In Mauritania, west Africa, an impact crater of the Richat Meteor was left undiscovered in plain sight until the humans were capable of suborbital flights. There, the human astronauts spotted a small, turquoise circle in the ridges in the north of Mauritania, around forty kilometres in diameter. The reason for the sand being scorched a bright blue? Humans say the vitrified sand and soil was tinted a greenish-blue due to impurities and sediment in the dirt.
However, Decepticons know otherwise. The Richat Meteor contained large amounts of energon in its core, and when it collided, said energon was thrust deep underground, where that glow penetrates through the sand, rock and glass of the Eye of the Sahara.
A small, white mech stumbled along the uneven blue terrain near the centre of the impact crater. His right servo was transformed into an almost syringe like blade and his other carried a sensor that was beeping ever more furious the closer he got to the centre of the Richat Structure.
"Seems about right..." Tetron muttered, before he place the sensor back onto his utility belt. His blade quickly popped out slightly, revealing its ability to rotate on the horizontal axis as it gently swivelled perpendicular to his servo. A thick tube could be seen at the opposite end of the blade where it fed into his forearm where 6 empty cylinders awaited to be filled. A he crouched down, the other servo dusting away some of the sand and rock to get a clear shot, before he swiftly stabbed his blade into a glowing blue pocket of glass.
It hardly cracked, in fact, he was slightly liquid due to the immense amount of energy being radiated from the energon below. The blade extended further until Tetron felt the energon being thrust up into his system from the immense vacuum he had created to absorb the liquid. The bright blue fluid flowed through his tubing and into one canister, filling it up effortlessly within seconds, before they closed off, and rotated, allowing an empty canister to be filled.
--2 Kilometres from Tetron's location--
A ground bridge opened behind a large ridge of glass and rock, cascading blue and green light across the glowing terrain, which was quickly enveloped by the bright lights approaching the centre, as to not reveal the Decepticon's location to the Autobot scientist.
The black mech retrieved the rifle from his back and let it hang gently by the grip in his left servo, before he started to tread over to the unsuspecting bot when he slung it to his right hand as well, letting him get a good grip of the trigger as his feet cracked and shattered the rocks and glass he stood on, the high pitched noises being echoed gently throughout the massive dome.
"Goodbye 'bot, thanks for your cooperation," Chevron muttered as he placed his right knee on the ground, moving is left pede over slightly for him to rest the battle rifle on.
He looked down the holographic sights, before they transformed into a scope, providing better zoom and accuracy. The reticle hovered over Tetron's helm, gently swaying before the 'con's joints locked, providing now sway in his aiming.
A shock wave erupted from the barrel as the hypersonic projectile was launched forward, the friction with the air providing a coat of fire around the metal shell.
Tetron however, was amused. He, being a robot of immense intelligence, more a computer than cybertronian, had reflexes faster than many, and within a matter of miliseconds after hearing the first crunch of Chevron's movements 2 kilometres away, he had programmed the coordinates for a short distance ground bridge, and as soon as the crack of the rifle was detected (Tetron being able to detect sound from faster-than-sound objects from the slight distortions in light patterns caused from the different refractions of the compressed air) the bridge was opened both between him and Chevron, and behind Chevron too.
The bullet cracked in through the bridge, appearing mere metres from behind Chevron, who, much bigger than Tetron, was only hit in the spine rather than the helm. However, due to this bullet being a modified, hypersonic explosive round, before Chevron had time to even realise the ground bridge opening, much of his back plate armour was blown off and his spine singed but not broken.
Chevron lurched forward, intense pain radiating from his central back plate. As his optics refocused from the pain, the Decepticon reached for his dropped rifle and and quickly moved into a standing position despite his pain. He levelled his rifle to the scientist's position, before he realised that the 'bot wasn't there any more, nor anywhere nearby for that, all that was left was a small puddle of surprisingly turquoise energon, varying from the usual cyan colour, around the the small hole left by his blade...
