CANON CHARACTER
BASICS
BASICS
Designation : Worthless-wreck-walking-pile-of-garbage
Nicknames: Wreck-Gar, Leader
Gender : Mech
Age : Junkions struggle to keep track of time on their world, and Wreck-Gar can’t recall how long he’s been active. He’s a lot younger than his appearance would suggest, though- in human equivalent, he might be anywhere between nine or thirteen years old.
Home Planet : Junkion
Faction : Other (modified by pirates to have an Autobot energy signature)
Occupation :
Warrior/Salvage- Wreck-Gar was one of the best fighters on Junkion, which is why he was put in charge in the first place. He was supposed to keep them safe. He’s very good at taking apart the robots he defeats and turning them into useful junk for later. Now that Junkion is gone, it’s important to pick up junk everywhere he can find it.
Mechanic/Medic- It’s debatable if what Wreck-Gar does can really be called medic work, but it’s definitely mechanical work. As a Junkion, he’s a natural mechanic, and he can fix or jury-rig most machines including Cybertronians. The results aren’t pretty, but they work nine times out of ten or your money back. Sometimes forgets the details of working on other Cybertronians, like their more sensitive pain receptors.
Abilities : Junkion Reassembling Power; Junkion Endurance
Ability Description : Wreck-Gar can drag himself back together from nearly any injury that doesn’t destroy his spark or processor, or simply replace any destroyed pieces using junk from nearby or that he carries with him. Because his body is more or less a shambling patchwork of garbage and scrap, he’s a lot easier to tear apart than most beings, even if he can get right back up. His endurance simply means that his pain receptors are less responsive than most Cybertronians, making him able to shrug off damage without feeling it as much as a normal Cybertronian would; in exchange, though, he might not feel dangerous injuries or severely underestimate their significance.
APPEARANCE
Optic ( Eye ) Color : Light Blue
Primary Paint Color : Orange
Secondary Paint Color : Black/grey
Third Color : Red
Height: 19 ft
Features:
- Garbage truck bed, turns into something akin to a backpack in robot mode- he uses it to carry all of his junk.
- Odd helmet that resembles an old TV set, including antenna and rotating dials. His volume dial looks like it’s stuck all the way up.
- Facial markings- somewhat resembling facial hair, Wreck-Gar has deep black marks decorating his face. They’re actually drawn on in oil. Maybe they’re symbolic?
- Oil and old injuries and generally, being made of garbage, can make Wreck-Gar a less than appealing sight or smell. He doesn't seem to notice or care, unless it's pointed out.
Alternative Mode:
- His altmode is a garbage truck.
- Mostly resembles Animated Wreck-Gar's altmode.
- Many parts have been replaced or lost, though, and he generally has a very broken-down, rusted appearance.
ARMOR AND WEAPONRY
Armor
Armor Description: Garbage, junk, scrap. Wreck-Gar’s armor barely qualifies as armor. It might not be- the Junkion could just be so roughly built, he has all the kibble and metal built in without any protoform underneath. Largely orange, grey, and red plating. Very thin and easy to break apart, with two exceptions.
- Surprisingly sturdy front bumper, which turns into armor over his chest. This is the second-toughest piece of armor he has, presumably to protect his spark chamber. It has no opening mechanism, so if someone wanted to get to his spark, they would need to pry the bumper off completely.
- Backpack- one of his best assets as always, the thick metal and sturdy build of this trash compartment is his best defense, and if needed he can hide under it almost like a turtle shell.
Weaponry
Primary Weapon : Sonic-EMP Blaster
Description: A cobbled-together weapon meant to disable soon-to-be spare parts. It can’t knock out a bot, but it can severely disorient a group long enough for attackers to move in. Limited range.
Secondary Weapon : Steel Net
Description: A heavy metal net to capture junk on the run; like his Blaster, he has it to make junking ‘bots an easier task. He has two nets, and needs to pick up and reload one to fire more than that. If one of them is destroyed, he’ll need some time to rebuild it.
Other Weapons :
N/A
Gadgets :
Blow Torch- meant for taking apart fiddly pieces of scrap his chainsaws can’t take care of, and putting junk together into new and improved junk. After throwing himself together from injuries, he uses this to weld his new limbs on more solidly, for however little it helps.
Melee : Thermo Energon Chainsaws
Melee Weapon Description: His favorite weapon, and his luckiest find. These dual energy chainsaws can be found tucked away in his backpack, or in his servos ready to tear through bots with wild abandon, easily able to saw through most metals with little difficulty. They’re even his favorite color- bright light blue, the same as his eyes.
TECH SPECS
Note: This is based off a 1 to 10 scale. One is the lowest, then is the highest.
LIMITED TO 60 POINTS TOTAL.
Strength : 8Wreck-Gar is strong enough to move most junk and carry heavy loads without any trouble. Without breaking them into smaller pieces, though, he isn’t able to move things like ships and buildings without a fair bit of trouble. He could push around a decently-sized ship, but he would rather not.
Intelligence : 3
Wreck-Gar’s intelligence is… well, with being raised on Junkion his whole life… the important thing is he tries. There are some things he’s rather smart about, such as mechanical work, but he’s so scatterbrained and incomprehensible it doesn’t come across well. Part of the problem might be his age.
Dexterity : 6
Wreck-Gar is surprisingly good with his hands, and is used to navigating torn and broken landscapes that would leave most bots tripping and stumbling like newsparks. He can’t do any fancy tricks, but he doesn’t need to.
Speed : 3
Wreck-Gar’s garbage truck altmode has a very low top speed, and he generally takes his time getting around. He’s good at navigating unstable ground and spotting potential hazard spots at his speeds, but safe and wide open spaces leave him as an annoying roadblock.
Endurance : 10
Wreck-Gar is a Junkion, and as such he can take an excessive beating and keep getting up. He can repair extreme damage to himself on the fly with scrap and garbage, and go for solar cycles without needing to refuel.
Firepower : 1
Wreck-Gar’s projectile weapons are all non-damaging, and so in a fight they’re useless for more than temporarily disabling enemies.
Accuracy : 3
Wreck-Gar’s aim is passable at best, really, and he prefers to get up close even when using projectile weapons. He has trouble hitting moving targets especially.
Melee : 8
Wreck-Gar is good with melee combat, but in technique he’s severely lacking. His strategy consists of leaping at his enemies and cutting them apart until they stop moving, and he makes up for the lack of finesse with his overwhelming endurance letting him fight on longer than his enemies can fight back.
Tech Skill : 8
Wreck-Gar is a good mechanic and great with turning broken down junk into surprisingly functional machinery. Complicated programming is something he would have trouble with, though, and his building is objectively messy and confusing to anyone with proper training, even if it technically works. Sometimes ends up with unexpected results.
OTHER
Personality :
Wreck-Gar is a scatterbrained mess of a robot. He’s often unfocused, rambling, and single-minded about the conversion of junk into new life. Like many Junkions, he’s incredibly resilient and tough, and stubborn to an obnoxious degree when pushed. He made a surprisingly good leader of the Junkions, having been on their world his entire life, but away from his home he’s a lot more out of his depth. He is a little bit of a people-pleaser, and he tries his best to take care of people who help him in turn. On the opposite end of things, though, someone who betrays his trust will often be on the receiving end of violent retribution as punishment.
Now that Junkion is gone and his people are gone and he’s all alone, he’s never been more confused or adrift about his purpose. He can’t be the leader of the Junkions- so what is he? It isn’t hard to make him latch onto new concepts of who he should be, making him change directions at the drop of a hat.
In short, Wreck-Gar is sweet, naive, and a little easy to manipulate, but he has a ferocious temper and no qualms about using lethal force. He’s a little childish and easily distracted at times.
Courage:
8
Wreck-Gar is confident against small groups of robots on his own. When enemies start growing into double digits, he’ll still fight, but he would prefer backup. If he’s much further outnumbered, or if he’s against a group that’s proven to be able to outmatch him, he would rather retreat.
Charismaa :
5
Wreck-Gar is nice and eager to please, and he’s spent nearly his entire life as a leader, but his charisma is crippled by being difficult for non-Junkions to follow or understand.
History :
Wreck-Gar was one of a handful of survivors of a crash on Junkion stellar cycles ago, though he doesn’t recall any of it. Though his memories from that far back are vague, he was likely a sparkling at the time, and to him his entire life has been spent on Junkion. Most of his knowledge of the greater universe beyond their planet, including the universal greeting, is from other crash survivors who became Junkions. He was especially good at helping survivors adjust to living on his homeworld, and dispatching any more aggressive visitors, and so he ended up being made leader of the Junkions.
When Autobots arrived on Junkion, they were able to establish an alliance after a rough start, and Wreck-Gar ended up with a strong respect for Optimus Prime especially. He was happy to assist the visitors, but unfortunately with the Autobots came Decepticons, and with all of the Cybertronians came pirates and war and disaster. Junkion was nearly destroyed, Wreck-Gar was betrayed, and a hoard of his Junkions- himself included- were briefly captured and enslaved by pirates. Eventually, Wreck-Gar was able to hijack the space bridge the pirates had him build to try and take himself back home. For whatever reason though- something went wrong on Junkion, or the bridge malfunctioned and he never arrived- he’s now adrift, unable to return to his only home and overwhelmed by a universe he only knows from broken stories.
Family :
Wreck-Gar might have had a family on the ship he crashed in, but they likely died in the crash and were left long-forgotten. Wreck-Gar considers his Junkions family, especially Detritus.
Strengths :
-Durable and resourceful; what they didn’t have on Junkion, they would learn to improvise, and on Junkion they had nothing.
-Kind, and generally does his best to be helpful.
-Tough. He’s a scrappy kid and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. Especially true when he has something he wants to protect.
-A good singer… is that actually a strength? Well, his voice is very nice, even if nothing he says with it is useful.
Weaknesses :
-Naive, trusting, and… honestly, a little stupid. He barely knows anything about the universe beyond Junkion.
-Easy to manipulate, and currently pinballing between goals and motivation with only minor prompting.
-Scatterbrained and difficult to understand in the best of moments, even with how much he’s been working to improve his coherence recently.
-Easily broken apart, and sometimes overestimates just how much he can handle in a fight, leading to him being overpowered and disabled.
SAMPLE RP
Wreck-Gar sat surrounded by the scrap from his latest encounter, a blowtorch in one hand and another bot's head in the other, their metal left a dull grey in the wake of going offline.
"Real nice junk," Wreck-Gar told the head happily, finally popping open the back of the head, shoving in a hand and pulling out a fistful of wiring and processor. "Thanks for it! What a great deal! Would've liked that ship too, great ship, bet you had a lot of good scrap on there!"
Wreck-Gar paused in his fiddling, sticking his glossa out and tilting the open head around in the light. After a moment of consideration, he reached over to the bot's arm sitting to his side, plucking off their limp servos and carefully welding them inside. "Saw that big screen you got in there before they left," Wreck-Gar confessed, turning the head around and polishing the flat, faceless screen. "Reminded me of you. Liked it a little more than you. You're gonna be just as good though!"
Wreck-Gar hummed happily, trial and error with the bot’s remains taking him well into the dark parts of the solar cycle. He didn’t mind the time- there was no one to make him recharge, and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to figure out their talking screen right away, or maybe even ever. It was fun to try anyways, and he was determined to junk the bot into something good sooner or later.
If he got it right this time, though, maybe he could get in touch with Junkion. That would be nice.
