"We have been at war for a while. I do not think many would think much of it other than that you are desecrating a body of a fellow autobot." He murmured and caught the arm carefully. He lay it down and as some of the autodrones seemed to look in the direction of the bot that just left, their postures clearly just a little more hostile, he shook his helm at them. :: I will repair you. ..Just get on with work, those who can.:: He sent to them, having gained a fair amount of respect for the 'fodder' of the autobot force. But having to stay around them for months without any other Autobot to converse with much, was a good way to make that possible.
He leaned over the autodrone he was repairing when a ping was sent to him from one of the guards. Two forms approaching. One extremely large, the other small. The rust storm had picked up again so the form had been spotted maybe once before only to be dismissed as nothing, due to it disappearing again. They were told to be on high alert. Should the attack come, they knew what to do.
He had finished with the bot he was fixing this time and glanced at the few others that still needed repairs. "Those that are wounded and cannot fight, retreat to the ground floor." That area was specifically reinforced with no windows or other ways of entry. The massive doors that were on one side, had been shielded off and had been barricaded so that if anyone did manage to tear through, the defenders would have enough cover from which to fight. Whoever was approaching would have an easier access from higher up, really.
He stood. They still could not tell if it was an enemy or friend, but something that massive would have been in their databases so... probably foe. He grunted. "Well... here we go again. ..You" He spoke to the twin. "If this gets Ugly, I might need one of you to go get help. Lets just hope the storm.. lets you fly."

"My name is Backdraft. Not 'you'."
He sent a comm to his brother before the two rushed over to an opening, waiting for a visual. He saw something glow in the storm for a moment, something he knew.
:: I'm seeing beast fire. Possible pred::

Eventually the beast came to a halt, the bot riding on it’s back hiding behind his crown of horns as he studied the building. It was barricaded and in lock down, but he did spot an opening up high. The beast didn’t show hostile behaviour, but it seemed agitated nonetheless.
He crouched, and launched himself into the opening, getting caught halway through. Extrius struggled a little, trying to push himself forward and wiggling about, whining softly before he practically fell through. He grunted, kicking up dust and Synum fell from his back. She got up and dashed to make sure he was okay, knowing very well he could take these hits like nothing.
Extrius transformed and stood, holding his helm to his full, monstrous height, looking about. It was only then he realized there were others inside, and he tensed up, stepping back in front of the little femme, growling protectively.

"Fine, You then." WheelSpin answered not really in the mood to argue about what he was going to call either of the twins. They have not shown respect to him earlier, when he was giving them orders, so he was not in the mood to make too much effort now. He heard a commotion, moving from those who had already moved the injured below or were in the process of doing so. Several of the Autodrones spread out around the main opening as if expecting that whatever was inside might try the 'easiest' way of getting in.
This time they were quite lucky (or unlucky) as that was exactly what happened. A large mass threw itself at the opening and then climbed inside. It struggled for a while, allowing some more of the autodrones to take position and aim ready to fire should the beast attack. Wheelspin lifted his servo as dust was thrown up at its landing to shield his own optics. He lowered it once more rather quickly, waving infront of his faceplates as if that would clear the dust quicker. There was now a pair of bots standing within the confines of their half repaired upper floor.
He held his arm, now transformed into a weapon, a null ray surprisingly enough, aimed at the bigger one's helm, though his optics briefly followed the movement of another, much smaller frame. He appeared protective of her but so far, less hostile towards them. Already he scanned to see if this was a Decepticon and an order had to be given to fire.
He could not see the insignia anywhere, but still remained cautious. He did snap at the twins to:" Don't move. Stay back. Unless I tell you otherwise." Then his optics were back on the beast. "Who are you?" He did not like the fact that now, that he was in sight he was already at a disadvantage to the much, much taller mech. "What is your business here?"

"W-wait, stop!" Backdraft stepped in front of the barrel. "Let me. I know more about beasts than you."
He turned towards the duo and held his arms up, showing that he wasn't armed before taking a slow step forward.
Skyflare stood off to the side, his four optics trying to get a view of the smaller bot.

He said nothing for a while as he studied the current situation. Autobots, better than Decepticons at least. They would have opened fire immediately. The mech let off an echoing growl from his chest, the howling winds outside attempting to take them away. He took a step forward, but fell to his knee, his biolights flickering as a brief moment of having low energon got to him, there was no other option. Synum bolted to aid the mech, crying out as she looked him over, then turned to Wheelspin.
"Please, sir! We've been wandering the wasteland for days! We're tired and low on energon and hoped to find some here! Please don't shoot!" She begged, her voice coming out strong for such a small bot. She held it within her optics, the image of days without end wandering aimlessly, fighting off those who attacked, and Extrius collapsing from exhaustion. She was telling the full-hearted truth.

Of course his orders would not be heeded. WheelSpin had half a mind to change his target for a 'friendly' but decided at the very last second to go against that temptation. Instead his focus was once more on the large dragon mech and the much smaller companion.
He did not fully trust them, but so far their actions had not been hostile. What was more, it did not take a medic to realise that the bigger bot's energon levels were low. The way his optics flickered, and his lights in general looked dimmed, it was something that could be faked, but not as easily. He could see no reason why such a large mech would have chosen to pretend weakness when his bulk suggested a powerful adversary. One....that could, if coming to their side, be of great benefit to them as well.
He lowered his null ray and after a moment, ordered the others to do so as well. ".....Move in. And don't make me regret this." He was still alert and ready to react, should his trust be proven wrongly placed.
"Who are you? Your faction, your designation, your purpose.. other than finding energon,.. I want to know them." He did not even turn towards the autodrone that he ordered to go retrieve some energon. He reached into his subspace for the first small container. His servo had not changed from the null ray yet, so it was a little awkward using only one but he did never the less, taking a step past the twin. He placed the container on the ground in front of the pair and backed up again to a safer distance.

Backdraft continued to walk forward slowly. Just because the big one was low on energy, didn't mean he wasn't a threat.
As he got closer, he stooped down to pick up the container before holding it out to the duo, "I'm not going to hurt you. And neither will they, not if I have anything to say about it."
The 12 foot tall mech gestured to his 14 foot tall brother, who began his approach before setting himself between the duo and Wheelspin. His optics flicked to his brother, "...Be careful. I don't want you to lose another hand."

The little femme watched the equally as small mech try to calm the situation down, but she felt the waves of agitation coming from her guardian, "Don't come any closer... he may be weak, but he's still dangerous..." She stated, knowing well that he knew regardless. Watching how one spoke to the other in a caring way, she could only make the assumption that the two were related in some way, making her tilt her helm a little before Extrius made a move to stand.
"I'd take her advice..." He growled lowly, only to stumble once more, making a pathetic noise a weakling would. Synum looked to the others, answering what they wanted to know.
My name is Synum, this is Extrius, my guardian... We're wanderers on this planet, we don't belong to a side..." She answered a little shyly, shrinking in on herself, We just want to gather our strength before we leave... That's all we ask."

"I told you to STAND DOWN, BACK AWAY from them, and get your afts down below before I have you both shot!" Wheelspin had just about enough of the insubordination shown by BackDraft. He had told the twins to stand back, did they do it? No. He was in charge of dealing with the pair, did that matter? No it did not. He had half a mind to get him arrested and contained, the both them, until they learned to follow orders.
"And let me remind you, that you have no power here, NO say, Soldier. Therefore your word is worth nothing to either US or them. Put that container down as well and let THEM take it themselves. He is a beast former, not a beast that needs to be servo fed!"
His engine revved in anger and annoyance at the pair who's audials he supposed, needed checking. He signalled and two of the autodrones began to approach BackDraft and SkyFlare to escort them back.
He turned towards the two wanderers finally, his engine quieting down, although it remained rumbling in a low tone. "I am afraid that our supplies of energon are limited. Which means, that.. should we be sharing any with you, we need to receive something of value in exchange. Nothing personal. What do you offer?"

Skyflare growled, "Leave my brother alone, medic. We know how to handle ourselves." He held his fists out to the autodrones, a threat to draw his weapons of they came closer.
Backdraft took a step back, this time offering the container to the femme, "You have a very good choice in guardians. His looks to be a might unparalleled by any other." He offered a small smile, hoping they wouldn't need Flare Draft to make an appearance.

The femme glanced down at the energon the shorter mech offered, gently taking it from him with a shy smile, "Thank you... looks are one thing... being an energon guzzler is another...." She looked over to his presumed brother, a little concerned but intrigued nonetheless. It was said t hat the smaller the bot the feistier they were. "Is... he alright?" Synum asked, tilting her helm a little. The mech that snapped was obviously of higher ranking than everyone here, and she silently shrunk back to the giant to give him the tiny amount of energon that was generously gifted to her.
"Here, it'll help with the helmaches..." The mech didn't take it, however he first answered Wheelspin.
"I can merely give protection and strength. Synum here is of much more value. She is a technician and medic, and very good at what she does. She can be more of an assistance to you." The mech then looked down at the two scoundrels, standing to his full height and deciding to help the poor sergeant a little with his booming voice and a heavy, ground shaking stomp, "Listen to the mech for Unicron's sake! Your whining is giving me a splitting helmache!" He exposed whatever wasn't of his sharp mouth, before sitting down to take the energon Synum had offered him. The little femme looked slightly embarrassed at his outburst, side glancing the others a little before standing prim at the mech's side. She wanted to make friends out of them, but with Extrius it didn't seem like it was going to happen.

"Sergeant." WheelSpin corrected him sharply. "And it is clear that you do not." Yes, he did his duty as a medic, but he was by rank a sergeant and this has reached a point at which his next step had been.
"...Arrest them. They will answer to Vatimus Prime for disobeying direct orders." He rattled a few more accusations, faults that the pair has commited since arriving at base before turning to the pair of newly arrived. The weapons of the autodrones were now pointed at both SkyFlare and BackDraft. "This insubordination will go in the report. I regret having repaired you." He added while the autodrones moved to take both of the twins into custody. If they fought now, they would be shot, and they would have even more to answer for. Mechs were eliminated for less.
"Are you willing to join the Autobot faction if we are willing to provide you with energon, shelter and protection?" He spoke to the larger bot, while aknowleding his reasoning on the benefits of the smaller one. A technician and a medic would be welcome additions to the team but only as long as they could be trusted. Extrius was certainly heading for his good side, with the words he had spoken to the pair, as much as with his otherwise calm exterior and reasoning. He would have been a fine addition to their faction too. Large, strong, probably a good fighter, although that he would only know if he saw him actually fight.

Skyflare growled, "So, we're being arrested for trying to help?! I knew coming back to cybertron was a bad idea..."
Backdraft seemed scared, before he and his brother linked, assuming their combined form.
"I'll leave you to it then."
Their tone was cold, with hints of annoyance and betrayal. Their biolights flickered slightly before they shot off out the hole the duo came through.

Extrius and Synum watched at the two combined and flew off, before the mech snorted, "Hmph, we would never adjust to being in such an... 'organized' community. Considering what I have just witnessed, no. I will not seeing as you are no longer in your own control by being on a side. Thank you but no thank you. Now, having said that, if you do not wish us to have any of your energon anymore we will leave."
Synum looked visibly disturbed. Looking up at the lingering hole, she wondered how many cybertronians were left on the planet exactly... judging by the fact there's a whole platoon here, she guessed quite a few. Maybe she still had a chance to prove to Extrius that she can take care of herself. The behemoth began to stand, reaching and gently taking Synum into his large servo and transforming into the giant lizard they first saw him as, the femme curling up behind his crown.

"Suit yourselves. There's the door." If they were as unwilling to cooperate as the pair that just left had been, then WheelSpin saw no benefit in bringing them into the faction. He already regretted having given them any energon at all. But that was how good deeds were thanked.
"As for your doubt of your own control in the faction. You get freedom enough. But to do just about anything your spark desires at the least appropriate times? Not even society allows you that, so why would a faction that relies on you, every single individual, to survive, allow for total and complete disregard of authority? ...If you could not trust your friend, and she could not trust you to be there, when either of you needed each other .... how safe would you really be?" He was done. They were welcome to leave. He was not going to waste Energon on those who were unwilling to provide anything at all in return. They were not a charity. His bots, his side mattered. For them he would die. For some stranger? No.

(Please do not skip me.)
As soon as the duo had left, it was as if an invisible force smacked them out of the air. They hit the ground before skidding in the direction of shockwaves tower, fighting to get a hold on the ground as he clutched his chest. He let out a tormented scream before splitting apart, his two halves snapping away from each other like elastic stretches to far.
The two were clutching the chests, their sparks signatures skyrocketing as the same force kept them stumbling and sliding toward the tower that was so far away.
Then, as suddenly as it began, it stopped. Both were venting heavily as they collapsed, still clutching their sparkchambers.

((Apologies, I assumed you had left. I'll move my post down one.))
The dragon took a stomp forward, letting off a very guttural growl as he glared down at the mech with his fiery optics, "I've already lost one that meant more to me than anything else on this damned planet to your fractions. I will not lose another. Come Synum, you're just going to have to hang in there a little longer, we'll find energon elsewhere. I promise." He was in no condition to fight for the energon they so desperately needed, and he was not about to risk Synum dying because of his anger issues. He hated playing the lower of the other, it wounded his pride, but it was a sacrifice.
The little femme watched the bots as they left, looking rather disappointed and upset, putting her face in her knees as their shape shrunk into the dying storm. There had to be energon somewhere... right?
Once he was far enough away from the building, he looked back at Synum, who was being pretty quiet. Something else caught his attention, however. The smell of distress as the storm once again cleared in it's odd fluctuations. Someone was hurt? Who could it have been? Synum would surely pick it up as well, and knowing her, he had no choice but to follow it.

"And yet you will sacrifice her life for your pride and quasi principle. Congratulations." WheelSpin spoke loud enough for the dragon bot to hear, as he turned to leave. Why did he even offer her services and his own if he never really meant to realise his part of the 'deal'?
He shrugged and turned to the Autodrones. "Watch them. Watch the entrance. If they return.." And he meant both the twins or these two. "Let me know. And if they appear hostile. Shoot." He was not going to pursue the twins. They'd know soon enough how bad it was to be on one's own and without Energon. Why risk his autodrones in the storm? He did not see them crash, none of the others did.

It took a while, but the two were able to get back to each other before walking in the same direction as the two neutrals. However, Skyflare was giving Backdraft quite the cold shoulder.
