In the Time Before the Beginning
There was Primus
There was Unicron
And
There was a Child
Two Gods, locked in eternal combat; both sides gaining the upper hand before losing it a thousand times over. On one side, the God of Life, Creation. The other, The Chaos Bringer. Their struggle ravaged the landscape of Cybertron, shaping it into the planet many called home before another Great Struggled rendered it lifeless. But even during this time of strife, endless battle and the fate of Cybertron hanging in the balance, Life found a way.
------------------------------------
Light flooded into its optics, the overwhelming display forcing the creature to shield its soft features with anything it could find. Its preys were answered, two small, crude objects threw themselves up in defense to their master, shielding its new eyes to the bright light shining down upon it. Slowly, the being's simple little optics sharpened, allowing picture, colour and sight to enter its world as it looked upon the things in front of it. There were... Hands... A voice called out, the small creature's mind somehow understanding the alien word. Slowly turning over its... Hands, with a low whirl of a rotor, the new born looked at its hands and fingers, the word appearing in its mind just as clearly as the image in front of it. Sitting up, an action it did not yet know how to do, the soft creature turned its curious gaze down to the rest of its body....
The things it saw were... Smooth, its mind lighting up as the new word joined its growing collection. Yes, the things it saw below it were smooth! Lined with colourful little lines that brought a sense of unknown to the creature, a happy feeling it concluded. Wanting to see more, experience more, it sharply turned its vision from left to right and scoured over the details presemt. There was... Lots of darker colours, browns it felt, and greys. Placing its simple servos on the browns and greys, its body swelled with alarm as the colours moved, sliding away to reveal more colourful lines. Leaning forward, the being found the act of standing surprisingly simple, if a little jolting to move so quickly. This was... This was good! The small being declared inwardly, its slender frame bouncing with joy as it spun around quickly to look at the spot it had previously been sat in. The scene filled it with a sense of... Warmth, comfort even. There was specs of blue, inamongst more greys, blacks and browns. These were boring colours, nothing exciting!
Turning swiftly, the happy little thing brought its gaze spinning around to look at the great expanse before it. The short lived being's optics widened in joy at all the colour it saw! Blues, reds, silvers and gold! They covered the land like someone had thrown paint over a plank canvas! "This was more like it!" A hand slapped over its newly formed intake, quelling the sudden voice which had erupted out of the creature's body as it looked on, dumbstruck by the new ability. Flicking its bright gaze down to the servo clasped around its mouth, it slowly brought the while digits away and attempted the ability again. "That's...?" The creature squealed, another new ability, as it replicated the word, joy once again overtaking its mind as it tried it again. "That's! That's! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's! Ahahahah!" It laughed loudly, the bouncing notes echoing out into the otherwise silent landscape as their cause jumped up and down in place, shouting again and again with glee as it broke in the new vocal cords.

This, a happy little creature born on the plains of Cybertron, was once just that. A Child, innocent and naive....
This was Cataclysm's beginnings, its birth, and the story had yet to truly be told....
