The DJD are strong, but the Autobots are strong in numbers.
I may not look it, but I'm one of the sharpest shooters known around these parts. Any weapon thrown at me and I'll have it figured down to a T and my target in my sights in kliks.

Breech turns her helm to look at Round Up, her rotors flexing.
"Yeah, but the Autobots won't peel your underplaying off and make you wear it the wrong way around. And they sure won't tell you it's for your own good!"

I'll do my best to avoid them then, but I'm sure they'll be more occupied with keeping the Decepticons in line than a mercenary.

Breech shakes her head, "You don't get them. They won't listen if I say I'm a neutral merc. First off, because they love any excuse, and second... I've jobbed for them in the past. And watched. And..." she bites her lip deeply, "I've joined in."
She holds up a servo, "I know what you're going to say. The DJD doesn't like other people cutting in on the fun. But I'm sure you've heard of 'good cop bad cop'? I'd play good cop, which generally involved more beatings and less melting. And wire, and tainted Energon, and other fun toys that break the body and twist the spark, and on the whole I will admit that compared to them I am the good cop, but..."
She shudders. Some of the things she has done are unpleasantly recent.
"And feeling bad about it now doesn't change the fact that a part of me enjoyed it then."

And you wonder why optimus's force was against that kind of interrogation?
Look, you shouldn't dwell on the past so much. I know its a burden to bare, but we all have them.

Right now it's horrible in her head. She has mostly the same memories, but instead of seeing them as a brutal, icy mercenary who cares nothing for the feelings of others, she now has to see them threefold -both how she used to feel about them, how she feels wbout them now, and how she feels about how she felt about them.
It's like having her head turned inside out.
"I bet you haven't done the dreadful things I have," she te!llsmRound Up gloomily.

No, but you shouldn't dwell on those thoughts from your past Breech. You've got your own future to make and this time you can do good.

Breech looks down at the sand, and lets it drift through her servos. She'd thought a cop would be more serious than this... but Round Up is being unexpectedly supportive.
"I must sounds so pathetically miserable, Round Up. It's just that after a few million years of people reminding you that you're a monster, it's generally easier to agree with them."

Deep down this war's turned us all into monsters. Good ones and the bad ones.
Round Up gazes towards the sea, watching the waves crash in the distance.

"What?" Oh, she heard him. And it's exactly the kind of thing she'd say. except to jumped up, arrogant pricks who think they're so damn holier-than-thou. But hearing it coming from Round Up, said to her, makes it sound so... sad, and cliche.
"Well, I don't know about me, but I'm pretty fragging sure you're not a monster."
She takes his servo in hers, and squeezes it.

Round up looks to Breech, a blush tint forms under his visor, he looks down to their servos.
Monsters can change though Breech, it just takes time. I've seen some pretty messed up bodies in my service as an enforcer and I've dealt with high threat targets with lethal force. I know its not a competition, but I've been exposed to all sorts of nasty stuff and you have to keep it bottled.

"And I've seen what happens to mechs who bottle it up."
Breech fidgets a little, looking at Round Up's servo and hers, noting he hasn't pulled it away. She tenses up a little.
"Look at it this way. You don't have to bottle it up around me. I don't expect there's anything you can possibly have done that I'll have any right to pass judgement on." She knows she's blushing again, and hardly knows what to think, "I'm just grateful for this second chance, even if I don't deserve it."

You do deserve this second chance Breech, you should spend it how you want to... but don't throw it away. I'll be around to help you.
The mech smiles.

"I... um... I..."
Oh, she sounds like an idiot. And she's bound to do something stupid too, any moment now. Hotwire would be so much more confident about this, but Hotwire isn't here any more, and Breech would really rather she never is again. Still...
"I'm glad. I don't need anybody, but..." she fidgets a little, moving closer to Round Up on the sand, her cheeks feeling hotter, "It's nice to have somebody. Anybody. Who is you."

Thanks Hotwire, its nice to have someone to talk to and share a few energon drinks with... You're free to stay at mine...
His visor turns a little red at the bottom.
If you wanted to, that'd be pretty swell.

"You called me Hotwire..."

Bree... That had been the nickname he had for her... until he realised giving her pet names now was a little early
... Uuuh breech... I'm sorry. I guess its still taking me time to get used to your new name.
His visor reddens even more...
I've blown it...

It wasn't the nickname. It was the person associated with that name. Not unlike calling somebody the name of your last girlfriend.
"You still think of me as... her..." Breech is clearly hurt, "I'm not her... I mean, I'm trying not to be her. She's not even supposed to be real."
The disappointment turns to anger, even as Breech desperately tries to stop it. It's all she can do to let go of Round Up's servo before her own fists clench of their own accord, her claws digging into her palms. Her voice rises uncontrollably.
"So, you want the monster, huh?! Is that what you want?! I should... have known... an Autobot... WOULD NEVER!!!"
It's a horrible feeling. Part of Breech knows it was a simple accident and it's suddenly drowning under the sudden meltdown of rage swamping her mind. She staggers to her feet, "NO AUTOBOT!!! WOULD ACCEPT ME!!! FOR WHO!!!! I REALLY AM!!!!!"
It's all she can do to speak, because she feels like any moment she's going to break down in screams.

Breech, it was a slip of the tounge... I'm sorry ok? I don't think of you as "her" you are your own person now... A new person and a fresh start.
The mech stands up... flipping his visor up to reveal his cyan optics.
I'm friends with Breech Loader... not Hotwire, maybe even more than friends if she'd just let me help her.
The mech blinks a little, now he remembered why he kept the visor down, everything was turning blurry again, he blinks again, keeping his focus on the femme.

He's telling the truth, you know it, please, please stop going nuts...
It is so hard not to. Breech is venting so hard that each one is almost a scream. She begs her systems to calm down, swallowing it down with difficulty. She clutches her helm.
"I KNOW! I KNOW! I JUST... JUST... JUST DON'T WANT TO BE HER!"
Venting heavily, she hides her face in Round Up's chassis, trying to regain control of her emotional programs. Hotwire wouldn't have burst out. Hotwire didn't exactly use her emotional programs for much more than mocking distain and casual flirting. Oh, and battle-driven frustration.
