Ability Description : Mnemosurgery is a technique by which one Transformer can enter the mind of another, viewing the subject's memories and giving the mnemosurgeon the ability to "edit" said memories, even to the point where the subject's personality is completely rewritten. The procedure is accomplished via spikes extending from the mnemosurgeon's fingers, which are typically inserted into the subject's neck. The surgical scars fortunately only show up under ultraviolet light. Mnemosurgery can sometimes lead to surgeons experiencing flashbacks—reliving inherited memories from the minds they've worked on.

OTHER
Personality :
Virtuoso likes transparency... in others. As far as he goes, though, there couldn't be a harder book to read. His mnemosurgery is shared strictly with close and trusted individuals who are few and far between, and he is accustomed to using circuit boosters on any unsavory characters whenever it suits him to remain anonymous or to cover over an injection without the subject knowing about it. Ever appreciative of the irony of his profession, he invades other peoples' privacy through injection, but values his own more than anything else. His loyalty is often wavering; little can keep him tied down to one spot, as he forms weak personal connections. Virtuoso is often known as little more than a face in the crowd, and that's just how he likes to keep things.
Courage : 7
On a 1-10 numeric scale.
He's a brave mech, but knows when enough is enough and its time to back out before things get messy.
Charisma : 5
On a 1-10 numeric scale.
While he might have the most magnetizing of personalities, his presence is noticeable just as much for the good as it is the bad. Either you love him, or you hate him, and the in betweens could probably care less.
History :
An Autobot M.T.O. (Made To Order [soldier]) created during the Astral Plains Occupation, a far-reaching interstellar offensive between the two warring factions during the Surge. After surviving his first offensive, however, he was given a change of occupation and began training as a mnemosurgeon.
Most of the events of his life proceeding his adoption of the mnemosurgery practice are shrouded in mystery. This may or may not be because he injected himself to erase all of his early life's memories.
Family :
none
Strengths :
-Skilled with subterfuge (lies) and hiding the truth, even going so far as to inject in order to hide the truth from himself to make himself believe his own lies.
-A highly practiced mnemosurgeon. He can inject in the same patients repeatedly without their noticing, given he isn't caught mid-injection by others.
-Due to his injections on himself, he has little- if any- memories of his own past, meaning that were he to be injected, the mnemosurgeon performing it would have very little information to work with beyond recent events.
-Having no solid personal relations with anyone to keep him tied down to a specific place or group, his ability to adapt is only increased, and his survival skills have thus improved because of his constant transitional status.
Weaknesses :
-Addicted to injection: without patients to inject, he resorts to performing injections on himself, which can result in unreliable memory.
-Relies heavily upon the secrecy of his status as a practicing mnemosurgeon. Once discovered, he can no longer perform the high number of injections he's used to, and can begin to suffer withdraws from his injecting addiction.
-Not the most skilled fighter, and can be easily overtaken by a skilled warrior.
-Leaving the Autobots has made him somewhat reclusive, and he has few allies. If he were to try, it is possible he could trick members of his old faction into accepting him back into the fold without their knowing he ever left, but he's yet to make such an attempt.
SAMPLE RP
Note that a piece of your history, your journey to Earth for example, could be used.
His first injection would have been his last, had it not been for a timely extraction by his partner. The needles were ripped out violently at an awkward angle, snapping two in half and leaving them embedded in the poor patient's neck. The other three made long, shallow scratches down the side of their neck. He staggered backward, left hand raising sharply to press at his forehelm as he shrieked in pain. His vocalizer blew from rising too many pitches too quickly. Still, he was doing better than the Cybertronian on the table. They were dead the moment Virtuoso's needles left their neck. Too weak to survive a seemingly simple operation, though they might have fared better had they been given proper repairs before the procedure. He and his partner weren't practicing within the boundaries the Autobots set for such procedures. This was off the books.Well, it hadn't been his first injection. Only his first with actual finger-needles. He'd just graduated from the usual, far more blunt and indelicate trainee finger-drills. Now his helm was pounding, his fingers throbbing with pain. Energon dripped from his fingertips. The stress of yanking the finger-needles free had dislodged them somewhat, tearing gashes into his fingertips. Nothing terrible. Just painful more than anything.
"You were experiencing the subject's trauma," his partner said. He turned quickly, shooting a look of knives and daggers at them.
"You knew," he responded. They simply shrugged. Virtuoso grew hot with anger, and the pounding in his helm grew more intense. "You knew, and you didn't tell me? You withheld important information about the operation. I could have died." Another shrug prompted him to take a wobbly, mildly intimidating step forward.
"Could have, but you didn't," they stated flatly. "It was a test. I wanted to see if you'd pass, and you did." They were as cold and detached as one could expect from a person who'd just risked a friend's life for no reason at all. Virtuoso stopped. They were right, and he had no room to complain. If he'd been unwilling to take the risks of his first serious injection, he would have questioned why they'd set it up in this private setting, away from the rest of the Autobots, and without command's sanction for the operation. He accepted the truth of his situation. After all, he was alive. He'd survived, even through the patient's trauma- thanks to his partner's timely extraction from the operation. A part of him wondered how long he would have lasted without it. How long he could have held on before the trauma got to him. Now, he'd never find out. Then, a snicker of satisfaction from his partner snapped him out of his own thoughts and back to reality.
"... I almost died," he mused quieter. His partner laughed.
"Yeah, and how'd it feel?" It took a moment. Then two. Virtuoso considered it for a good ten nano-kliks before he'd come up with the answer.
"It felt... exhilarating."
