Ignore my broken english, please, that's not my native language.
After some discussions in Skype, I decided to make this thread with the next themes.
-About the resource management in each faction.
-Energon mining and everything related with its extraction and find such mines.
I'll talk about them in the same thread because in some point, they are closely related. (continue reading to know more.)
I've notice many people used their stored resources, but in excessive way in both sides, so, sooner or later, both factions have to fight for the resources of the Earth. After all, that is only of the many reason because Cybertronian has came to this planet. It has a big amount of energon mines, petroleum products, etc., everything you need to continue this endless war, YAY!
Also, in this way we'll avoid the senseless fight between RPers. And I have to accept it, even knowing the decepticon and autobots usually it is a political issue in some point, no many of us wants to be involved into deputies and senators madness, So, I find extractive missions to involve more people into the action.
So I make a call to you, as RPer to stop being lazy and move your OC asses to make something productive to your faction, to you, faction leader/high commands, to get your people involved into mining and extractive missions.
Now lets imagine a series of events like stealing oil factories, breaking petroleum pipelines, invading human mines, etc. I have given you some reasons to start a fight, including the fact that you only want to take something for free, or defend some resources that 'belong' to humans.
Also this is a good opportunity to link this serie of events with MECH and KSI. Cybertronians should to get outside to get the resources needed for any particular purpose. Some people and military forces would start tracking the Cybertronian signs of life everytime the find a mine or found a stolen factory.(Note: Don't ask me about this theme, ask to the members who are organizing such event)
We have been talking about resources. Now let's talk about energon mining in general.
First, I have to mention this: the current list energon variants are banned (red energon, tox-en, dark energon, etc, etc. We dont want rainbows, if you want a collection of fancy crystals, mine another stuff). Just try to mine regular energon
Many people who came from the old forums can remember the mining missions when people got involved and they started to fight to take control of such mine, and being honest, I haven't seen such kind of stuff like this in stellar cycles! Please, we have to remind those funny moment and bring them back. But after some discussion we've noticed the risks of raw energon expositions, but I have to mention some of us doesn't know about this kind of risks or just ignore them. Personally I would like to delete the energon risk, or at least minimize damage to get common OCs into this events without the need to make an OC miner.
Now, some points which should to be discussed
-If any character wants to find a energon source (mine) it must to be with a radar, by geologic knowledges or in the last case, be an energon conduit. (I'm not responsible about conduits)
-You'll need at minimum 6 post since you start to make the energon search and find it. (Note, they will be more if they're 'one-liner' posts). We have to consider the energon mines are kinda hard to find, so, try to avoid everything about: Oh John, I've found shiny crystals!
-We need to make a standar about the number of posts per mining.
-If you can, try to use a real location of a possible mine based in real data (specially kind of metal/minerals like copper, iron, tungsten, etc)
- About the risks of raw energon exposition (go to the poll, please) -If the raw energon risk are confirmed, about who are the ones who are immune to their effects (terrorcons, miner, energon conduits, etc)
Thanks for your attention and comment, please.

Honestly in most medias the only dangers ever shown were energon's volatile(explosive) nature and standards issues mining issues, along with the problems a couple of the subraces of transformers had....then again that was because of how they evolved. But adding a risk to reward to raw energon would make things more interesting, but it still has to be fair.

I honestly think, the exposure idea is bit to Beast Wars orientated. Something a little less lethal should be a dangerous measure. For example unless a character touches it they should be fine. If there's a huge risk of exposure effecting ones character then it would discourage people from trying to mine the resources there factions need. Also, because of stuff like Energon mining it creates infiltration, and take over missions which would give people more to do, and in turn would create a lot more activity on the forums.
I mean honestly lets face it, if people are just standing around waiting for a big event to happen, (The way things are currently going. Which, is a stupid way to do things, in my opinion anyway.) their eventually going to get bored, and leave, because lets face it no one wants to be on a TF forum where everyone's on their Afts, talking, or fighting for no real cause. I mean when people hear about a TF forum, they want action, missions, and goals for those mission, and epic battles between Autobots, and Decepticons over the fate of their own race, and the Earth. They want to feel like their contributing to the team by helping on dangerous missions as much as they can. But, people can't do that if their just as I said, sitting around waiting for the next big event. Or, a big plot line, we need something going on while people wait, we need side plots, and events to build up to the bigger ones.
That's why I think this Mining idea is good, but the only way it'll work well is if the risk factor is turned down a bit, this exposure can be deadly thing is kinda ridiculous. No one wants to do something if the risk is too high, I mean seriously it's almost as if the rule was made to keep people from going on mining operations. Which would be kinda counter productive to try to get things moving, and active on these forums. Thanks for listening to my little rant, and I hope my opinions help get the mining operation thing going, if you want people to be active then give them a reason to be.

I'm agree with you Heavy. I don't see a point to making raw energon dangerous to people. And, even, if those risks are approved by the community (or the staff) probably many people will ignore such effects. The reason because I added the poll, it to see the point of view of the members and find a balance given by such votes. *cough* Thanks Sky* cough* Don't kill me for that, Sky
But we don't wave to be pessimists. Maybe Derik is right, but we have to find a balance between the risks to make them playable. Maybe people could use some devices to expel the energon radiation and in this way avoid the energon risk. Obviously, the miners wont need this kind of devices. IDK.

Yeah I agree with completely and as I mentioned (by calling the beast wars crews a subrace) earlier, it would be fine to have drawbacks from unnecessary prolonged exposed to raw and unprocessed energon, to keep people from effectively making a home out of energon caves or something like that. An irritation or something like that from being around or handling raw energon too long could in theory give reason for people to make trips to mines and process it as soon as they can.

That's a good point, their should be a risk that, would keep people from forever inhabiting the mine, but at the same time we need to keep it so that we can still have characters able to mount inspection, infiltration, and takeover stuff. But, I do see the point, we don't want people to live in these mines, and need a reason to process it quickly. Jeez trying to make things fair is kinda hard. XD

Well, I expected mre about the admins and their opinions. *sighs*. Anyway, I'll satrt with the first minning mission in Lechuguilla'. In this way we0ll see which things need to be adjusted, but do not want to make too much mess as conduits.

*Ahem, Clears throat*
Okay @medicsplashbug I've been eyeing this thread for a bit, and after some consideration, I think I'll pipe up about this. While I can agree with the whole energon-mining, getting it, and how it should take time--it shouldn't take as long as six posts to find energon. Maybe that sounds fair to some of you, but in my opinion, things could be adjusted on the time.
Let's say you like to go on mining missions by yourself, and not too many people do anything about it. So you have to pump out six reasonably beefy posts to get anywhere. I've had my Oc go on four or five mining missions in-between a real fighting mission, and really, only once was I ever interrupted. Same with some of the Decepticons. Maybe that's not going to happen now that some of us are paying attention to this whole enetgon mining thing, but my suggestion is this:
-1-2 people, then it can take about 3 posts to find the energon. Not mine it, but find it. However, the disadvantage is one or two people are easy to overwhelm.Come in numbers, and those guys are messed up, but meanwhile, if they are successful, the mission is faster.
-3-5 people. This should take four to five posts, but I think that even with that number of players their, six posts is just a bit over the top. The advantage for the miners is they have more security, but it takes longer, opening the opportunity for an assault. But the defenders would have more men for counter attack.
-6-8 people is six posts. If you see the pattern here, you'll know why.
Now, another thing I've noticed with this whole energon mining thing is, in my experience, when a bunch of people tag along, usually they just sit around pointing their guns everywhere. While it is wise to be cautious, and you say that players who aren't miners can't harvest energon, it should be perfectly legal for players to help out with the actual digging, and speed up the finding. It would still take just as many posts listed, but at least the guy in charge of the protectobots or vehicons wouldn't be having to do all the work while his buddies assure him that he's perfectly safe as they jab their weapons at the ceiling.
