BASICS
Designation : Scatterbolt
Nicknames: S.C.
Gender :Femme
Faction : Autobot
Occupation : Communications (primary function) Sniper (battle function)
Personality :
Scatterbolt is a bit of a mess since her arrival in this star system. She is someone use to taking orders and following protocol. While she does appreciate the organization present, it's still a bit looser than she was used to back on Cybertron. Mentally nor physically was she ever meant for battle, so being so close to the enemy at all times is something she'll probably never feel comfortable with, contributing more to her anxiety. However she finds comfort and safety in numbers and is happiest when surrounded by and working with other Autobots. She is not one to shy away from a conversation and is willing to try and strike one up with nearly anyone. She sees both trust and loyalty as prudent for the function of a group, so she make a personal effort to espouse both.
However you cannot get along with everyone, and specifically there are a variety of pet peeves that can get to her. Scatterbolt can not stand rule breakers and those with no respect for authority. Rule benders and the occasional complaint are okay by her standards, but she will openly express her objection. Messes annoy her in general, so she tends to avoid slobs or those who don't care for personal maintenance. She also has a slight aversion to sarcasm, especially when it is not appropriate or not clear that they were being sarcastic.
Though she is obsessed with work, she has a variety of other hobbies that she makes time for. As mentioned, being around a mess makes her very uncomfortable, so cleaning is both a productive and somewhat relaxing occupation of time. Other than that she likes to hang around others and socialize. She tries her best to keep up on current events and a smattering of trivia facts which she could use as conversation pieces or just to put in her well-informed two cents. She is moderately intelligent but prefers to give advice and suggestions rather to encourage conversation rather than telling other they are flat out wrong. She also can be found practicing her rifle aim, as she enjoys putting in the extra time and effort to hone her skill.
Above all else, S.C. admires and strives toward perfection. Whether it be mastering her specific skills, performing her duties to the best of her ability, making sure both her and her work station are neat and professional, or caring for a colleagues physical and mental well being. She holds others to this standard of professionalism and perfection, though she is harsher with herself than on anyone else. See knows of her own physical and mental limitations and often exceeds them in striving for excellence. She will never complain about a workload or injury and most often brush it off, even if it is to her own detriment.

Often she will believe these dreams to be real events even after breaking out of the trance. She can break herself out of a trance as long as she knows that she is in one, but like previously stated her connection to reality can be lost the longer and deeper into the trance she goes.
OTHER
History:
The strangest part of Scatterbolt's history is exactly how she got to Earth:
She found herself on Mars of all places in the abandoned wreckage of a small crashed ship. No a clue how she got there and why she wasn't back on Cybertron hacking into Decepticon communications. However her advanced sensors picked up radio signals from Earth, some Cybertronian while others from the planet's native humans. So in an effort to reunite with Autobot forces she went to work reassembling the ship. It took a while, about 5 earth years to be exact, but S.C. was persistent. In the meantime, for recreation, she practiced her sharp-shooting skills using an old rifle she found on the ship. She was quite proficient with it but the time she finally was able to get ship flightworthy. Scatterbolt decide the most efficient course of action would be to basically turn the ship into a bullet and shoot it towards Earth. It was a short and painful trip. The ship was losing pieces from the moment it took off. The crudely re-assembled flight cabin could barely hold back the vacuum of space. Finally when it slammed into Earth's atmosphere the heat nearly tore it to pieces. Then, finally, splashdown! Scatterbolt had by coincidence landed off the coast of Oregon, America. The wreckage sank fast, so did she. But some combination of flailing managed to get her to the coast. Finally, Earth, she was sure to find the others now...somehow.
Strengths :
- Scatterbolt's understanding of communication technology. Not only is she well acquainted with the protocols and etiquette of Cybertronian communication networks, she also made it a point to learn everything she could about the associated technology. She can, with effort, boost communication devices to cover longer distances, hack into digital communications networks, jam radio frequencies, and so on. If there is something she doesn't know how to do off the top of her head it's likely with some time a research she could figure it out.
- Her skills with a rifle. While she was stranded on Mars, Scatterbolt had nothing to do but alternate between fixing the ship and practicing her aim. even to this day it is one of her favorite pass times. Although she does not actively seek out a battle, if called upon she could help a team deal out significant damage from afar.
- Her loyalty and unwavering support for the Autobot cause. S.C. takes great pride in being an Autobot, and is willing to do almost anything to support the cause. In any decision, the lives of her comrades come first. Personal differences are always put aside for the good of the group.
Weaknesses :
- Lack of coordination. Although she can handle her rifle well, melee weapons are a different story. To the point where it is advisable that she not hold any sharp object of any kind. She dreads being in vehicle mode because of her total lack of coordination makes driving a nightmare, especially on busy streets. She has just enough coordination to walk into a room without tripping over her own feet or hitting every single obstacle on her way.
- Her pet peeves are nearly unconquerable. Unless in is very important to the Autobot cause, there are certain things she will not put up with. S.C. has to work in a messy workplace? Forget it! She'll spend time cleaning until it is spotless before she attempts to get anything done. You want to transmit a very important but personal message? If you're on her bad side, it's as good as lost. She will not tolerate conditions she finds unacceptable nor interact with any bot she has issue with beyond the most basic professional and civil discourse unless it is absolutely imperative.
- Charisma black hole. Killjoy, buzzkill, whatever name you find appropriate. Sure out of work hours she can be social and friendly, one might say a bit gregarious. By she takes her assignments very seriously. When she is like this her mere presence in the room is likely to drain any life out of it. This is also when she is most irritable, though she manages to keep the signs her frustration to passive-aggressive remarks or quiet glares.
SAMPLE RP
Here it was, the blue planet. Although it appeared now it was only blue because it was covered in liquid water. Scatterbolt crawled out onto the dry land, soaked in the saline solution. But she had made it.
Flat on her back, Scatterbolt looks upward. The sky is a gradient of deep purple fading into blue, yellow, and then orange at the edge of the sky. Green spears, some kind of organic lifeform, appear to make an attempt to stab into the sky. And in the purple void specks of light from distant stars struggle to pierce the thick atmosphere. It was different, somewhat beautiful.
But there was no time for this now. The first thing she has to do is find the others. She attempts to send out a signal, but her communication enhancers were damaged by re-entry. The wind blows, and S.C. finds herself shivering. The need to find shelter is apparent to her. She shuffles through the forest, it is quite unpleasant. Muck builds up underneath her treads and occasionally a small ledge or bump causes her to fall face first into a puddle or patch of mud.
“Great,” she thought, taking a seat on a rock formation to scrape the mud off of her treads, “And I was just starting to like this planet.”
She isn’t getting anywhere, so she sits and works through what she is going to do. Looking up at the sky, she sees it growing darker, and she wishes that she could just get in contact with the others so they could tell her where they are or what she should do. She tries again to scan for something, but her sensor is just too damaged. Then to her surprise, she picks up something, a faint frequency, weak and primitive. She again finds herself trudging through the mud, but this time with a new sense of purpose.
“Where is it coming from?” she wonders out loud. But a signal is a signal, and I is the only thing giving her any sense of direction.
She finds the source. The woods stop abruptly at a roadway, and on the other side is some sort of broadcasting tower. It is not Autobot or even Cybertronian as far as S.C. can tell. But perhaps she could use it to search for the others as long as her own sensors are damaged. Also across the roadway is a large building. Big enough as shelter and maybe for a temporary base of operations. It's getting dark, it will have to do for now.
In complete darkness, S.C. crosses the roadway and pulls open the buildings large, rusted metal door.
“What a mess.” she groans to herself, upon seeing the inside.
First thing’s first, this place needs to be in a more presentable condition. As she cleans, Scatterbolt finds a decent amount of primitive tools and spare parts. Though they are not the most sophisticated supplies she could be dealing with, they will do for now.
It is now sunrise. S.C.’s temporary arrangements are in order, she has managed to figure out how the broadcast tower functions and send out a distress call, and overall things have turned out well.
She sits admiring the sunrise and with a sigh reassures herself
“I could get use to this. All I have to do is find the others, and everything will be fine.”
