The galaxy was a bustling place full of various creatures very different from the ones on Earth however, the thing unchanged was the amount of aft-holes it contained. That's what a certain blue colored Cybertronian was thinking as he sat on a bar stool in some pub outside the Andromeda Galaxy. The pub was inside of Kakaro Station, a large spire shaped refueling station. The mech had stopped here about a month after his departure from Earth. Orro, his contractor, had failed to properly refuel his ship. The mech couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more going on.
One feeling he absolutely couldn't shake was the one of annoyance he was getting from two patrons sitting next to him. One was a blue colored cyborg who was about the mech's height and the other was a green ogre looking creature who perhaps reached his shoulder. They were both harassing the barmaid in vulgar ways. While Riptide was a flirter, he never made his victim's uncomfortable. He tried to drink his Engex in peace but when he saw the barmaid turn around and the cyborg try to grab her in a very no-no place, the mech stepped in. Riptide grabbed the cyborg's metal arm and slung him off the stool. Enough is enough! The poor woman is obviously fed up with you two. Almost as much as I am! Now get out of here while you've still got some self-respect eh?" He said with a glare in his seablue optics.
The cyborg was at first shocked before he chuckled and stood, brushing off his organic torso. "Nah nah punk you listen here! I've been out all day working my ass off for the Galactic Council's delivery system and all I want is a beer and some booty! So get the hell outta my way you overloaded piece of junk! Nobody likes your kind anyways! With a self-satisfied smirk the cyborg shoved past Riptide and reached over the bar. He grabbed the maid around the waist and pulled her in and puckered his lips. The maid screeched and slugged him across the organic side of his face. The cyborg growled and let go of her and was about to reach for her again when this time Riptide slugged him across the metal side of his face. With a heavy clang the cyborg flew over a table and slid across the floor. Patrons moved away as he stood, a fresh dent in his metal face. Riptide smirked and crossed his arms while the cyborg's ogre buddy went to his friend's side. Ya got a little something on your face friend. Head on over to the shipyard and one of the boys over there will hammer it right out of ya! Might make you less ugly... The ogre and cyborg growled at the same time and charged Riptide.
The ogre threw his fist towards Rip's chestplate. Riptide caught it and grabbed onto his arm before picking him up and swinging him through the air. He used the screaming ogre to smack his cyborg friend and send him flying. Thanks for the dance... Riptide said as he continued to swing around the ogre. But I've gotta get moving! Work on your moves for next time okay? With a wicked smirk and a cocky glint in his optics Riptide slammed the ogre down on a table. The ogre crushed the table and lay on the ground groaning. The cyborg lay on the floor with some sparks flying out of his head. Riptide looked over at the formerly harassed barmaid and mock saluted her. Does this cover my bill? He said as he watched her nod. Thanks cutie, let me know if these two cause your pretty face anymore harm okay? She blushed as Riptide grabbed his unfinished Engex off the bar and walked out with some swagger in his step. It was time for his meeting anyways...
The Wavelength
A grin spread across Riptide's face as he sat down in the captain's chair of his ship. Even though it had been a solid month since he had boarded it again the feeling of adventure still hadn't gone away. The thought of Earth and the war there was more or less a distant memory now. Riptide's grin was replaced with a frown however as he noticed how empty the ship was. Orro had supplied Riptide with a crew of mercenaries he had hired to help the mech. They were of the same organic race and were about the height of a small transformer. They wore power-suits though that greatly boosted their abilities.
Riptide had sent them out and given them some free time on the station. Most of them had went to find upgrades for their suits while the others had gone to the main-hangar to look at the ships. However it was ten minutes after the agreed regrouping time and in the short time Rip had known the mercs he knew they were very punctual. Riptide punched in the merc captain's comm code into the transmitter and waited for the captain to pick up. While he waited Riptide reflected on his mission.
The mech had met with Orro a few days after he had entered space. They met on an asteroid in deep space and Orro gave him his crew and a data-pad full of information on his target, the Silver Starz. They were an up and coming gang who had been stealing Orro's weapons. No doubt to sell them at a lower cost or to bolster their forces. Whatever reason it was didn't concern Riptide. He was just out here to capture their leader and bring him back to Orro. After that he got paid and then... what?
Riptide sat forward in the chair and rested his cheek on his fist. What would he do after he completed this job? He hadn't thought about that. Go back to Earth? No, never again. He felt no more attraction to that place of war. In a way he was disgusted with the acts of his species. No wonder the Galactic Council looked down upon Cybertronians. They had no reason to believe that they were no more than sentient war machines. Riptide had been hoping that since the war was mostly isolated now the prejudice would die down yet for some reason it hadn't. ~Perhaps I'll go about rebuilding the Cybertronian race's reputation in the galaxy? After the payment I'm getting for this job I'll certainly have enough to donate to charity. Yeah, maybe that's what I'll do...~
Riptide came out of his thoughts long enough to notice that the captain still hadn't answered. A concerned look came over his brow before a noise outside in the hangar caught his fancy. He looked out the cockpit's viewport and saw the cyborg from earlier shoving aside a mechanic. Riptide frowned and sighed as he stood and prepared to teach the 'borg another lesson. That's when he saw ten armed organics enter. Five of them held the bodies of his merc crew and a sixth held the head of the captain. Riptide saw the organic pluck the comm-piece out of the dead captain's ear and speak into it. His voice went across The Wavelength's loudspeaker. You called? Riptide growled and sat back down in the captain's chair and began the ship's startup sequences. The borg and four of the other armed organics started towards the ship as it began to lift off the floor. The cyborg simply smirked as he watched it exit the hangar. Silver 92 the target is inbound. Release our asset.
The mech was trying not to panic as he prepared for a jump to lightspeed. A beeping sound came from the control console and Riptide looked down to discover that the hyperdrive no longer worked. What the- Crash! A ship slammed into the Wavelength and attached cables to stop Riptide from getting away. A tall and slender figure launched himself out of the airlock of the opposing ship and crashed through Riptide's viewport. Riptide covered his face with his arms to stop the glass from cutting him. As he uncovered his face Riptide could see that his opponent was an android who was taller than him though not as wide. The android pulled out two thin swords and pointed them at Riptide. The blue mech looked at his shattered viewport and noted that the emergency forcefield had covered it, thus preventing them from getting sucked out into space. The android looked to be made out of a white metal that looked more like a long trench coat. His head was triangular looking in the front and widened out in the back and ended with a curved crest. A mask was over his mouth and his eyes were two red circles surrounded by black. Riptide reached to his waist only to find that he was currently wearing only one of his two cutlasses. Shrugging, the mech pulled it out and wielded it in his right hand. He stared at his silent opponent and raised an optic ridge. So who the hell are you? And why the frag are you attacking me? His opponent answered with his blade, specifically with a cross-cut at Riptide's neck. Riptide ducked and stabbed forward with his blade only to be blocked. They clashed blades multiple times and Riptide was beginning to sweat (figuratively of course) as his opponent seemed better than himself. The bounty hunter growled and unleashed a fast and furious flurry of blows with his cutlass, whipping the silver through the air like a blur. He finished the combo with an upward cut across the android's chest before using his left palm and unleashing a geyser of his internal water. The geyser pushed the android against the control console and Riptide stabbed forward with victory in his optics. That when the android dodged left and Rip's blade sunk into the control panel. Sparks flew as the forcefield deactivated and Riptide and his opponent were sucked into the void of space.
Riptide yelled into the void as he used a burst of water to stop himself. His opponent used thrusters in his feet to stop himself before boosting towards Riptide. With a silent roar Riptide used another geyser to propel himself towards his opponent. He extended his fist as his sword was still stabbed into the control console. Riptide saw the android blink for the first time ever before an intense pain went through both his arms. In an instant the pain was gone and his arms were floating off into the blackness. Riptide screamed as energon floated out of the now stumps of his arms. The android was behind the mech now having teleported in an instant and using the surprise to lob off his arms. The droid kicked Riptide towards the open airlock of his ship and the fainting Riptide could barely make out two silhouettes standing at the airlock's entrance. He and the android landed inside the airlock and the door closed. The android walked off as calm as ever as one of the two figured smirked and kicked Riptide. The mech heard one last thing before he blacked out. Stay awake will ya's? The boss of the Silver Starz wants a word with ya!
