Driving through the streets of Shanghai Surecase loved the hustle and bustle that occurred within the busy city, however despite the enjoyment and relaxing nature of his drive through the city Surecase knew he wasn't here for pleasure. The Autobot was on business as his small hatchback alternative mode glided through the neon soaked roads as water continued to trickle down from the heavens. Shanghai was caught in a short shower of rain as every droplet dampened his mood as well as the road, in his time on Earth he'd accustomed to Earth's weather although it didn't mean he was by any means a fan of it.
He supposed it was better than driving through a rust storm at least he could see. However it also meant everyone could see him as the bright red Honda Civic 1.6 i-Dtec continued to slowly move through the streets, his clean paint job glimmering against the flickering neon lights. More than a few humans could see him as he drove through the heart of Shanghai's industrial centre, Surecase's task was to investigate for Decepticon activity. So far he considered the search pleasingly successful, not a single decepticon signal since he'd arrived on Earth.
It'd been two hours since his last status report and the little 23ft mech figured it wouldn't hurt sending one now as he reversed into a back alley, dimming his lights in the process as he began to send a comm signal back to High Grand.
Surecase: Surecase reporting in. No Decepticon activity in the area. I think we might have lost the Decepticons in the last sector.
Having sent his signal Surecase waited for some reply as his entire frame was consumed in darkness he just waited watching the scanners in the process, then there was the simple bleep that told him his last transmission had been received. Now he just had to get back to the job as his engine shuddered back into life seconds later he was pulling out of the alley way and back onto the busy streets. Then he saw it a flickering light up in the sky blinding his optic receptors when he zoomed in on the object too much, he was prone to making silly little mistakes like that.

As the Autobot was observing the bright light, Gearchange began sending a transmission through to him after recieving his report.
]This is Gearchange Maximus to Agent Surecase, how's the weather out there? Decepticons or no decepticons we've always got to keep ourselves prepared for the worst.

Speeding up Surecase began to scan the unusual light source identifying it as more than just a comet, his small moment of stupidity zooming in on the object had revealed it was infact a droppod of cybertronian origin. He just needed to find out what exactly as he began to scan the comet's trajectory he realised it was going to land in Shanghai's downtown area, even now he could tell he wasn't going to reach it before it landed as he looked around the street most of the humans where focusing on the "comet" burning high above.
Surecase: Yeah it's a little bit of a downpour nothing I can't handle. I've seen worse things fall from the sky.
They weren't focusing on the road. Under the circumstances speed was of the essence and now the humans where somewhat distracted he needed to react to the scenario. A perfect excuse for him to begin accelerating as his headlights became a blur making the downpour of rain even more visible as the autobot scout recklessly sped up. The small hatchbacks wheels struggling to grip to the road as Surecase drove past numerous cars, Already he was beginning to link up with police radios as to avoid causing any delays. Then it hit as the droppod high above came crashing down in the downtown area nearby Jing'an Temple.
He was closing in on the crashzone at ridiculous speeds now as Surecase drifted past corners taking side routes and a variety of shortcuts, when assessing a droppod situation it was imperative to arrive before the protoform scanned a vehicle. He was only a few streets away now as Surecase spotted the crashzone a single droppod had landed in a parking lot. Slowing his speed down dramatically the breaks screeched into life as Surecase began to move in on the droppod, his car coming to a slow enough pace that he could transform as the 23ft mech transformed rising up onto his pede's in a fluid movement as he flipped his left servo revealing a energon blaster cannon.
There was energon signals coming from the pod as he proceeded to advance on the pod a closer look brought a terrible realisation, it was open.
Surecase: Come in High Grand. We might have a problem here.

Gearchange replied through the communication channel.
Surecase, what's the situation... I'm getting news reports of a comet sighted over Shanhai from local astrology networks. Can you identify what has landed?

Straightening up Surecase began to run his digit's over the escape pod will he spoke to Gearchange. He was looking for anything that could allow him to identify whether it was of Autobot or Decepticon origin.
Surecase: It's a orbital landing pod I can't tell if it's one of ours or not seems to be pretty old, got to have spent at least ten years in space looking at the condition of the pod.
Crouching down Surecase would look an unusual sight for any human as the 23ft mech continued to search the pod for any clues of what had inhabited the pod as well as it's whereabouts. The pod had recently been dispensing a continuous supply of energon to it's user during the travel now he had to find that user as he began to straighten up. The bright lights of numerous car headlights illuminated his red and grey frame as his freshly coloured paint job almost glimmered in the light, it was a shame he was such a short and bulky mech due to his alternative mode he might have got some femmes to look at him otherwise. Talking to them was always an issue though he was used to tracking down decepticons not Autobot femmes, what could he say to them that he could track them to the end of the galaxy... no that was stupid it sounded more like a creepy threat than a talent.
He was drifting off again as he shook his head firmly he finally found what he was looking for as he touched a single panel, the light touch activating a chain of events as the pod closed up by linking the different sections of the door, allowing him to see the design sketched into the door. It was the decepticon insignia.
Surecase: Frag. We've got Decepticon's here.
Spinning around Surecase began to aim his blaster expecting an attack from anywhere as he looked through the hordes of different cars, a parking lot was as good as anywhere to hide as he looked through spotting a number of vehicles that stuck out. A Ferrari Enzo, Aston Martin Vanquish, Ford Shelby Mustang, Dodge Challenger, hummer jeep, a heavily tuned Mitsubishi Evo. He betted it was the Mitsubishi Evo it just looked too different too heavily modified to be normal, it stuck out a mile away as he aimed down his sights. What if it wasn't a decepticon what if he shot it?

If it was a decepticon landing pod... then they would come looking to retrieve it...
Surecase standby, I'm on my way to your position. I'm pretty sure that whoever was in that pod is now hidden, do not disable the pod's tracking signal as that would only lead to suspicion.
The sound of the groundbridge terminal booting up signalled that the mech was on his way.

Holding his weapon steady aimed at the Mistibushi Evo Surecase quite visibly didn't enjoy how out in the open he felt as he shivered gripping hold of the energon blaster cannon for extra support with his left servo, the rain by now was leaking into his armour and although it wasn't going to damage his circuits it wasn't pleasant as he pulled down his battlemask into place. The large armour plating covering his entire faceplate except for two little slits which allowed him to see through.
Surecase: Okey dokey boss man. I'll just be sitting here waving my gun at stuff you know the simple stuff.
However his battlemask wasn't just for protection as it began to integrate with his optics, a brief flicker signalled the link up as the mask itself began to provide additional vision modes and minor tactical awareness. Flickering his vision modes Surecase entered his favourite vision mode for decepticon hunting known as electro magnetic vision, it began to display everything in a standard grey wash however electronic devices lighted up ever so slightly into a white glow. On the other hand a Decepticon, a cybertronian Decepticon without relevant counter measures would light up like a firecracker as long as they where within range. That made the Mistibushi Evo all the more disappointing as it barely glowed white.
Whatever the decepticon was disguised as it wasn't the Mistibushi Evo.
Surecase: Good news. I've narrowed our search down, one down...
Looking around Surecase made out the numbers on a vacancy sign in the parking lot as the news hit him depressingly hard.
Surecase: ...two hundred and forty nine to go.

A green vortex began to glow in the back of a loading bay near to a commercial shop. Gearchange emmerges and immediately takes the form of his NEST Armored Rig, the rain began to pour down his windscreen. His lights flicker on along with the windscreen wipers. Rain pours through the hitching pad of his rear axels and drops out through underneath. The engine rattles into action and his wheels slowly begin to edge him out onto the busy roads. Inside of the rig a console beside the steering wheel illuminates and displays his location with a small avatar of his head along with Surecases.
Gearchange to Surecase, I'm on my way. Make sure you keep an eye out for any energon readings spiking in your vicinity incase the decepticon has decided to stay put... in this weather energon trails cool down on radars pretty quickly.

Whining at the discomfort of water running down his backplate Surecase continued through the parking lot allowing his EM vision to try and pick up anything out of the ordinary, he hadn't paid attention to the vehicle makes now that they where all in the dull grey of his vision mode. It was a silly mistake considering any of them could have slithered away will he was turned away. Well that was likely the best case scenario, Surecase was certain worse case scenario and he would be dead pretty soon.
Come to think of it thinking of his impending doom probably wasn't the best way to think about it or maybe it was the best thing to think, he didn't know. His processor hurt now come to think of it... ahh thinking hurt.
Surecase: Any second now would be really appreciated. You know I'm kind of a little wet. Yeah that's the main issue Decepticon not so much.
The most unnerving part of the scenario he had found himself in was the complete lack of cover. Sure he had a few cars to hide behind if the Decepticon transformed infront of him, but he was surrounded by numerous larger car parks and similar facilities. Why couldn't the landing pod have landed well somewhere a little higher.

Its just a bit of water Surecase, seriously if the decepticon gets ya at least the energon will wash away.
The mech teases as his lights glare as he enters the car park, the rig pulls up and cuts its engine transforming to reveal the wrecker who stood 30ft tall. His shoulders rolled as he strode over to the drop pod.
I'm just teasing you lad, now lets have a look at this drop pod shall we... what make is it, did it have a serial number by any chance?
The mech bends down as he inspects the identification plate.
Come over here for a sec and shine your light on this thing.

Shaking his head to get some of the water off Surecase was used to hunting Decepticons on planets where water wasn't a concern, it was easier to trace something when their marks weren't being drained away in the process.
Surecase: It's Decepticon origin. I'd say probably one of the orbital pods from earlier Decepticon cruisers, it seems to be in too good a condition to be one of the wrecks they where using by the time of the exodus.
Tapping his right shoulder plate a piece of armour shrivelled up transforming as his entire right shoulderguard popped out of it's slot in his armour. Then it began to float as the shoulderguard was revealed to be a sort of drone which hovered through tiny jump jets on it's wings. It looked just like a tiny aerialbot alternative mode as it activated a torch on the tip of it's nose which illuminated Gearchange's back and the landing pod. Surecase called the little drone flicker, it was a useful companion when he needed something done but also needed to watch his back as he continued to aim into the distance. Something was out there.
Surecase: Bright enough for you?

Aye that's good... You'd be right about the pod being from one of the earlier Decepticon ships, but it could also be from a construct. I'm not certain we can track it either... all the flight data's been erased, or possibly downloaded already. No serial number either means that whoever was in this pod does not want their footsteps retraced.
Gearchange straightens up and looks around at the cars surrounding them.
You didn't get any positive readings with the EM scanner?

An old 1969 Chevy Camaro was parked in building not too far from the Autobots. He dulled his signal down sending him into basic observation mode, but it made him harder to pick out. A Decepticon pod landing in the middle of a populated urban area was not the best use of resources, but the thing was old... probably scrap from a dead cruiser or something. But Gearchange, the SiC of the High-Grande was there... that was interesting. Chevron's golden Decepticon insignia lay on his right door, and gave off a dull shine in the pattering rain. His gloss black was slightly wet from the splashback even when he was under a roof. But such a high up Autobot, he could try to take him on... gain some respect. Nah... that would be a death sentence... maybe if I could separate the other one from Gearchange...

Surecase continued to look around the parking lot as he began to take a few nervous steps backwards, back towards Gearchange and the pod as his blaster sights continued to sway from car to car in an attempt to find whatever was there. He was a great hunter but in all honesty Surecase hadn't hunted anyone who knew how to hide in a few centuries, he was used to the bulking scrapmetal of a tank trying to hide within a row of commercial vehicles on whatever planet he'd landed on.
When Surecase began to think about it actually it seemed every decepticon he'd met for a long, long time had desired the use of military vehicles over civilian vehicles. A Decepticon trying to hide in a vehicle like that was laughable. Then again he did figure they where only chosen for their ability to wreck with maximum efficiency. He was drifting off again thinking about other things rather than fixating on the present.
Surecase: Nothing at all. Cover me will I have a bit of a thorough look. If there's anything hiding on that pod I'll find it.
The moment he had a chance Surecase began to crouch down closer to the orbital landing pod as his optics flickered between numerous vision modes. Currently he was using Gearchange as cover will his little assistant flicker moved into place hovering just above his shoulderplate. The large bright beam of flicker's central light slowly began to cover the entire pod, The beam itself increasing in intensity at the gentle order of a wave towards the pod from Surecase. The huge light source was now giving him a much better view as the rain continued to pour down from the heavens.
Surecase: My EM didn't pick up anything at least not for this parking lot I'm assuming whatever it was has got up and moved or their using top grade jamming technology. I doubt it's the jamming technology, you can usually pick that up on your scanners creates a lot of pulse energy in the vicinity.
That was all this planet seemed to do come to think of it, rain everywhere as far as he could see. The little recon preferred the nicer things earth had to offer such as sun, he really liked the sun... well as long as it didn't bake his armour he hated feeling uncomfortably warm. Thinking about it Surecase just didn't like Earth weather in general but the rain was the worse, or thunderstorms the idea of getting his circuit's fried didn't appeal him, neither did tornado's or hurricanes. He'd been on a ship swirling out of control and that wasn't fun no need to try it without the ship.
Surecase: So do you think the weather will get better or maybe like just stop?
Continuing to let his mind drift Surecase still kept on task as he ran a single digit down the pod door, the pod proceeded to open up again slowly as Surecase made notice of the speed it opened and specifically how it opened. If the Decepticon had hidden in the time it had taken him to arrive how quickly the pod opened could give him an idea as he shut it again with the information collected.
Surecase: There not here any more...
Sighing at his failure to reach the pod in time Surecase's systems picked up an unusual sound in the distance. Instantly he knew what it was as he recognised the explosion of gasses released from a chamber, they where being fired at. Gulping Surecase began to twist his helm around as the energy round closed in on both him and Gearchange within miliseconds giving neither any time to react. It's path of possible destruction coming clear as the energy round barely skimmed pass Gearchange's helm, straight over Surecase's drone flicker and narrowly passing his own helm before it dissected into the pod. The speed of the round too quick to catch more than a glimpse as Surecase's optics looked at the hole created in the pod. He could still feel the warmth of the bullet's path whatever it was it had been burning at a ridiculous temperature. Now he needed to know what exactly the damage had been as he crouched down to inspect the pod.
On closer inspection Surecase gave an uneasy gulp it had cut straight through the heavily armoured orbital pod and dissipated into to nothing after making a penetration in the ground behind. They'd both been extremely lucky the shot had missed each bot by only the smallest of margins, either that or it was the most accurate warning shot Surecase had ever seen as he looked up towards where the bullet must have came from.
Two blood red optics high above where staring straight at him in the distance. Then they where gone as the Decepticon in the darkness began to turn away.

Chevron saw the 'bot looking at him for a brief moment, his unflinching resolve not breaking as he new he couldn't him. I could come back if he put the damned EM scrap away, so I could call in for some back up, or lure the easy meat away from the brute Gearchange... Maybe if I send out a short burst.... get him looking around here for any trouble... then tear his helm off... yeah... that could work... the 'con thought as many of his systems came back into life. He sent out a short blip of energy disguised as a emergency beacon as he rolled his car down to the lower levels of the parking lot.

Weather's weather... this sector of Earth has downpours frequently like the sea of rust has its rust storms. Whatever was in that pod has moved off...
Gearchange immediately flicked his right servo down and transformed it into his wrecker grade blaster as he felt the air bend around the vacuum trail from the round. The mech looks around before turning to the pod.
And that... is a warning shot. Whoever fired that round, doesn't want us to follow. Whoever came out of that pod, is extremely skilled... An assassin or infiltrator class warrior.
Gearchange inspects the damage caused.
Whoever caused this, has a weapon I've never seen before. I'd better call NEST in and have this pod removed...
The mech turns to face Surecase.
Its no doubt alright... The Decepticons are back.

Looking around Surecase shivered at the demonic eyes he'd seen in the darkness, even now they where gone he still felt threatened as he checked his scanners. Someone or something was sending out a distress signal nearby. Last time Surecase checked though he was the only Autobot assigned to Shanghai, it was far to close to be genuine.
Surecase: To believe I was thinking about a Decepticon free vacation it was going to be... I'm picking up a distress signal.
Staring down at his energon blaster cannon Surecase didn't understand why he carried it around it was old and ineffective against armour nowadays, all it really was good for was knocking out weaker Decepticons and dealing with vehicons. Then again it wasn't his primary weapon it was just for the threat of holding a cannon, it was a lot more threatening that his cross-bow. At least that packed a punch though as he flipped his energon blaster cannon back into his servo. Allowing him to pull out his cross-bow as he proceeded to place a single armour piercing bolt in the bow.
Surecase: It doesn't seem genuine. What do we do?

Its probably a lone decepticon scout. I'd imagine he'd have come looking for the drop pod... I guess they got more than what they had bargained for though.
The mech chuckles out
Don't be fooled though, decepticons always have backup at hand... keep a sharp optic for any suspicious activity. No doubt he's trying to hide his EM signature in amongst the other cars.
Gearchange proceeded to drop down an orange visor which began connecting up to local police networks, all the numberplates and registration details of each car began to appear, being translated from the local chinese dialect to cybertronian. Each vehicle having their EM waves detected.

A loud crackle of metal could be heard echoing from the concrete jungle as Chevron transformed, his combat revolver in his left hand and his chainsaw making up the forearm of his right servo. His red optics narrowed down as he back peddled down the ramp, his pedes causing light cracks in the floor as he stealthily moved out, against the will of his old joints. He revved his chainsaw, a thick, almost tangible sound burst through the patter of the rain as the bulky weapon lurched into life, billowing smoke and dust from his elbow. "I ain't got time for this 'bots..." Chevron called out as he reached the ground floor, "Whatever was in that pod is still out 'ere and I'm guessin' it's on my side!"
