Skyspray had remained quiet during the others' conversation and just listened. He hadn't touched the high-grade either, he wasn't one to drink and he saw what it did to Gear and Jazz which also convinced him not to drink. Now that he was walking out with his fellow autobots he began speaking.
Well, decepticons don't take offense to everything. They are just plain brutes that are not intelligent enough to understand simple orders. Or just sadists, that also applies. Of course there are exceptions, but that's not many. I can think of... Ten on the top of my mind. And a combiner project? That must have been before my time, because i never heard about it. Why was it unethical?
He scratched the back of his helm with his left servo. Did he defend the decepticons? No, that wasn't it. He just wanted to provide some information.
And Shockwave does stuff to traitors? Huh, that was intresting. I have some personal experience of what might happen to traitors. The T-cog and fuel pump area was the one that provided the most fun. These servos have a lot of energon on them, both autobot and decepticon, but mostly decepticon since traitors were the usual target. And i agree, it isn't pretty. It's actually very gory.
Morality, what is that exactly? Always these fancy words but when it comes down to it, it is just fancy words. Morality changes and sometimes choices makes you change it. I should know. I should know.... I mean, i don't like torturing others, but i have no problems doing so. It was what i was raised to do.
He vented and looked straight forward, not fixating on anything special. This was just a way to release some of his thoughts.
Should i really be saying this much? Oh well, no turning back.
He said to himself in Old Cybertronian. Just something he did hen he didn't want everyone else to understand what he said, but wanted them to hear him.

"Time changes some things, sprite," Jazz said and patted Skyspray on the shoulder lightly. It wasn't in a scolding manner as Prowl would have done to Blue, but rather just a friendly tap as he spoke. "I don't know how it is now, but back before Optimus was even a Prime there was an Oath that Autobots followed; a code of ethics. Never leave a 'Bot behind, follow true to what you feel is right in your spark, stand up for others, and never forget that everyone and everything has the right to fair freedom. We made sure that those and more were put into effect each time we engaged in conflict with the Decepticons and... sometimes we lost, sometimes we didn't."
Jazz looked around for a moment and took in a gust of air through his intakes. This place was definitely cleaner than the dusty trails around the new base. For once dust wasn't clogging up his vents. Too bad they couldn't have chosen a better place to set up camp.
"Way back when, probably before your time, Sprite, I was one heck of a rookie. Cocky, a little arrogant... okay, a lot arrogant. Didn't think nothin' could stop me or my little band of misfits. I lost sight of a lot of stuff, even the basics, and it cost me one of my own who was little more than the same gun-ho youth that I was. That time changed all of us and for a while we just played it off as memory loss due to the torture, even if we knew better than to lie to our superiors. It took us havin' to face our own ghosts to see that we had to ensure that we did whatever we could to separate ourselves from the Decepticons and part of that was makin' sure we were ready to give our sparks to protect those on our team even with odds stacked 'gainst us. Heck, that even meant lettin' the enemy go and walkin' away from an unfair fight in our favor. Optimus was good at stuff like that and livin' to that code and it was an honor to serve at his side. Seems this new Prime shares a lot with'im; just gonna need some time to adjust."

Let's see, is there one thing in that Oath i haven't broken? Nope, or yes because it was before I Got here for... Six years ago. Never leave someone behind, I've left people behind. Do what your spark tells you is right, then i would have left much earlier. But that's in the past. A chair can be very frightening and a voice can be persuasive. A bath could make you scream, if it wasn't for the fact that the liquid would come down your intake. Nothing pleasant with that at all.
He looked up at Jazz with his optics focused on him behind his battlemask.
I never got into conflicts, i just cleaned them up. It was fun, if you think that dissecting corpses and dying bodies is fun. I thought it was anyways. The changing point came when i was given a certain mission. There was this mech that i had befriended and one day he was brought to me. Apparently he had tried to leave the decepticons but failed and now it was my job to finish him off. Probably the worst day of my life, the screams were horrifying. He had a great fuel pump though, not going to lie, probably the best i have ever seen. Anyways, that made me change my whole perspective on the war. The ability to kill off your own friends. FOR WHAT? He just wanted to leave..
I took a shuttle and left the ship which i once called home and landed somewhere here on Earth. If the Autobots hadn't taken me in I would probably still be wandering around, alone and surviving on what i could find. Since that day I have done my best to help the autobots in every way possible. And i think i have succeeded pretty well.
He shifted a little and his chainguns clicked as they moved a little. Many bots maybe thought that he felt sad or maybe even angry about his past. The truth was that he actually didn't care about it. He had accepted that it would be a part of him.
Well, what are we going to do now? I'm starting to get bored. Grandpa, do you have any ideas?
He said cheerfully. Every trace of sadness or maybe even anger had vanished.

Gearchange sighed out.
Well... Prime's probably wondering where the heck I've been, especially since he sent you guys out... We should probably groundbridge back to base and tell Prime that Baku's not eaten us at least. I just hope Baku's encounter with the Decepticons goes alright.

Well, he sent me at the same time as he sent you, just that i got delayed a bit. Hehe. But that sounds like a plan, bridging back to base and such. That gives us something to do. And he'll be fine, did you see his size? I do not want to fight him, not alone at least.
He chuckled a little before slamming his fists into the ground and transforming into his dual-barrled tank mode. It wasn't anything that you usually saw but it was an alt-mode that Sky liked. He also sent a comm to someone.

As Ichinose waved goodbye to the Autobots and headed into the town, Baku would open up a groundbridge and head to the outskirts of Shanghai, China, to see what the Decepticons had to offer him...

Gearchange opens up a groundbridge for the three of them.
I like a challenge, Baku would be fun to fight against... by the way nice treads, NEST design right? Noticed they had a few of those tanks.
the mech departs through the groundbridge.

The tank simply revved its engine. The compliment hadn't gone unnoticed but by the time he was about to respond to it, the large mech had already entered the groundbridge. The smaller tank backed up a little before turning its little turret towards Jazz.
See you on the other side!
With those words it drove forwards through the groundbridge.

Jazz watched the other two as they went through the ground bridge, but he hesitated. He was getting himself a bit situated with everything again and for the time being he really didn't feel like having his circuits ruffled again right away. He wanted to get out, cruise around a bit, and without a Decepticon in sight or on reading he was more than happy to take the time needed for a brief rest right in this otherwise peaceful little spot.
The former Special Opcs head opened the panel on his left arm and activated the small hologram computer screen which beamed up from the top of the controls there and accessed data storage, just to ensure he had the location saved from the Ark still. There it was, sure enough, as well as the controls to call up a ground bridge. All the capabilities needed were literally at the tips of his digits so he didn't have to panic about finding a way home. He shut down the small system and closed the panel then rubbed his shoulder a bit again as he stared around. This was going to be his little miniature vacation- something he was way overdue for.
Transforming would have been an option, but on the rocky exterior of this mountainside? No way, not if he wasn't in the business for a new set of tires and a paint job. So instead he trekked on foot, something he wasn't really opposed to all that much since he did travel this way quite frequently. Besides, this form made it much easier to have a view of his surroundings to take everything in. No complaints from him, that was for sure.
Jazz found himself a nice little isolated spots top side and sat there, folded his servos behind his helm, and flopped backwards into the much softer grassy patch. There he lay, staring up at the sky overhead as he thought a loud to himself about various things, mostly being where his old team was.
"Forgive me for leavin' ya guys."

Entering the atmosphere with sold orange flames clinging tightly, leaving a long black smoke trail in it's wake, to what appeared to be an asteroid. Shooting towards the small town at speeds just above the sound barrier, the re-entry flames quickly died down as the cool air greeted the glowing hulk. Slowing down as it entered the thicker air, the object gradually ceased glowing to reveal a silver surface. Riddled with cracks, dents and scorch marks, the journey to this planet hadn't been all too kind, resulting in the lack of paint or any clear indication as to what it was. However, that hardly mattered to the onlookers, who were quickly preparing buckets of water for the inevitably fires caused by the impact.
Still moving at ridiculous speeds, vapour trails following suit, the object shot over the town before impacting into the country side. Creating a deep trench some 30ft long and 10ft deep, the smoking asteroid sat there amongst toppled and burning trees. Barely visible through the now clearing dust cloud the silver object, now fully visible to the approaching villagers, appeared to be a space craft of some sorts: Four small thrusters were indented at the back, along with a few small winglets. However, there didn't seem to be any door, at least what they perceived as a door, leading into the craft. Both curios and terrified, one of the older men decided to approach it. Climbing down into the newly created trench, he slowly moved towards the pod.
As he neared it, it's scratched and worn surface still processing enough gleam to make him look away from the more sun lit areas, he hesitantly laid a hand on it's surface. Oddly, it wasn't as hot as he thought it would be, but it was by no means cold. No, it held a certain warmth which felt weird coming from metal, something which was meant to be cold. Sliding his hand along the smooth surface, the pod suddenly lit up. The many seams and cracks glowed a deep purple, making the man quickly retract his hand and move back. Letting out a deep hiss as coolent was vented, the craft shuddered and groaned before going silent. Then, it shifted forms.
With a mess of complex movements and mind numbing twists, the metal massive slowly stood up on newly formed pedals. This being enough to break the man's remaining courage, he quickly turned and ran back to the slowly shrinking group of people, all staring at the shifting mass with equal parts wonder and fear. Now standing at roughly 25ft, towering over anything the villagers had in their small town, the many clicks and grinds of metal plates moving over one another stopped. Deathly silent, despite the previous racket, the obvious robot simply stood there, staring at the ground. After a minute or two, one of the townsfolk decided to suck it up and say something. Uttering in a shaky voice a simple, ''hello'' the robot suddenly moved, turning sharply and staring with it's deep red visor towards them. Causing the group to move back quickly in fear, they had a small stand off, neither side saying a word for the moment. One of the group could swear he was being read by the figure, he couldn't explain way but he felt like his mind were pages of a book for the duration of the staring match.
Then, the figure removed it's gaze from the group, instead turning it towards the sky as it's visor started glowing much brighter. Unbeknowing to the Humans, the robot was sending out a ping, signalling it's arrival to any other of it's kind on this rock. After sending the ping and ceasing the increased glow, the robot turned towards the village no more than a few hundred meters away. Trusting that this species has advanced enough to build vehicles, it started moving towards the town in search of a alternate mode. Due to the effects of re-entry, it's scanners and Energon detecters were currently out of commission, meaning the nearby Autobot was completely invisible to him.

Jazz had been staring at the sky and its wonder one minute, then focused on a strange signal the next. Optics beneath his visor shifted some for a moment as he took in what he saw streaking across the sky. What came through his feed made a familiar feeling sink in to the lower areas of what humans would call an abdomen. Was that an escape pod? What if... what if it wasn't one of theirs? The signal field surely didn't run along the parallels of anything Autobots used so there was a high probability that this was enemy intrusion.
And it was on its way to collide with Earth!
"Scrap!"
As it plummeted further down and over the mountain side, Jazz sat up and climbed to his feet as he went to inspect. Though it wasn't long after that, when the object had left his direct line of vision, that he felt a rumble in the ground under his pedes and he steadied himself to prevent himself from falling over from the small tremor. That made him hurry along a little faster, knowing that the town was only a stones throw away from even where he had camped himself down for a rest. His visor was then alerting him to a fact he had been dreading. Having been behind the enemy lines during infiltrations, Jazz had managed to store more than a few different communication lines the Decepticons used for hidden transmissions. Right now, his HUD was being alerted to one such line being used to send out a signal- a call- to others of the same faction.
The view he saw when he came around the cliff-side only confirmed it further and he narrowed his optics behind his visor and removed his blaster from the storage slot in his left hip. Decepticon? Yes, definitely, and it was one that particularly gave him the creeps. Even without a form to solidify an exterior frame job Jazz knew that one just by looking at the familiarities in basic structure. Then again, it wasn't difficult for anyone who had even glanced at the data files on Decepticon members to know that name would pop up towards the top as a warning against engagement.
"Soundwave." Not loud enough to be yelling, but certainly loud enough to be heard.

Striding past the group of Humans, caring little if they bothered to remove themselves from his path, Soundwave headed towards the village. From what his brief scan of the planet before he landed told him, not many Decepticons were currently here, or at least to his sensors they weren't. According to high command the majority of the Autobot force were here, hiding in some vain attempt to escape their termination, meaning it would only be a matter of time before Megatron's vast army arrived. Word had it that the capital ship, the Nemesis, was already here, orbiting the planet, and picking up new comers as they arrived. He didn't doubt it, with such an opportunity as this it was only logical for their most powerful weapons to be here, even if they were understaffed.
As he thought to himself, something caught his attention, a small sound behind him, almost like a shuffling. Stopping and turning slowly, he was greeted with the sight of the small group following him closely, perhaps they didn't fear him? Either way it was an annoyance, pests had no place being in such close proximity, even if they posed no threat. Deciding to voice his thoughts, he took one thudding step forward and released a warning in his signature tone. Jumping from low to high notes mid word, his odd voice was more akin to a mix-tape than an actual cord, something he'd acquired over the deca-cycles of voice recording. However, even after releasing his warning, which was spoken in Cybertronian, the group didn't leave. Flinch, yes, but that was to be expected when faced with a 20ft robot you'd only just met.
This lack of intelligence on their part didn't bother him, he hardly felt such emotions any more, but it did prove to be against his plans. It would do him no go to have a group of flesh-bags following him like a group of scraplets around a fresh meal, so he would have to deal with them just the same. Straightening up and shifting his targeting system on, he took aim at the centre of the group. Wanting to end this quickly, he split open his right shoulder blade and moved the large barrel-like device out. Setting it in it's proper position next to his head, the eight barrels quickly began to spin as a small belt connected to it's underside. Just as he was about to fire another, more pressing, sound caught his attention.
Quickly spinning on the spot and locking onto the source of the sound, he unloaded a hail-storm of rounds into the hill side. Had this been anything more than a snap shot, he might have hit something, but instead the ground was victim to his fire. Normally he wouldn't do something like this, just randomly start shooting at someone who happened to utter his name, but he was on edge. He had to be: He was without sensors, scanners or even the most basic of radar, meaning anything and anyone could sneak up on him. It appeared that had already happened though. Ceasing his fire, Soundwave suddenly sent off at a sprint towards the town. Even with his chain-gun, he was no match for a prepared Autobot. Armourless in this protoform state, even a simple pistol shot could seriously damage him. So why stick around?

Jazz tensed up when he had seen Soundwave take aim at the humans and he took a step forward as though to intercept the attack on them. But that sound, or maybe the one uttered by him when calling out to the Decepticon, drew the attention back to him. Thankfully he was quick on his pedes and alert enough to get the heck out of the way. Personally, Jazz didn't care if Soundwave had perfect aim or a slop-job going on, he wasn't going to take chances of being hit directly by his weapons. He ducked back behind the rocky ledge for cover and lifted his blaster as he waited for it to settle down. When the sounds of the gunfire stopped and he picked up the sound of thuds moving away, he peeked around the ledge and spotted the Decepticon moving away from him in a frantic attempt to escape. Jazz otherwise probably would have let the fiend go, but he knew that once he was armored up he could go after the town. That just couldn't be allowed.
So, foolishly, Jazz followed suit but did not open fire as the Decepticon before him had but instead just rushed after in an attempt to catch up and perhaps knock him to the ground. Jazz was an Autobot, and following the rules was just what he had to do, especially with a new Commander to try and get on the good side of. Shooting out in the open like this when there were humans who could get caught up in the crossfire? Probably not the best idea when he had some level of probation to get through. However, once he passed by the group of bystanders who had gathered to inspect Soundwave, it was no holding back and he changed his angle as he opened fire on the Decepticon, making it so that if his rounds did not hit they at least would clear the town overhead and not hit anything there either.
"Soundwave! Come back and face me, ya Connie Coward! Megs ain't comin' to help ya this time!"

Slightly curious as to why the Autobot didn't just start shooting immediately, probably that silly view of theirs when it came to fighting with other sentient creatures, Soundwave didn't bother keeping the thought alive as rounds began flying past his helm. Knowing to get out of the line of fire quickly, he sharply changed directions and ducked into the line of trees to his left. Using his shoulder as a battering ram, he forced himself through the narrow gap between two trees, forcing them to uproot slightly, and continued running. He would have to turn and face the Autobot eventually, his guy seemed like the running type and he wasn't exactly known for his speed himself.
But for now he was covered, meaning he could spend more time on finding the quickest path through this small forest instead of dodging shells. Using small hops and side steps to ensure he would run head long into a tree, Soundwave managed to keep a good pace and hurry towards the village. The one in question was now clearly in sight, just past the remaining tress and a small meadow until he reached it. However, he would to wait a little longer to search of a suitable vehicle mode, the constant path changes and quick movements made it impossible to pick anything out ahead of him. No matter.

Jazz was having a bit of a time trying to keep up, knowing that his vehicle mode would be the better option but with the Decepticon dodging into the trees like some Earth-based monkey creature he would have a more difficult time trying with that. Jazz continued to fire when he would catch glimpse of his opponent, which was a slim opportunity now and again, but he wouldn't be able to keep this up for long. The moment that Soundwave entered that village he would have to pull back or risk actually hurting someone. Not to mention that charging through was completely out of the question.
The saboteur instead bought whatever time he could, now shooting off to the left or right of Soundwave to try and corral him in one direction instead of weaving in and out of his line of fire. Just a little further and Jazz could try a different tactic, but he would have to wait for his opportunity, which was coming up quickly but he would have to time it just right---
There!
Flat ground was in sight and Jazz sprung forward, tucking himself down as his helm slid down into the hood of his vehicle mode. The joint in his mid-section twisted around to allow for his pedes to face opposite and knees tucked in. The Porsche hit the ground hard, but the wheels struck the flat surface and spun just as the rear spoiler rose up from what had once been panels on the rear side of Jazz's pedes. He sped forward, this vehicle made for what was needed. He had to intercept Soundwave, and that was exactly what he was going to do whether he dented his framework up or not. The rev of his engine roared from somewhere behind Soundwave, getting closer, until he was within a range where Jazz felt safe enough to execute his second attempt to stop the Decepticon. Jazz used the area to his advantage and drove up along a small protruding ledge then kicked out one final burst of speed as tires screeched in protest and kicked up grass and dirt alike, the chancy maneuver at his high rate of speed sending his vehicle mode airborne.
The shifting and thudding of metal came from behind Soundwave as Jazz used both the momentum and the trajectory from his falling frame to aim right for the Decepticon's back. If he missed, he would at least still get a rolling land which would give him a small charge forward to run after him again, but if he managed to hit it would be a rather painful connection with the middle of Soundwave's back... should he not turn around to see what the heck all the noise and commotion was about from behind him.
Then again, something like this always had the option to go wrong.

The clicks and grinds ringing out clearly told him what was transpiring behind him, if the roar of an engine moments later wasn't enough. Quickly turning and locking his gaze on the... Well, he couldn't say he was surprised by what he saw. Quickly bracing himself and extending his arms slightly, Soundwave prepared for the impact. Taking the full force of an angry sports car ramming into his chest, he quickly grabbed a hold of the wheel rims and held Jazz in place. While his armour may have increased his strength to the point where something like this was trivial, he wasn't currently wearing said armour, so he was physically straining to hold the Autobot there. Although the force of the impact was enough to send him skidding slightly, the major damage was internal. He could feel at least one line had ruptured, already beginning to pool Energon in his chest cavity and coat the occupants in the liquid.
Feeling a small rumble of anger from his chest at the situation, Soundwave knew this fight had awoken his agents, not something he needed right now. Quickly winding up slightly before twisting and throwing Jazz back-end first into the closest tree, he wasted no time in watching the end result. Spinning on his heel and continuing the sprint, although he was moving much slower. The dull ache in his chest told him he'd have to scan something soon, it seemed the rupture had been worse than previously thought, he'd probably end up drowning in his own life blood if he didn't hurry. With that knowledge in mid, Soundwave broke through the tree line, sending splintering wood into the air as he locked his sights on the closest building. With the constant head bobbing and course corrections now out of the way, he could focus on the task at hand. He quickly spotted a few vehicles, but they were horribly unsuited to him, flashy trim and pointless curves would do nothing to aid him.
He knew the Autobot would be hot on his tail again, his throw hadn't been that strong and now that he was on flat ground the chase would very one-sided. He could practically hear the 'Bot's engine now, or was that his own motors? Refocusing, he panned his gaze from left to right in an attempt to find something useful. The tactic proved worth-while as he spotted his new alt-mode, although he would have to do something about those blue lights... Watching as the Human's excuse for a police force headed down the nearby road towards him, Soundwave imagined one of group from earlier had called them after witnessing their near death. Locking his sights on the third vehicle, a large, armoured truck of sorts with thick tires and small turret mounted on the top, he prepared to scan once it was in range. His visor began to tinge blue as the biological programs loaded up, his body relaxing and opening in several places as if anticipating the coming of new plates.

Well, it didn't go to plan, but it wasn't as bad as Jazz thought it could have turned out once Soundwave had twisted around to face him. He had thought Soundwave would have opened fire on him since there wouldn't have been anything the Autobot could have done to stop much of a possible attack so he settled in nicely for the 'throw to the trees' technique. Especially when there was no gunfire to follow.
As he was tossed, Jazz caught himself in mid-transform in a torso-twisting maneuver to catch himself against the trees and dig his pedes into the ground to prevent a head-on collision with more damage than a scuff or two. Also, this allowed for the Bot to push off his natural support beams and take off after the Decepticon again once he had, again, transformed. While in pursuit his windshield was greeted with a furry of splintering tree pieces but that was no match for his wipers, which he turned on and used to brush the intrusions away. Of course, seeing Soundwave stopped just ahead wouldn't have been so bad if not for the fact that Jazz was also made aware of the oncoming vehicles headed their way. The way he was focused on those vehicles could have meant that he was going to try and scan one, and either could have been of issue to Jazz. He inwardly cursed at himself and picked up the pace, needing to stop the mech before he was able to proceed with what Jazz suspected to be his intentions.
There was another engine-rev as the Porsche once again sped up, only this time as he neared Soundwave he spun out of his vehicle mode and rushed at the back of the Decepticon with his helm down and his shoulder turned outward. His plan was to hit him again, wherever he could, with all the force he could surface in hopes to throw the mono-toned 'Con off his pedes and prevent him from being able to scan anything except...
Maybe a tree. Or a rock.
"No ya don't, Soundwave!"

(( Cool... ))
A groundbridge opens near the area and two mysterious transformers emerge, one wearing what looks like a tattered cape covered in mud, dirt and oil... completely in disrepair. This face-plated transformer walks towards the Autobot and Decepticon signals ahead... He is followed by another much smaller robot. The smaller robot looks around, she appears doesn't seem to like being out in the open like this, but continues to follow the mech with the cape.
