BASICS
Designation : Scatter
Nicknames: Twitchy
Gender : Mech
Faction : Neutral
Occupation : Experimental Weapons Designer/Engineer (He finds interesting ways to kill Cybertronians)
Personality :
Scatter is over-cautious, slow to trust and extremely secretive.
He's very nervous around others, although the degree of his anxiety depends on the size, strength and ferocity of those he's speaking with. He gets rather caught up in his work, and excited when meeting someone else interested in his line of work. However, he is rather abrasive with those he views as uninterested in his work, and has little time for those who do not interest his intellect. Deep down, he is lonely and desires companionship - be it romantic or platonic - and before the war spent his free time reading steamy courtship stories. Most of his behaviour stems from a fear of ridicule, which he suffered during his study in Iacon University.
APPEARANCE
Optic ( Eye ) Color : Orange
Primary Paint Color : White
Secondary Paint Color : Grey
Height : 25ft
Features:
- Scatter has a very lithe body (lither than my picture actually portrays him, since I'm kinda bad at drawing Prime styled Cybertronians right now) with a small layer of armor. While this makes him more agile than most, he is also very fragile.
- His armor is covered in burns, bullet dents and scars; working around dangerous equipment has left him with a number of injuries.
- His hands are normally rather small and able to do delicate maneuvers, but (as shown in the picture) he has 'gloves' that he uses for the more unstable and dangerous experiments.
Alternative Mode:
Equipment and Abilities
Weaponry :
- Ion Dagger : A small blade that Scatter used to handle more... 'messy' experiments, mainly consisting of performing autopsies on the test subjects he experimented on/killed by his weapons on the field. It's good for slicing up living Cybertronians too.
- Subsonic Repeater : A light weapon used by the more agile footsoldiers in the war. A relic that Scatter kept from his short tenure as a Seeker before moving to one of the research and development teams in Kaon, then finally defecting and becoming a wartime merchant. It requires a lot of maintanence to keep working, and if he were more interested in conflict he might actually bother to properly repair it.
He also has a range of experimental weapons (which may or may not explode), finished projects being;
- Corrosive Cannon : Shoots a globule of acidic goop. What's actually in the goop depends on what chemicals he had on hand - however, the volume of acid is rather large and usually results in severe injuries on a hit, if not deactivation. The downside is that due to the weight of the liquid it's slow to fire, and a direct hit is needed for it to be fully potent (a small splash does practically nothing). The only proper ballistic-style weapon that (usually) doesn't blow up in his face.
- V34.CYBR Corrupt@r : An updated version of the classic "brainwashing" weapon; instead of causing the subject to switch sides, it causes their processor units to slowly degrade... Well, that's the intention, but it seems to just cause their anger subroutines to go into overdrive - in a process similar to Grimlock's rage mode, they gain a boost to their strength, begin to ignore pain, and go into a frenzy, attacking anyone nearby.
However, those nearby usually include Scatter, so he rarely uses it. (It also requires a helmshot in order for the chip to be able to reach the processors before being shut out by Intrusion Countermeasures within the target.) - Electro Railgun : Another update to a classic - the Electro Blaster + Remote Explosives + Increased Speed = A deadly project. It's way too heavy for him to use though, and the explosives are unstable (he's still working on that), meaning it's also never been used, and usually just stays in his base of operations.
- Optical Enhancement : Similar to a human pair of spectacles mixed with all sorts of technological upgrades; Infrared, Night Vision, and Optical Zoom to a mollecular level (although the more extreme levels are more designed for experimentation rather than combat).
- Grenade Belt : Scatter has spent a long time working on experimental grenades, including..;
- Corrosive Grenade : He often uses these when he doesn't have the Corrosive Cannon on hand. The acid's potency and corrosiveness depend on the chemicals he has access to, but due to the smaller volume of acidic liquid they're usually not deadly, but leave nasty burns.
- Incendary Grenade : FIIIIRE. Due to basically being the Cybertronian equivalent of a human frag grenade, these can kill if you're close enough, although a bot with high endurance could probably survive a blast, albeit with injury.
- Overcharge Grenade : A jolt of energy that causes Energon to become explosive - sticks to the target via spikes that attempt to pierce the armor. Only works on targets with thinner armor as the spikes cannot pierce any heavy armor or any reinforced armor.
- Scraplet Grenade : Named after the deadly pests, this grenade is filled with small, parasitic creatures that devour Cybertronians leaving nothing but an empty husk of armor behind (similar to the Scraplets found in previous generation continuities of Transformers). Extreme cold, extreme heat and water disable a swarm rather easily. When detonated, the swarm will attack anyone within a 10ft radius of the grenade, and travel to anyone who touches the current target while they are being devoured (after devouring, they again have a radius of 10ft, this time from the corpse). Due to the danger of a weapon like this, Scatter only has 2, which he keeps sealed away.
Note: All grenades have a timer of 5 seconds and make a loud beeping noise. This is mainly so Scatter can take cover, but it also gives the enemy a chance to take cover too. - Tool Kit : He always keeps his tools on him, including his chemistry set.
OTHER
History:
Scatter was originally a student at Iacon U, having grown up in the citystate since birth. However, his interest in weaponry before the war made him a target of ridicule to others; many of these 'peers' would go on to support the Primes once Megatronus rose to power in Kaon. As such, he joined the Decepticons out of spite for his Autobot classmates. At first, he was a Seeker, serving for a small time in the aerial unit. However, a commanding officer noticed the creative, experimental streak in his spark, and transferred him to a research lab in Kaon. As the war raged on, Scatter found that the Decepticons were even more harsh on him and his work ("Why make new ways to kill things when we already have perfectly good guns?") than the kids at the university, not to mention a realization that he disagreed with the fundamentals of their ideology; the Decepticons desired perfect order through subjugation, whereas Scatter believed in personal freedom.
So, sneaking out of Kaon, he began to make his way towards Iacon, in order to defect back to the Autobot cause and possibly share some of the secret designs he'd been working on. Instead, he was stopped by a group of enterprising bots - They had heard of his skill with developing weaponry, and planned to use his skill to make a profit off the conflict. They gave him freedom to work on whatever he wanted, but once again found himself in a hostile environment, and it wasn't long before both Autobots and Decepticons were chasing after the group. Scatter defected once again, choosing to leave the conflict behind in it's entirety. As the end of Cybertron grew closer, he left once Trypticon had been taken out of the sky, hoping to find a place where he'd be able to work and be treated with some respect.
Strengths :
- Scatter has a large intellect when it comes to making things die/explode/melt, and can use this special knowledge on the fly. For example, he'd know exactly when a gun would fire a bullet, and use that knowledge to know when to dodge (the downside being that he's nowhere near fast enough to actually dodge it once it had fired).
- He is rather nimble, and his twitchy-ness makes it hard for others to hit him in melee combat.
- Caution is the name of the game; he (if the option is there) will think before acting. (This has the adverse effect of making others annoyed at his inaction)
Weaknesses :
- Do not get him to do diplomacy, as he is rather abrasive and finds it difficult to talk to anyone he hasn't known for a while.
- He is pretty cowardly, and needs to be pushed in order to do anything brave.
- His desire for companionship makes him susceptible to being seduced, and once seduced he will spill any information others want from him.

This was a very interesting reading; it looked like there was a nearby planet with Energon. A very large amount of Energon, more than the average 'Energon Rich' planet had. As Scatter's ship drew closer to the blue planet, the mech began to go over the possibilities as to this phenomenon, chattering to himself quietly.
Scatter: A civilization using Energon as a fuel? No, atmosphere indicated carbon fuel... open Energon reservoirs? No, no, not enough trace energy surrounding the planet. No indication that Energon-based beings are native to the planet... one conclusion...
It was then that he came to the realization that there were other Cybertronians on the planet - in fact, it seemed that there were Cybertronians all over the planet. He began to get a excited, digits tapping away at the controls of his ship. Course shifted, and preparing for entry (and impact), a small grin formed on Scatter's face. After eons of drifting, he might have finally found something interesting to do.
