A long silence, a nice silence. He didn't know he needed it, but he did. It felt nice to be alone with his thoughts, only having Pet around to keep him company. It could all change in the blink of an eye, he knew that, and that was why he was enjoying it while it lasted. Just as anticipated, it didnt take long for the calls to start coming in. He got the signal from the artillery men that they were ready. Once everything was in position, hell would be unleashed upon the autobots in Petrex. They really had something coming for them. Another call came, this time from Kydro. He was in position. This was starting very well. The clicks came from the south-western gun and from the north-east as well, so now only two cannons remained to clear. It couldn't take that long to do. While he waited, he activated the holotable to get an overview of the battlefield, where their artillery was situated.
Now the call from Slapfoot, the vehicon soldier, came in, signaling that he was ready too. Good, now only one remained. Tarn waited longer, but nothing came. Ugh, they couldn't wait longer, but he would have a word with those responisible for going to that tower. If this operation failed, helms were going to roll. There was nothing he could do about it. He vented, closed his optics before opening them again. It was time, operation: "Thunderstorm" had begun. ::"All artillery units, fire at will. Let them know we are here, and provide cover for the ground crew.":: Tarn sent this comm to the units with the artillery pieces, and it took only mere moments before the thundering booms of the giant artillery cannons firing could be heard all the way to his position. After the initial volley, they kept going, the different cannons firing individually, creating a deafening noise to those standing next to them.
::"Infiltraion squad, yuor mission is a go. Decepticons, Attack!":: Now everyone had gotten their orders, hopefully the large anti-air cannons would fall quickly, allowing for the main part of their forces to move in. He hadn't told anyone, but Ailnoth was gone, at least for now. He coulnd't say why, or how, but the giant had vanished. There was no trace of him, but Tarn woulnd't go looking for him now. He had a battle to win. He was in charge of the decepticons now, whether he liked it or not. Maybe it was permanent, maybe not. His mission was to make sure the cause was followed. A new age was upon them, starting with this. He couldn't wait to see how this would play out.

BackTrack quietly approached the large mech whose mask he had once repaired. He cleared his voicebox as he grew nearer. "Lord." He began, his tone even and calm, but pleasant. "..I mean not to interrupt. But it might be a long battle... " He did not say why, but simply held about five of the containers filled with energon, each sealed but ready with a needle, should a direct injection be needed. The lithe mech gazed ahead. He had come as well, His friend and assistant towering at his side. BuildUp would go ahead now, possibly if orders were thus given, otherwise he would remain with him.
If they were needed, they could advance into the battlefield later, give emergency repairs to the wounded. It was all up to the orders and what their superiors wished them to do. He did not personally mind. He had more containers of energon on him, he'd packed up any section of his frame that was not carrying his tools, or weapons, with that. Some of it was carried also by BuildUp, who could, by default of his frame bring more. Some of the energon was medical grade, some standard. There was as mall container of high grade but that was for when and if there was reason to celebrate.
"Where do you need us?" He asked looking at Tarn and then gazing on ahead. He had no idea that the Autobots had been warned, yet did nothing about the information provided. Not that he'd have cared, as long as their plan was successful, nothing else mattered.

Tarn had watched with mild interest on the holomap, seeing the battle unfold in the city. Thus far it didn't seem as if they were too successful, but they didn't seem to lose that much either. Their artillery was doing damage upon the autobot fortifications, and no counterattack had yet been made. It seemes as if they were still in disarray, allowing the decepticons to continue their assault unhindered. The large mech heard somebody call out, most likely for him, and turned to face whoever had made the call, seeing the smaller medic and his larger friend. "I appreciate the offer. Put them on the holomap, where I can keep an eye on them." He pointed at the table, showing where he wanted them to be placed.
"I would need you in the city. It seems as if our soldiers can't get the job done. Your job is to take out the south-west cannon, then aid the others currently in the area. You may leave now." Tarn gave them one last glance before turning back to the warmap, searching for the next target to hit. The northern side was looking rather empty, not a lot of decepticons in there, but they were required to take out the two anti-air cannons, or this whole operation would end in a failure. ::"Focus artillery fire on the north-east cannon, take it out, render it inoperable!":: Soon thereafter, the large artillery pieces did as instructed, focusing their fire where the anti-air cannon was, according to the coordinates provided to them by the scouts. There was no risk of running out of ammo anytime soon, a lot of the shells fired were made from energy and weren't of a conventional type at all.
This was going according to plan, but they were understaffed. If it not changed soon, he'd have to go in himself and help the footsoldiers. The cavers were secured, and no autobot would be foolish enough to try and take him on alone. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Some of them held a grudge, and some were just stupid. You could always count on the autobots to do something stupid, thinking it would work and then ending up biting the dust, if they had something left to bite with. He shook his helm. He'd make them see the light, to embrace the decepticon cause. To embrace the true cause.

BackTrack placed the energon containers on the holo table, careful to prop them up so that they might not slide off and break, or worse. He nodded at the large mech and then stepped back once the load was delivered. He was about to protest that he was a medic and not a fighter but kept his mouthplates shut. Instead he nodded once more glancing towards his much larger friend, who was probably the one, most adequate for the attempt at the destruction of the aforementioned cannon. "South-west cannon, got it." He turned to leave then paused. Should he ask about the state and quantity of the medical personnel available for the wounded. Part of him simply told him that really, would Tarn care? He could and he could also be like many of the other Decepticons who had little concern for te wounded until they ended up as such.
"BuildUp. Lets go." He motioned for his friend to follow, and they both left the room moments later heading towards their new target. Of course they did not need to get right smack up to it, but get in range of BuildUp's own guns.

Another cannon had fallen, things were going as planned. Things were however not moving quickly enough, and the autobot army would soon get time to retaliate. They had to hurry this up, or they would have to withdraw, and thousands of decepticons would have died for nothing. He could not accept that happening. If things didn't go better soon he'd have to go in there himself. He didn't want to, since he was a hunter and not a warrior, but if it called for it, he would. Grunting slightly behind his mask, he paced through the room, waiting for any sort of sign that things were going the way he wanted them to, faster than before. He knew however that it wouldn't be the case, so he had to figure out something that would speed up the process. "Give the artillery directions to fire at the wall. I want that wall down quickly, so we can let ground troops inside to help those in there." He told a vehicon, who immediately saluted him. "Yes, Lord Tarn!"
As the vehicon left to go tell the artillery units their new objective, Tarn grabbed the energon from where the medic had placed it earlier, injecting it into his arm, feeling how his strength returned. It felt good, and he needed it. Luckily the medic had brought him a large stack, so he wouldn't run out of fuel for a long time. He took an extra one, putting it in his chest compartment to keep it there until he needed it next time. He then sat down in the chair next to the holo-map, seeing as standing around doing nothing and wasting energy was a poor choice here. It was better to conserve until it was needed next time. The thundering sounds of the artillery cannons now resuming their barrage, having gotten a new target, was deafening if you were outside, but his hearing was saved by the fact he had the luxury of being inside. Sometimes, being in charge was nice.

They had been busy organising some resources for the upcoming battle, and doing several other tasks not worth mentioning but necessary. Together, as they always were. Closer than Rack and Ruin. However, it was now time for them both and their small team of vehicons to join the battle and help their fellow Decepticons. Bluewing with a tad more enthusiasm than Whiteflier, if one paid enough attention.
They had their tools, their equipment and their weapons. They were ready to head out, and possibly take down the anti air guns.
"Sir?, Bluewing and Whiteflier reporting for duty along with squad 35-B. Where are we needed?" Asked the old ex-vehicon before his partner embarrassed them both by making some unnecessary comment about Tarn's presence there. Primus knew the seeker was a fan.

He could hear the sound of others approaching him, making him look up from what he was previously focused on. The walls had been dented, but not yet fallen. It would take a lot more to bring them down, he knew that. Growling slightly, he rose up from his seated position and neared the two smaller decepticons. Very interesting that they decided to report in now and not sooner, when they had been more needed. "Fancy seeing you here, deciding to participate in the fighting. We would have needed you in here earlier, along with the rest." He began, gesturing towards the holo-map representing the battlefield, semi-accurately. Individuals did not show up, but rather large objects, terrain and groups of people. "There are two anti-air cannons remaining, one in the south and one in the north. Slapfoot and two brigades are handling the north, but the autobots are mounting a counteroffensive, by the looks of it and judging from the reports that come in. Buildup and Backtrack are currently approaching the remaining southern cannon, and I suspect that Backbeat and Nevor are headed there as well. If you want to help, those places are where you want to go. You'll have to take the tunnels, Nightlock is in there, directing you where to go."
He finished his slight speech by walking out past them, motioning for them to follow. Outside, the hearing was a bit impacted by the roars of the cannons, so they wouldn't hear too much until they got farther away. He figured that they were intelligent enough to understand that while he hadn't given them an explicit order, it was clear what he wanted them to do. He didn't care which tower they went for, both of them had to be dealt with either way before they could move in. They just had to hurry, before autobot reinforcements arrived, making an invasion impossible. He himself had finally gotten enough. This took too long, he had to do something about it. Besides, there were some people that he'd like to meet, and of course have a nice chat with. Tarn knew it was risky, but he had to take it. The cannons were defended by thousands of decepticons, and they could handle themselves properly. He reached the nearest tunnel entrance, motioning for them to follow as his made his way inside, his purple optics glowing as a contrast to his dark frame. It was time to have some fun.

As Tarnation spoke, the two mech's had two very different reactions. Bluewing's wings kind of drooped and he lowered his gaze with a sigh, he wish they had arrived earlier. And they should, but they had had orders of finishing their tasks. He was going to maybe excuse himself. Give their superior an excuse, but Whiteflier saw it coming.
THe ex-vehicon knocked on the side of his partner's armor and shook his helm lightly, in a way that was hard to perceive. Hard to notice. He was fine, he didn't mind. They had been busy and what was done. Whining about how sorry they were, what wasn't true about himself at the very least, he wasn't sorry, wouldn't fix anything. Instead, he spoke up.
"We'll head there immediately, sir." He said, before jerking his helm towards the exit. Now they had to go. His blue colored partner lingered for a moment before they both left towards the tunnels.

The walls opened slightly, at the bottom, providing opening for entry or exit. This was to let the autobot army out, to finally fight back. They had suffered losses inside, but were nowere defeated. Thousands of soldiers were now on their way outside, blasters firing at the attacking decepticons. The ground soldiers weren't alone either, they had backup in the form of Close Air Support, CAS for short, which provided bombing runs to thin out the lines and gain air superiority. It was a matter of time to see if they would succeed or not. The artillery cannons were important targets, and had to be taken out quickly. Otherwise they could suffer massive losses. The soldiers on the ground moved to take defensive positions as their friends died around them from the returning fire from the decepticons. This could be a rough fight.

:: Oi, oi. If you Autobots hold any value to your life to anything more than fodder, you may want to get out of Petrex. No point in wasting your lives for a lost battle. You've all got no reason to listen me, but I don't see Vating in a position to lead you lot. So take this as an order from Skyspray's Third in Command. ::
A crack pierced the air in every Autobot's ear as someone hacked into their comms. The voice was masked by static making it hard to distinguish who the person is.

The bots valiantly fought on, despite suffering losses. They had inflicted a lot of damage on the decepticon forces, but the artillery cannons had proven to be quite the challenge. Their reinforcements had not arrived as quickly as they had hoped. Then the comm came through, claiming to be from the previous 3iC, back when Skyspray had been the leader. The soldiers all knew who that had been, as they had been present during that time. They wouldn't disobey orders, that wasn't their way. At once, moving as a swift unit, the attack broke off and they began retreating back into the city. The transport ships on the scene helped carry out the retreat, flying them back to safe grounds where they could fight another day. This fight was lost.
