle was there, since there was only one way.
"Since this is only one way, I imagine that this tunnel leads to the bot we are supposed to back up with fighting the 'cons."
Sparkflare then turned his helm away from Danny and looked down the tunnel and turned the head lights on his chest. Without waiting, Sparkflare then walked down the tunnel with his right servo and held it up his chest armed with his gauntlet blaster at the ready. Turning a single corner of the tunnel, Sparkflare noticed there was a clearing. Turning off the headlights and crouching against the corner. Sparkflare, currently unaware if Danny was following him or not raised his right servo u, to signal halt, for a few seconds before lowering before peering out and looked around. Noticing there was a few Autobots, Sparkflare raised his right servo again and swung it forward, signalling to move. His Elite Guard training experience served him well. Standing up and closing the armour from his right gauntlet, hiding his weapon, and walked into the clearing.
"Looks like we missed all the fun."

After about a few minutes within range, Astrinal sudden passed the signal. It was odd, hence Astrinal took a step back to see what was up. It was almost like she'd walked right over it. Well, the thought wasn't entirely ridiculous. Ya, she was underground. But it could be above or underneath her. Astrinal wasn't much for mining knowledge, but she did know when things needed to be excavated: with explosives.
Without a second thought, Astrinal's servo grasped a grenade, which she began to set up on the ground where she use to stand. It didn't take her long to pull the pin and scram, skidding behind a rock or two and covering her audio recepters. The grenade would detonate, digging into the rocks and earth and making a small crater. The explosion itself would shake the cavern system, and admit a loud noise. After a moment of silence, Astrinal brushed a bit of dust off of her, and advanced from behind the rock towards the smoking crater.
What she saw was- well- not energon.
The lid to a small capsule peaked from the rocks, the engravings in the metal being slightly rusted, but enough to read. Astrinal approached with caution, unsure if the capsule was a trap or a mechanism. Sure enough, after about five seconds, Astrinal came along and brushed the top off, and sure enough, the markings were cybertronian inscriptions.
:: Sparkflare, do you copy? :: Astrinal commed, unsure if her message would get through. :: I think I found something, might wanna' come to my coordinates. ::
:: Taggon :: On a different commlink, Astrinal spoke to her A19 Second in Command. :: Use whatever soldiers you have left to secure the site, security needs to be beefened. ::

Danny had followed the yellow mech through the path. He looked at the few autobots that were in the cave.
"Well....that's disappointing for a wrecker like me. But at least no bot was seriously hurt during the battle that had occurred here."

Sparkflare heard Astrinal's comm just fine. Raising his right servo to his audioreceptor and pressed against it with his index and middle digit, sending a comm back.
:: On it. I'll be there in a few clicks. ::
Once the comm was sent Sparkflare, without a word, ran around the other Autobots and found a ledge with another tunnel. Astrinal's co ordinates seemed to lead into that tunnel. It looked like the best spot to set up an ambush. Sparkflare's right gauntlet was then surrounded by a turquoise bunch of lights. Best way to describe it was that it was like the polarity gauntlet. Extending his arm, a turquoise beam of light shot out and hit the ledge of the edge. Then Sparkflare reeled himself in towards the ledge. Before hitting the ledge, Sparkflare deactivated his grapple and let momentum do the rest. Going to his side, Sparkflare spun in a full circle before landing safely on the ledge. As the turquoise lights disappeared from his servo, Sparkflare ran down the tunnel, once again turning on the headlights on his chest. He only turned a few corners before he found Astrinal turning down the power of his headlights (so he didn't blind her) as he slowed down to walking pace.
"What did you find?"
