Vatimus silently followed Correlator next to Methuselah, keeping pace with the mech quite easily. He didn't mind not having to speak, it wasn't something he wanted to do at the moment. As he looked around at all the bodies, he remained cautious, keeping an optic out for any potential ambush opportunity. The environment unnerved him a little, he preferred large fields of battle over a dark and shrouded cavern, he didn't like not being easily capable of spotting everything he needed to.
Once Correlator bumped into the wall, Vatimus let out a chuckle and was about to speak. That was, until he heard the echo being really loud... Something was behind that wall. "I think you just found something Correlator, get to work identifying the structure. Methuselah, shine the light over that wall. We just found ourselves a room at the very least." He'd make a few motions with his hands to Meth to indicate what he was saying. After that, he looked to Hornet. "Watch out rear, I don't know what else could be down here, and I don't like that."

Methuselah did as told, shining his flame brighter and planting the flag in a spot so that the wall was clearly visible, albeit with a blue tint. However, it didn’t look like the wall was hiding anything. The light did reveal something, though. A mother twist in the cavern, a large passage leading to an open area. Methuselah growled on surprise, a quiet but firm “mmph” sound. In the chamber, Methuslah could see an unsettling number of bodies. It was unlikely that the others could see them, since it was dark and the only reason Methuslah could see was his heightened eyesight. A quick few motions to Vatimus explained the situation, and the old mech groaned as he picked up his flag, as he knew that whatever awaited them in that area would be gruesome. The sharp increase in the size of the cave explained why the echo was so loud. Methuslah was careful not to draw his weapons. He knew this was first and foremost a peace mission.

"Remember Extrius, try to turn them away peacefully first. Backdraft and I have your back."
When the Autobot group would enter the cavern, one would either need to repair the controls for the flood lights, or use the crystals to amplify Methuselah's light.

The enormous beast kept his optics on the opening, watching carefully as he dimmed his biolights to almost nothing, making sure the darkness was overwhelming. "I hear you." He hissed softly, his tail finally animating as he eased it with the scorpion's stance. A sound made him perk, a clang of sorts. They were right there. Instinctively he growled, soft but loud enough to hear within the deafening silence of the caverns.

Hornet nodded his head quickly and turned to face their rear, turning his headlights on now to increase his visibility. He didn't have them on beforehand because he was at they back of the group and it would cast shadows ahead of them. Standing at the ready, prepared to activate his weapons if need be, Hornet was. Periodically he would glance behind him to see if the others were moving forward. "What do you see? Is there anything in there?" He whispered to the group.

The smaller bot was rubbing his head, perhaps a bit fuzzy after his collision. "Found something...?" he trailed off, taking a long look up and down the wall he'd run into. "I don't know what you mean, it's just a wall."
He stepped up close to the wall. Resting an open palm on it as he pressed his head to the side, knocking once to listen to the sound. Sure enough- "hollow," he observed. "Huh. Good catch, sir."
After taking a few steps back to better observe the wall in its entirety, it didn't take long to figure out that it wasn't just a cavern wall; it didn't match any of the materials from the rest of the cavern, appearing less like a part of the Sea of Rust and more like some foreign body that had found itself stuck here. It wasn't all that far fetched of an idea: things got buried in the Sea of Rust all the time. People, too.
"I don't think it's from here," Correlator observed, "but it's definitely been here a while."
Barely catching Hornet's whispering from the cave entrance behind the rest of the group, Correlator turned around and leaned around one of the larger bots to look at him.
"You're going to have to speak up, what's-your-name!" By chance, the light from Hornet's headlights caught a glint from the sabotaged panel on the wall at the entrance. Hornet had been standing right next to it. Correlator furrowed a brow, pushing past Methuselah and Vating to get a better look. "Hey, I think there's a panel here of some kind. Good work, pal." A quick pat on the shoulder as he walked by, and he set himself to examining the condition of the interface.

Vatimus followed Correlator though the light's movement, slowly making deductions of his own. It was definitely some sort of ship, but he couldn't identify the type or design of the ship off of one wall. He simply waited for Correlator to get done with his work, while holding his Photon Rifle ready in a standby position.

Methuselah stood firm, his countenance grim as he waited. He still didn’t understand new technology, and he’s felt shamefully useless at the current moment. Despite a burning desire to, he still refrained from drawing his weapon. He couldn’t. He was here in peace. He must keep that thought at the front of his aging mind. He had to.

Backdraft stiffened as the light bounced into the ship entrance, showing Extrius silhouetted in the entryway. Yet another reason he was glad they were hidden behind the door frame.
Skyflare, however, could feel his systems prepare for battle as the intruders got closer.
And I'm the case of the power box, it would seem that the main wire had been cleanly separated by a single sniper round.

A short, soft growl came from said silhouette as four red eyes blinked to life. Extrius uncurled from his position and lashed his tail, growling all the while he locked his eyes on the bots who had entered. He wasn't going to attack at first, but if one were to pull the wrong move he wouldn't waste time in using his powerful jaws.
Synum watched from her spot, fear gripping her spark, mainly for Extrius. She knew he could have violent outbursts if given a reason. Quivering and stuck in place, her wide optics watched through the darkness down below, trying to keep her breathing quiet.

"This is- I mean, kind of disappointing. It's pretty rudimentary." The ease with which he was able to reconnect the wire and found himself staring at a fully functional console wasn't even worth him mentioning what he'd done to the others. "Got it." And then, he used the console to open a door they hadn't known was there before.

Vatimus nodded to Correlator as he approached the door. He waved everyone in after him. "Hello? Deserters? We've come to talk, one of my soldiers and I are the only two people with weapons drawn. We mean no harm and simply want to talk."

Hornet ealked backwards, following the others as they went through the secret doorway, but refused to let his guard down from behind him. He kept glancing over his shoulder so that he wouldn't back into one of his companions. "We just want to talk, that's it." He said, speaking in agreement with Vatimus. Glancing at the inside of the walls that they passed, Hornet realized that there were ancient runes carved into them, some extremely old Cybertronian language, by the looks of it. "So any of you guys know what this says?" He whispered to them, shining his headlamps closer to get a better view, all the while still watching their backs.

If it was some ancient language, Methuselah almost certainly knew what it was. He peered onto the wall, inspecting it as Vatimus questioned the deserters.

If there were any runes at all, the residents of the cavern were unaware of them.
Backdraft looked at the others in shock before whispering, "It's the fragging prime?! Why is the prime at our doorstep?!"

"We have nothing to say to you!" The beast boomed, lighting his jaws aflame to light the area around him. "Unless you can offer something worth any value to us then I suggest you leave immediately!" Extrius demanded, taking a step forward.

Correlator stepped forward. He made sure the rest of the group- minus Hornet, who was in the very back of the group- wouldn't have seen him hopping from one foot to the other to temper his nerves in preparation for what he was about to do just moments before. The little bot placed a hand on Vating's side, the highest he could reach without stretching out uncomfortably. It was a gesture as though to say 'it's alright, I've got this.' He stepped right up to Extrius. Perhaps dangerous for him with the on-edge bot, but Correlator knew the risks and was willing to take them. There was a quiet sigh under the rest of the sounds in the room, and then he began, his voice sounding the same as usual, having purged the anxiety no one knew he felt over this:
"Wow, just wow. Look at you, all big. Big, and... intimidating. Just look at you. And Primus, is that fire? Like, actual fi- is that fire coming from your mouth? Gee, that's... that's really something, big guy. Yeah."
Before Extrius, Vating, and Methuseluh, Correlator was tiny. Unimpressive, and hardly imposing. It might have even appeared brave if it weren't such an obviously foolish thing to be surrounded by people large enough to stomp you on a whim.
"Look, I don't know if you're one of the Autobots we're looking for, or if you would happen to know where they're at, but-" he peered up at Extrius through focused blue eyes, continuing. "If you were one of those Autobots, I'd tell you that the Autobots are sorry. I'd probably tell you that what happened to you was wrong, that we never should have allowed it to happen, and the person who did it was punished, and won't ever be able to do that to you again."
"I'd tell you how the Prime himself came to speak with you personally, because that's how much he thinks you're worth, how much he appreciates you... and if you were patient, and kind enough to have listened to me up to this point, I'd finish by saying no one's going to force you to come back, but- you're always welcome back at base."

There was a moment of silence after Correlator attempted to flatter the beast, only making him glare down at him unamused. But once he finished his apology, the flames died down to mere smoke and embers, enough to see a vague outline of his jaw. "I was never an Autobot. I'm not the one you ought to be apologizing to." He spoke through motionless jaws, turning to slither behind the real ex-bot that had stood beside him, gesturing that he was the one they were looking for. But the giant stayed alert, keeping his tail poised in case they decided to try anything funny.

((Not sure if I should but...))
"And how can we know what you speak is the truth?"
Skyflare limped out into the open from his place behind the doorway, his four emerald optics burning through the strange mech. He joined his brother in front of Extrius, the disc containing their new beast forms gripped right in his working hand.
